What a cool experience, riding the waves in itself was the true reward, but feels awesome from a career standpoint to finally get the coveted ride of the year and surfer of the year! Shout out to my lovely wife for putting up with my crazyness all year and always supporting me! And I want to thank all of you guys my loyal subscribers for the support and for being a huge part of the last 12 months of chaos you all were pretty much along the ride with us through this youtube channel! Dude...so stoked for you. I know in your heart of hearts that you don't do this for the awards. But let's be honest here: nobody has done more for this sport than you and your worldwide tours. The compilation of your biggest waves of the year was insane! After watching that and watching you tame the Mullaghmore beast, was there ever any doubt?? Going to Vic's in Bradley to celebrate with a pie tomorrow night cause they're closed Mondays. This is the culmination of what happens when putting yourself where others don’t. And that’s not a knock on anyone else, but I’m not seeing anyone else taking the roads less or rarely travelled and surfing the waves infrequently ridden and documenting it. Congrats!!

Our sport is barely surviving now, nowhere near like it used to be in the 80's and 90's. And for someone on such a high level of surfing to take the time and even show bodyboarding means alot. Your level of professionalism is second to none Nate. Unapologetically taking surfing by the scruff of the shirt and pushing it in the direction it needs to go.
