Congrats on the 300th! I've been following you for a while, but never written anything before, so I wanna take the opportunity to tell you how much I enjoy your videos. Your attitude is really endearing, everytime you say "welcome to a very special How I Paint Thins", while with other people I'd consider it a little cocky, with you I always think it's appropriate, because you DO make it special with your polite and cheerful manners. I also appreciate how helpful your tutorials are: they're many, varied and while simple, they always go straight to the paint and teach how to get good outcomes (between battle and parade ready) without bashing our heads with difficult or unnecessary techinques. I often watch them even if I don't need'em. Also, your outward passion for the hobby pushed me to be a little less ashamed about it, as I still sometimes feel a little push back in engaging with it (it's not helpful that I live in a place where people are a little closed minded on the subject. People in the community are all cool, tho). Again, congratulations and thank you for everything, looking forward to your next 300 videos!
I think we're pretty lucky in this day and age with the internet at our fingertips everywhere. Like-minded types aren't very far away when you've got your phone in your pocket - not to mention the vastness of information available to help jumpstart almost any project. I can't imagine how things would have been different if I'd had all this when I was a little guy, so it's neat to be able to share what I've learned over the years with others in the same way.
He’s my Doctor, also. PBS (public television in the USA) started showing Tom Baker’s Dr. Who in the late 70’s & early 80’s, I was already a Trekkie, and this at least looked somewhat similar(it wasn’t, to my delight). I was hooked immediately!
Jon Pertwee is my Doctor! Would love to see you paint more of these figures. Egg and Chips sometimes with Peas (mushy or garden), now that was my childhood! 😀

Did you have a celebratory Jelly Baby? The 4th Doctor is definitely "my Doctor", even though I started watching when John Pertwee was star. The paintwork on the coat works really well for the velvet fabric. I'm looking forward to episode 600 when you tackle Colin Baker's 6th Doctor costume 😄😄😄

I watched him as a kid living in Northern Ontario on TVO (one of 4 channels we could get). And this helps prove the point I was making to you last year when you started your merchandise: you should have had your face on all of it. All the Geeks I work with would have seen "Sonic Sledgehammer" and your face and they would have thought you were the NEW Doctor...Because there is ALWAYS a New Doctor. 🤣All the best to you and I wish you nothing but more success. Tom Baker was also my introduction to the "Doctor Who" TV show (on PBS here in the States). I was a little confused at first since my first introduction was the 1965 Peter Cushing movie "Doctor Who and the Daleks" back when he was a human inventor. He just needs some jelly babies. 😁
Really glad to hear you're still having fun doing this, it seems like a lot of youtubers feel a ton of pressure, between tight schedules, always having to innovate crazy new stuff, and worst of all trying to game the algorithm. Keep on doing your thing and enjoying yourself, more money and fame is not worth your happiness.
Nice change of pace from the usual wargame minis. Don't get me wrong - it's 90% of what I paint, too, but once in a while, a little variety really brightens the day!

Nice job Triple S. I painted up some the metal Dr Who models back in the 80s. My first Doctor was John Pertwee so he's probable my favorite but David Tennant is also pretty popular at my house. Thought if I'm being perfectly honest, the Daleks are my actual favorite thing in Dr Who. I have a couple squads awaiting paint. Doing all the spheres on their bases is a bit daunting - I'm thinking a paint marker may be the way to go.
Well, no one can argue that this mini is a little...over the top, with all these flamboyant colours is a clear departure from most of the ones you've painted, Tom Baker's doctor was the only one to arrive in Italy, late '70s, and wasn't well received, contrary to the early japanese animes. It's a beautiful mini, very well detailed. P.s. my nephew LOVED the new doctors, expecially Tennant and Smith, guess why?(killer 'bots!)
I was probably 13 or 14 when I sat down on the couch and turned on PBS only to see this wild haired, big teeth man yell "Harry Sullivan is an imbecile!!" Then he passed out. The rest as they say is history.
Hi Sonic. This was an excellent choice of subject for your 300th video. It was whimsical, and flamboyant. Thank you to you and your crew for making these videos for us to enjoy. By the way, I also speak Spanish, so I want to help you a little with your Vallejo pronunciation. There is not a V as in Victor sound in Spanish, rather they pronounce it as a softer B. Also a double L in Spanish is always pronounced like an English letter Y. The rest of your pronunciation is excellent. So think Buh yay ho, then practice that a few times and you will get it. You can also hear Spanish painters like Angel Giraldez and Juan Hidalgo on UA-cam pronounce it for reference. I think most English speakers just don't know the Spanish language, so they don't know how to pronounce Spanish letters other than J (J being used commonly for Latin/Mexican food and for the name Juan and jalapeño pepper in English speaking countries). By the way, while I am at it, when you see the little squiggle over a letter N like Ñ, that means to add a Y sound immediately after the N sound. I hope that this is helpful to you and anyone who reads this. Thank you for helping us and entertaining us with your painting videos.
Completely agreed. Tom Baker was the best Doctor. David Tennant comes in as a close second. Too bad the newer episodes are unwatchable, but no matter how bad the newest stuff gets, they can never take the good parts of the franchise from us.

A paint marker's not a bad idea, that might be easier to control than a brush over aaaall those bobbles... I'd have to give it a try myself, too!
