I loved donggook’s reaction to the pants because some parents would get angry for ruining the pants, and instead he put it on for Sian. You can see how happy Sian was at the end, this is my favorite moment of this family. :-))

He probably didn't get mad because it wasn't permanent, like having those papers (or worse, real cloth _and marker inks!!)_ sewn on the denim. Also, if Donggook was truly poor, he would have been more upset. But he's rich and they were just glued papers that can be pulled off and have the glue washes off, so all is okay.

I really love how Dongguk teach his children to live in humble way. I mean, he's really rich but he treat/teach his children with not alot of money. He didn't shower them with money but with manner. You can see the kids respect him when he said don't play too loud bcs he was tired and want to sleep, they do not make a single noise. (sorry for my english)

I remember, when I was wearing ripped jeans, they were new and were really pricey, I was going home to our hometown for the weekend, and my grandmother saw me on it and asked me why I was wearing those, she said they we're old and that they were already ripped and didn't fit me anymore, and the next morning, my ripped jeans were sewn. From then on, I swore never to wear ripped jeans in front of my grandma 😂😂😂

I've seen not over the top but jeans with coloured cloth underneath the rips. You can make them yourself with fabric scraps and a basic tack stitch.
