Mark Knopfler always humble and self deprecating. Mark Knopfler is a Guitar God and a musical genius. Thank you Mark Knopfler for your great music and making a huge difference in the world. You have helped and inspired countless millions over the last 40 years. Long may you continue. I hope one day I get a chance to thank you.

The sound of this tracks takes in dark places... The sound of youth,of being scared, the feelin' of war. It's great!

Side 2 on the brothers in arms album had such OUTSTANDING songs. I wish they would have gotten more exposure and more live playing.

i hear this song and i imagine the guerrilla atmosphere, with soldiers silently walking across a river in latin america... and the song is just about that!

wow, this must've been very early in the BiA tour, interesting to see how polished the song became by the end of the tour in the Sydney concert! lots of the sound n feel of Alchemy in this. he also changed from this guitar to the dark-blue strat for this song throughout the tour.

Pedro, that Schecter Strat was never stolen, there was an earlier Schecter with a cream pickguard that was stolen, the one that Mark used to record the Making Movies album.

That Schecter Strat wasn't really used after mark got the Pensa-Suhr and Mark gave it to Eric Clapton.
Eric sold it at his second auction for about £20,000 I think.

So what if he's a Jewish. He is a great musician and composer. He is a peacemaker too. He wrote Brothers In Arms. I love all his stuff.

I expected to see the Les Paul on this track.. I'm pretty sure it's not a Strat on the album.

According to Jewish law in Israel, a person is considered Jewish regardless of which parent is Jewish. You could have both parents Jewish or just one-mother or father. And proof could be as simple as parent or grandparent's death certificate indicating religious affiliation. Are you Jewish or just someone who thinks he's a scholar of Judaism? He may only be a secular Jew rather than a practicing Jew. But what difference does that make when you consider his gifted talent???
