Good Question, when we traveled Abu Dhabi some construction work was going on at the Airport, that’s why we didn’t do the immigration process at Abu Dhabi. We did our immigration at Chicago

@ i think construction is over, checkin will take place at Abu Dhabi as per the news from Etihad. Check the below link
