The "leather" seats in the premium/performance is slight more smooth to the touch. everything else is the same compared to the Dynamic. You're not missing out on much with the Dynamic interior.
Thank you! Between you and LudicrousFeed I’m getting an excellent sense of this vehicle before I even see it up close.
Later this year I’ll consider buying my first EV. The Seal Dynamic is in contention along with the longer range Dolphin, MG4 and ORA variants.
You are very welcome. I am glad I can help provide useful information. I try to cover what other videos have not covered. Thanks for letting me know.
If you’re looking at the MG4 essence 64 or higher you are better off buying the base seal, it’s a much nicer car. The MG4 is great value for the excite 51 however and has the more durable LFP battery on that model
Informative video thanks. We chose the dynamic because of the seats and the smoother ride, 18" tyres! We are enjoying the Dynamic.
Good point. smaller rims mean thicker tyres to absorb road bumps. Thanks for sharing
@@SkyPerspective plus better for the countryside as there’s a lower chance of damaging your wheels or getting a pinch flat on a pothole!
Thanks. Good to have a review on the Dynamic variant. I am getting mine soon.
Synthetic leather is a huge plus point for potential buyers like myself (not that I can afford this beautiful car!) as the leather industry involves extreme cruelty to animals. It’s one of the reasons some car manufacturers have made the switch to ethical/vegan leather (or at least have it as an option on some models). More and more consumers will choose it over real leather. We can enjoy luxury without others having to suffer needlessly for it.
This is such a great perspective. Yes I am against animal leather, too. It's just a car seat anything practical such as this vinyl seat is good enough. I suspect we are talking about vinyl and synthetic leather. I doubt BYD will use real animal skin leather. That's a lot of skin.
Thanks, I will collect my Dynamic next week, so I can find out for myself!
Congrats, and I am sure you will enjoy your Seal Dynamic as much as I do. I am still in the honeymoon phase. 😊
Can I ask how long did you have to wait for your car? When did you place the order? Thanks
Your videos have been so helpful. Can you tell me whether you got the additional extras like tinting, ceramic paint protection and the seat protector?
Thanks. I only did the tinting for uv protection. I didn't do the ceramic protection and seat protection.
This has just become a BYD channel
I'm having lots of fun with my new BYD like me having fun with my Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra (Bluey) some time ago. Speaking of which, that gave me an idea. I could do a video on how I use my Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra with my BYD Seal and vice versa, how I control my home smart lights in my BYD infotainment screen. Thanks for the idea.
Please review, the all different between dynamic and premium type model
You can find all the precise difference here:
bydautomotive.com.au/brochures/BYD-SEAL-2023.pdf
I drive the Performance and I honestly can't tell the difference. If anything it is a very slight difference.
Really!? Performance is so much more powerful. It definitely accelerates much quicker, not to mention performance has better smart suspensions.
I was replying on the quality of the seats, not the car overall lol@SkyPerspective
Not related to leather but hope you can help. I am interested in getting the karaoke mic. Does your seal have the charging base for this mic inside the cubby box?
👍
This is very plush. I would prefer real animal hide but don't want that carbon fibre silliness that they put as cabin decoration. Such a lovely car. I personally am waiting for the Seal U as sedans aren't practical in my country. Your videos are helping a lot. Thanks!
Real animal hide? That’s a pity because there is a lot of cruelty involved in the leather industry. Synthetic leather is ethical and doesn’t involve cruelty, which is also why car manufacturers are starting to use it more and more. Synthetic leather is therefore a huge plus. I hope you will educate yourself further on the subject and hopefully come around to an ethical and compassionate viewpoint.
Richard the Dynamic has no lumbar support as do the other two models.
Do you find this a problem at all on this car, or are the seats quite supportive of your back?
Yes I noticed that. I would say the Dynamic has fixed lumbar support rather than no lumbar support. Initially I was concerned about this. After I got my Dynamic, I can feel there is a bit of curve support on the lumbar, it's just that I cannot adjust it. Luckily, it is about the same position as what I would set anyway. The seats are sporty seats that cradles our body well, I love it. Only thing is that getting out of it can be a bit of a challenge. Maybe I am sitting too low to the ground.
Thank you again for the prompt reply.
Re getting out of the car the Premium and the Performance have courtesy seating which automatically slides the driver's seat back when opening the door.
Perhaps you could use the switch on your seat to do that as you exit or would it be too much hassle?
@anthonythompson1775 that's a good idea, I will try that a few times to see if that is a hassle. Thanks for the suggestion.
I have the Premium, the seats look exactly the same to me. I don't know how they feel tho
Are you sure, I just checked the brochure and can confirm Dynamic is synthetic leather and Premium and Performance is genuine leather.
@@SkyPerspective Yes I know, but from appearance, they look exactly the same. The stiching, and stiching colors... white and blue. I have never been in the dynamic, only performance and Premium. Maybe they feel different but who knows it might be the same thing... I would have got the dynamic if it wasn't for the extra range. I drove to Lorne on the weekend. 401 km round trip, started with 99% battery, got home with 20% left. Can i ask how much are you getting for your efficiency ?
Is the thread real or molded (both gray and blue thread)?
Both are real threads. I can't imagine it's part of the molding, that would be poor quality.
@@SkyPerspective I have not seen molded thread in seats, only in dashboard panels. The stitching looks real and you have to look closely to realize that it's "fake".
Looks very similar/same quality to teslas synthetic leather.
Oh really? I didn't know much about Tesla, good to know they are also using synthetic leather.
Synth leather is absolutely fine. Do some leather conditioning and it will last a while I reckon. Personally, I would want to go for the performance model so I guess genuine leather would be an added bonus.
I also feel the tyres in general at a let down for the range here in Aus. I get as a cruiser they are perfectly fine but for a little more spirited driving, one would hope to at least have pilot sport 4.
I know what you mean. Yes these tyres are good enough for me because I am after comfort and quiet drive more than spirited drive. Dynamic is not that fast anyway.
For anyone in Melbourne, the BYD Brighton showroom has a Premium for test drives, and a Dynamic in the showroom to suss out. Highly recommend visiting if unsure between the two
