- One man who has been making his own kind of tribute to the heroes of the Battle of Britain 70 years ago is actor Sir David Jason. He came in to the studio to talk about his new documentary. He told Forces TV not just about the few but the very many who helped defend Britain again the Luftwaffe - and he even took to the skies to get a feel for the past.

I saw him 2nd August 2011 in Peak District in the mountains it was so quiet u see so he's safe there and I drove past him and his battered old car and he waved back
Can I adore David Jason even though I´m German :(? Sometimes it´s not easy, despite having been born decades and decades after the war.

this spitfire was flown by a New Zealand pilot called johnny chekkets,and he shot down the first German plane on D Day,There is an interview posted on You tube.
On the contrary, I´m saying that I feel sort of guilty about being German even though it had nothing to do with me!
I´m in England every few weeks, I´ve got close friends there.
