@3:28:00 you can just prime the system with the normal amount rather than the 300 if you don't want to have to reset your extractors later, because that first craft will craft the water needed anyway
I use the satisfactory calculator to set out a plan, i don't pay attention to the number of machines. It's more to figure out what alternates i want and about how much raw stuff to bring in. I just built a factory to supply my dimensional depots, and the most item I needed was about 1100 petroleum coke.

packaging diluted fuel and unpacking it and ending up with more makes sense. you are adding water to the fuel and there for when you dump it back out its more liquid. now should it be the same energy efficiency as non diluted fuel? probably not
You don't need to delete belts when placing a merger/splitter. Just look down at the centre of the belt when placing and it will add it correctly, if you have resources on the belt, correct placement will be confirmed by the input line moving a few places.
It often doesn't snap to the grid if you don't, so I just prefer to remove the belt. Or sometimes you'll see me place a junction or a splitter infront of it, and then the one on the belt I'm placing will "Snap" and align to the one next to it. I think today there wasn't much space to add a splitter it could align with, so I just removed the belt and built it on the foundation, giving me the grid.
@@WhatDarrenPlays That's why I said you have to look at the centre top of the belt, you will know when it snaps to grid as it turns blue, otherwise it is yellow. It will automatically turn the main in to the direction of the belt when done right. This is how you force a snap to grip.
The gas filters are such an odd part to this game. They aren't the only one either, nobelisks and ammo can be made with leftovers and you'll still have to much produced.

You can make coal of petroleum... Petroleum coal .. I think that's the name. As long you have a lot of oil there
