- Mary Jo Young had never performed live in front of a group prior to her American Idol audition of Tate McCrays “You broke me first.” Her journey to American Idol began almost a year ago when she started posting videos to TikTok during pandemic-related shutdowns in Ohio last spring. It wasn’t long before she began attracting the attention of tv talent competitions. America’s Got Talent and The Voice expressed interest in her but Mary Jo settled on American Idol.
With her successful audition, Mary Jo is on her way to Hollywood and while Luke Bryan has at least 15 contestants on his Top Ten, we agree Mary Jo may be one of them.
She has an amazing voice!!! I love it!! She will be the next AMERICA IDOL!!!
This girl is going places. She has no idea how her talent can save lives- helping people to connect to their emotions and find healing. She should sing praying by Kesha. She would knock it out of the park!
Her personality is love-able and her singing voice is unique. With her humble spirit and remarkable voice I think she’ll end up in the top 5 at the least. Can’t wait to hear more from her.

Her voice is different...sounds like shes screaming all the time....prob woouldnt be my pick....i think shes talented but just not my type of a pretty sounding voice.
