- Warrant officer One retired Douglas Mari Kahando served as an Armament Technician in the Kenya Army immediately after independence. In 1967, Kahando was part the first troop of soldiers to serve in the One Kenya Rifles Battalion. Ben Troy Njue visited him in Nanyuki and filed the following report for this Week’s Edition of MILITARY TALES.
