    You can actually create a gradient that does that if there isn't one there. I don't currently have Photoshop open to look at the steps involved - but you should at least be able to modify an existing gradient to have a transparent fade.
    If that doesn't work, you could always use a big 'fluffy' brush to get a similar effect.

  • @BrookeGodfrey
    @BrookeGodfrey  11 років тому

    Are you in a 'lower' layer? I'm wondering if you might be drawing on a layer that's being obscured by one above it. Also, check your layer blending modes. Try it on 'normal' first and see if they appear.

    Then you just need to go back to the outline, select the area that you want to fill, and then activate your wall layer and fill it there. Does that make sense?

    Thank you so much for the nice tutorials,very short and easy to follow :D
    I'd like to ask you about the gradient tool if you don't mind,
    why can't I get more than one shadow effect after I drag another line?
    I mean once I drag a second line it does take effect but the first one's gone!

  • @BrookeGodfrey

    Do you mean that it's still empty, or that you worked on the wrong layer?

    I normally use the burn tool, is there difference between these two methods, pros and cons?

  • @limguohao787

    I learned alot from your video tutorials. You are amazing! I have a question, how I save the file after rendering in photoshop? Cause I want to open in Adobe Illustrator and it seems all is pixelated.

  • @rudybahena1079
    @rudybahena1079 11 років тому +1

    awesome way to render, is it problem though that cad or any vector based program being brought into a pixel based program like photoshop? I would hate for a drawing to becoming pixilated or changing my scale of the drawing

    • @BrookeGodfrey
      @BrookeGodfrey  11 років тому

      Well, you need to make sure you have the floor plan at the scale you want when you export the PDF from AutoCAD. When you open the PDF in Photohop, you get to set the resolution, which I usually do at a minimum of 300ppi. As long as you don't make any changes to the image size, it will still be to scale. It does convert the drawing from a vector to pixels, but that isn't a problem unless you try to make the image much larger after you've imported it to Photoshop.
