Dallas makes me think of the Ancient Egyptian priests I see in every History Channel documentary. Dallas and Karl both seem to smile a lot, especially Karl when they're playing live. It shows that they truly enjoy what they do.
@furrychamp The thing that makes meshuggah technical is the timings and patterns. Most of the songs (stengah and rational gaze come to mind) are actually quite simple. Before anyone says something, i did hear bleed and yes it is VERY hard
Same with the members of Cannibal Corpse, the bassist Alex Webster is one of the nicest and most charismatic people ever. And he writes a lot of the lyrics too!
At this point, I don't really understand why this is the most disliked album. I have no trouble blasting this from beginning to end. Maybe it's because I don't really bother with discerning many of the individual tracks when it comes to death metal. Also, I'm a drummer so I enjoy the drums being high in the mix like they are here and with a great natural tone. I'm most partial to the first three albums, but this is definitely a favorite of the Kolias era for me.
This band is on the cutting edge of extreme metal right now. Who comes close?? Give me names......i will buy the albums and support them. Until then................NILE.
For some reason I don't think this is going to be any better than 'Those whom the Gods Detest', but I certainly am looking forward to seeing the band at BOA 2012.
Hahaha, man the fact that something is way faster and much more consistant, doesn't mean that it's more technical. Don't hate me please,I love the Nile and I also like the Meshuggah, and I'm a musican so I know what I'm saying. And still,I already bought the album At the gates of sethu, and I love it.
Yeah exactly, meshuggah use polyrythms in their music, and it's extremly hard to learn it ,,musicalwise" and to play it ,,rhythmwise" but Nile plays it faster and the notes are much more consistant, and fuck man,George Koolias just fucking crushes the universe with his double bass and blast beats.
its technical in a different way. this is very fucking fast odd times signatures and technical riffs, but meshuggah are extremely technical in a mathematical way.
@xLimitlesso ... Black seeds sounds fucking amazing. Get some better speakers man. Its so full and fat sounding, and perfectly crystal clear through a nice setup :)
if you think my opinion is wrong, okay..Its my opinion. If you like it or not. And i'am not troll. Ive listened to "Catacombs.." and " black seeds" very often, and this albums just perfect. Yes ive read the lyrics, through all albums, and believe me, theres a lot wrong stuff in it. Lot of historical mistakes. But its not about the lyrics i decline this new album. Its about the atmosphere. Its all about technique now. i don't want to listen technique shit. ATMOSPHERE where are thou.
Let me put it this way. It's harder to play Nile when we speak about the ,,instrument" technique, but it takes far more ,,musical" technique to play Meshuggah. I think it's the only proper explanation of this.
Nostalgia much? Do you even listen to the lyrics? Have you noticed the certain techniques and styles that they used to create an atmosphere of ancient mystery and lore. Some songs Dallas even impersonates roles of the Egyptians for crying out loud. What you are saying is misguided. I like that they are going for a somewhat different, but better approach to Egyptian mythology. Bye Bye Blutroll.
I think this is the bades Nile Album of all. The Egypt influences are strongly reduced (melodys and instrumentals). The instrumentals are a joke compared to the old albums. What the fuck happened to nile? This is just normal technical death metal. The egypt elements was the only reason why i listened to nile, and now theyre gone. Bye bye Nile.
Dallas makes me think of the Ancient Egyptian priests I see in every History Channel documentary.

Agreed, 'Those whom the Gods detest' was a breath of fresh air within Technical Death Metal.
@furrychamp

So sick, I'm so stoked for this release. I've been waiting to loooong.
Pretty cool that he has that King Tut statue from the Skymall catalog, I have 12 of those myself in my castle.

Nile is one of best bands of Death Metal around the world!
dallas seems like a chill guy all around
Incredible album RECOMENDED 100000 %
Those Whom The Gods Detest was their best yet, it'd be hard as hell to top that
ive been listening to this cd almost every single day on my to work and home.....fuuuucking love it....kick ass!!!!! \m/
This band is on the cutting edge of extreme metal right now. Who comes close?? Give me names......i will buy the albums and support them. Until then................NILE.
Krisiun
Dying Fetus
Dallas is such a nice guy...probably the most down to earth guy in metal...
For some reason I don't think this is going to be any better than 'Those whom the Gods Detest', but I certainly am looking forward to seeing the band at BOA 2012.
Nile is fucking awesome !
The Gods of Technical Death Metal \m/
Hahaha, man the fact that something is way faster and much more consistant, doesn't mean that it's more technical.

My favorite of their albums
Who cares who's more technical, its art, enjoy it for what it is.
Fuck yes! Nile are the greatest Death metal band ever.
Awesome. Can't wait for the next part. Hail Nile.
This disk hasn't left my stereo and never will...............
THIS. IS. AMAZING.
Awesome. Time for Part 2. Hail Nile.
Didn't there use to be more track-by-track of this album?
George is very down to earth as well. Actually, everyone in metal is generally down to earth
holy shit i never noticed how huge george's hands were mainly cause i never see them when hes playing
what iz up with the screams in the album ?? is that dallas with a new style or the guest vocalist ????
one of their former bass players is doing a lot of vox esp the screaming parts. i cant remember right now but i believe its spires rather than vesano.
THEY SHOULD MAKE A DVD!!!
part 2 please
watched the interview again where karl states that vesano did a huge amount of vocals on this album.
Ever consider that's why he's so happy?
Goddamn I love this album.
3:53 - what techniques?Show us all of them,tutorial please
What's that padded box at 2:20 ? O.o And why isn't EVERYTHING like that?
If you think about insane screams in "Tribunal Of The Dead" or "The Fiends..." or title track - it's Karl:)
I love this cd....it kicks so much ass!!!
AMAZING
Nice guitar...
If Black Seeds was better quality I'd have to go with that one.
is this a NEW song?
its technical in a different way. this is very fucking fast odd times signatures and technical riffs, but meshuggah are extremely technical in a mathematical way.
yes
holy poop.. amazing!
Awesome ever !
Check out Spawn of Possesion's most recent album.
"burning pits of the duat" on "annihilation of the wicked." case and point, argument over.
Meshuggah is pretty simplistic if compared to any death metal band. Also you can't compare to COMPLETELY different genres like that.
It's just a hammer on/pull off. A lot of bands use it for example: A string - 7-10-7
The vocal style sounds very different on the second song
PERFECT PERFORMANCE! SHOW!! MARVELLOUS PRESENTATION!
HUGS,
ROSANGELA D'ORO
fuck yeah! man this album sounds killer!!!
@xLimitlesso ... Black seeds sounds fucking amazing. Get some better speakers man. Its so full and fat sounding, and perfectly crystal clear through a nice setup :)
I finally found a metal singer without hair on his head :D
Dying Fetus, Crowbar, Judas Priest, Devin Townsend to name a few more.
Funny how every song is the best they ever wrote according to Kollias. That just makes his words amount to "bla bla bla" to my ears.
I got fucking giddy when I heard the sneak peak at Eternal molestation of flame.Yup
dallas is happy :D
I'm a huge Meshuggah fan, but yeah Nile is way more technical.
A little bit technical?? My ass!!!! This is a whole lotta little bit technical!!!!!!!!!!!!!
FUCKING HEAVYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY \ m/
if you think my opinion is wrong, okay..Its my opinion. If you like it or not. And i'am not troll. Ive listened to "Catacombs.." and " black seeds" very often, and this albums just perfect. The Crocodiles of the North will fuck you up.
Melechesh?
Oh SHIT, i Like!!!!
Is it me or does George seem a lot like Nergal from Behemoth.
Dont ever compare that other band to Nile....
Let me put it this way. It's harder to play Nile when we speak about the ,,instrument" technique, but it takes far more ,,musical" technique to play Meshuggah.
I think it's the only proper explanation of this.
Dallas doesnt look the same without his hair..
why put mainstream shit on the advertisement...its a fucking Nile video!!!!
He reminds me to dr House.
Haha you can see that he thinks the song titles are lame :D
the music is great but the engineer who put this togeghe

Meshuggah is hardly technical at all when compared to Nile...
Ok, sorry, but Quite a few parts of it sound just like Kafir :|
LUL..
