The beautiful wahines of Uru Whetu. Taku Raumiri. Love the song. Keep singing girl's. Yous are born to perform maori dancing and chants and be kapa haka arikis. All the best in the future.
Yes, but no. As a person of Samoan, cookisland Maori, New Zealand Maori. I can very well tell you that cookislanders also have very strong voices, example; my mother and cookisland Maori side. But after all Maoris do originate from the cookislanders. Even on my dad's side (Samoan and Tongan side) we have quite alot of people with strong voices, not just Maori people.
I was so mesmerized by the lovely melody that I later realised @1:02 that this was a funeral/wake? And/or the person laying down appears to be getting a tattoo on their head/face?
So to be simple and & clear - Maori wahine ( females ) have a moko kauae which is seen on the chin and the lips. Maori Tane - ( males ) have a mataora which is seen on the face or the head.
Not a hate comment but I really think the girl who leads it of I think she will be really good with her arms down instead of her arms crossed but she is a really talented lady
This comment annoys me for some reason. These kids aren’t amateurs. She doesn’t sing with her arms crossed when performing or competing. BUT - they’re not in the middle of a comp, they’re there to distract and keep company the person receiving their moko. So sshh
You big kids Kori ana korua tonpepi to pap aroh kahori tenkaupapa anei te pakeha phone, not funny laughing at the babies while they showing talent to papa. Kore te aroha
