I recently read Twilight Zone from Nona Fernandez. It was fantastic. It talks about the "twilight zone" of living in the Pinochet years in a really thought provoking way. I suspect you'd really enjoy it.
I love the Salman Rushdie nonfiction - read Languages of Truth and Knife this year so I might have to go back and reread the earlier collections if I want more!
