Please note: While Mark Antony was a real historical figure who indeed delivered a speech after Caesar's assassination, the words you hear in this video are a version of the creation of William Shakespeare, not a transcript of Antony's original oration. Shakespeare's 'Julius Caesar' dramatizes historical events with artistic license to explore themes of betrayal, power, and persuasion. The actual content of Antony's historical speech is not recorded in such detail. Enjoy this Shakespearean interpretation, rich in drama and crafted for the stage!

He definitely said something similar in terms of emotion and impact. He persuaded the commoners to riot.

Hail to the Divine Marcus Antonius Theos Euergetes! Hail Marcus Antonius Neos Dionysos!
Marc Antony is honestly someone for whom I need to sit down one day and really get to know more about. Dude had the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. I wish I had a tenth of His charisma. He was honored as divine at various points in His life and I gladly pay such homage to Him

Mark Anthony: Can I say something at the funeral Brutus??
Brutus: Ok, but don’t say something that will make people go apeshit insane and start a civil war
Mark Anthony: Proceeds to make people apeshit insane and start a civil war*

I love how the conspirators realized that Marc Antony was enough of a threat to know that they needed to keep Him away from them so they could assassinate Caesar but somehow didn't realize that He was going to fuck them over as soon as possible

I misunderstood your original comment 😄 The world of politics has changed surprisingly little in 2000 years, it seems.
