Hi Stan! I was surprised how beautiful it was, despite the damage left from the wildfires! The fog, while it did limit the view, did add that element of mystery where you could imagine almost anything! It is a hard thing to adequately convey to others, unless, like yourself, you've hiked the trails in those foggy conditions. You are right! it is a fantastic trail!
I can understand that. Typically, I tend to favor the hikes along creeks, waterfalls, or in coves and otherwise "ensconced" feel to them. And I have to admit, it was somewhat hard for me to see all the devastation from the wildfire, but I think that part of the reason I enjoyed it more than I would have thought was due to the misty/foggy circumstances with the suddenly clear condition as I got to the top. Another aspect of the whole trip that had an impact for me was getting to meet and talk with the winter caretaker there. I really enjoyed listening to some of the stories of different hikers/circumstances he and his wife experienced up there. As for Bullhead, I am interested to see how a few more years recovery will affect the look of the trail. Happy Hiking!

I didn't really care for Bullhead... I did much of the same trail just about a month ago.
