I was stationed at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii when this issue came out. The PX carried Circus and Guitar World. Bought the new issues every month. Turn 60 in a couple weeks. Good times even during the Army.
Wow. I HAD that issue.I was 14. Seeing you page through it is bringing back all the memories. A relatively new metalhead. Most of that magazine ended up cut up and taped to the wall(NOT the Vince Neil poster though!).
Thanks for sharing ! I have some circus! Metal edge was my favorite, although it was cool to get full ratt cover pic in other publications! God bless you. God bless all the ratt n rollers. Jesus saves sinners!
Awesome loved part two of the mag-flip. Very cool !!! At the 12:38 mark that is a ad for the band TT Quick and the album Metal of Honor on Megaforce Records. Not sure how you missed that.
I really enjoyed your flipping through of Circus magazine. I too use to buy Circus magazine, and this brought me back to those days before the internet. I liked how you went through and discussed artists and events; it had a historical sense to it. You could do this with other music magazines as well, Circus though, was my favorite.
I think the Megaforce ad was for the band TT Quick. I believe I had this issue at one point myself. I have been a longtime fan of Van Halen. I must have picked up every issue of Circus and Hit Parader every month for this stuff. Thanks for the memories on that one.
That was fun, man we were spoiled back then, Circus , Creem, Hit Parader, Metal Edge, Metal Mania, Metal Forces, Kerrang!!, RIP, Guitar Player, and in Australia we had our own mag; Hot Metal,.Good articles , artwork, interviews, music tips and posters and pages that went on our befroom walls and school binders and books. Good times!
Do you remember the syndicated metal show that came on Sunday nights on the radio called metal shop? I love listening that every Sunday night for years especially during my high school years in the 80s
Great videos! Love Circus and still have alot of them as I too was a collector. FYI: The ad right before the Classified section is for a band called, "TT Quick" that was on Metal Blade Records, I think they might be a British Band? not sure but do remember them in the 80's. Also a HUGE DIO fan here! Hope to see MORE Circus Magazine reviews!
I have a bunch of music mags with randy in it 🤔 I loved when queensryche and winger used the head mounted mics it suited them marvelously !!! 1981 i could catch US radio from 🇨🇦 accross the lake from rochester i heard swords and tequila and fight the good fight as well as ome frank marino...it made me realize canada sucked for getting music even though triumph and marino were canadian 😂😂😂
Great video, LOVE THESE MAGAZINES.. Starting to buy some myself. Quick suggestion, when talking about the article, try and keep your hands away from the print unless you have to.. I'm pausing the video and reading the article..then after, I'll listen to the rest of it.. Lastly, put some lotion on those hands bro!
Thank you, that's great input. It's funny you say that, we had some people in the studio yesterday and I avoided shaking their hands because I could tell my hands felt like sandpaper. I put some lotion on after and it soaked it up like the Sahara. I guess it's also hard to hide it from a 4K camera.
I was a comic book collector until 1982, then I was in the 8 th grade was into girls and just getting into rock and roll and bought my first Circus magazine at the book store at the Mall ! Ozzy has a shaved head and the Headline was (Ozzy Rules!) I thought it meant rules that Ozzy went by I had no idea what it really meant at the time!!!! Th he ruled rock!!! Ha ha
My first circus I bought was Dolly on the cover and Gene photos covered in the blood gimmick. The music of Sam Halen was a different band and except for humans being and maybe dreams, there are Sam Hating songs I've never heard and don't intend to listen to.
I'm an SG guy, grew up with one around the house and can't really play anything else comfortably, the neck joins the body at the 20th fret so the cowboy chords are way out there...
It’s kinda funny, cuz the very few magazines I still have, but at the time it’s was all about the pictures cuz I didn’t like to read cuz when I did read anything I would start reading and maybe the first sentence I would maybe comprehend but then after I got to the bottom of the page and I would realize I didn’t have a clue what I read and at the same time I was thinking about something else, maybe cuz whatever the first sentence said maybe I was thinking just about that. 🤣😂 That’s when I was a kid and in school too. But now, I love reading! But I didn’t like school so maybe that had something to do with not liking to read. But I was watching the interview if the guy that started Kramer of course that’s his last name and he got it started and he sold the company and got a good chunk of money but he said after he did that, that’s when Eddie endorsed Kramer guitar an he kinda regretted selling the company. But he and another guy designed this literally made outta of metal guitar and it was selling real well and that was the guitar that got the company goin. He didn’t even play guitar at all and his partner ended up getting into drums! 🤘🏼 ✌🏼
I saw Ozzy and the Crue in 84 , bark at the moon , shout at the devil it was magic, then saw Ozzy on the ultimate sin tour with Metallica opening with their master of puppets! I thought Ozzy was fat and kind of sluggish Metallica really rocked James hetfield had a broken arm from skateboarding That's what I remember I thought they were pretty good I'm not a big Metallica fan but they were really great opening for ozzy in 86
Still have my copy of this mag! All taped up where it ripped..classic stuff. Thanks for sharing! Trip down memory lane.

Really cool idea for a show. I’m new to your channel but really like it. LOVE going through the magazines. Those were my youth!
Thanks, glad you're enjoying it!

You're right. I had to look it up, lol. Found out their singer has been in Accept for the last 15 years.

They ,Ratt, did a great Dec. 86 Memphis show and played 2 hours and did 20 songs,it was great.
Percy's stage shirt had something about a thing shaped like a taco should be eaten on front of it.
Eddie Trunk worked for MEGAFORCE I believe
TT Quick was a great band from Jersey, where Megaforce Records was.

Metal edge mag was a good one too. Thats how we got tour dates
Gibson owns Kramer and for a while were pushing the brand a few years ago...
The inlays on the fretboard are called "shark teeth "
⭐⭐⭐⭐
TT Quick was a band...Metal of Honor is their album...
Thank you!
I have an Alcatrazz promo poster and Yngwie is posing
with an Aria Pro II, as only Yngwie can...
Kramer is under the Gibson brands now

Funny, I sometimes still do that when I read.
Those Takameenies are acoustic guitars for people who don't play acoustic, butter in the fret hand

Shark fin inlays on hagars guitar which was not a jackson.
I'm super curious, what is it? Is it just something custom made?
