Great Recommendations for the hands being in the proper place at impact John! I feel if I keep my arms closer to my armpits and elbows closer to my sides, I have no problem in properly striking the ball. A month or so ago, I also found the correct wrist break in order to keep my left wrist flat and my right wrist bent back throughout the swing. With your help, I feel that my golf game is finally on the road to recovery! Thanks for all of your help!

Think this is definitely me Jon, sometimes on practice swings I have trouble making contact with the turf. Will definitely try this. Thanks

Best explanation of early extension I’ve seen or heard. We’ll done John! You go beyond in explaining not only what it is, but the cause and effect. Very helpful.

Nice video, if I draw a line straight down from my backside, then in the downswing a gap appears betweenline and backside, is this then early extension. thank you

Yep 👍🏻 some is okay and it can help you shallow the clubshaft but ideally your lead bum check would be on the line at impact

This is an excellent video. My father struggles with early extension due to a steep downswing which produces high hands. These drills will help him immensely. Just forwarded to him. Thank you.

What angle should I put my alignment stick? I’m going to try this drill on the range

Around 65 degrees but can tweak a little depending on the club your using.

Good video. This is a change that would be a killer for many to fix. It’s a reaction to something else going wrong. Could be grip , club face too open in transition . Just forcing someone to go low with other things array won’t solve anything

Missed a reply here. I agree high hands a reaction to other issues, generally an out to in swing path or early extension but I see improvements in these when the golfer focuses on swinging under a cane like this. Generally a combo of drills to challenge the golfer.

This is the first thing people should learn when they slice, took me 2 years but finally got this hands low swing down

Where can I find a thin cane for the cross the line drill? Thanks

Tour rotational sticks are good for connecting to the top of the grip.

I would like to try your drill. But I am not sure where to place the tour stick. Obviously, it should be roughly parallel to the shaft. But can you describe how far right of the ball (or shaft at address) it should be?

    • @TruGolfAcademy
      @TruGolfAcademy  Рік тому

Thank you! Around a foot and a half in front of me. To the right of me (away from the target, around 2 feet, just so I would catch it, if I went wrong. Clubshaft angle is around 60 degrees, depending on which club, so set a little higher, around 65 degrees, no more than 70 ( if you use a plane mate or something similar to hold the tour sticks, it has angles on)

In relation to your trailing foot, how far back should the stick be and where on your body should it point?

Hi Tom, is your question actually from this video? Lower hands at impact.
I’m struggling to work out what you mean?

I know it’s a year late, but he was asking where to place the alignment stick in the ground in relation to your back foot for best results and I’m also wondering the same! Thanks!
