in the 1970s and 80s the ocean went right under the boardwalk at high tide for half the length of the boardwalk. They dredge tons of sand and rebuild these beaches in a couple of weeks, every few years. The last job has washed away fairly rapidly.
I remember those days of sitting under the boardwalk when the tide came in. But there was more usable space on the beach in the days before the dunes. Thanks for watching.
