@@joemama6517 let me know who wins. 😁
Happy to see him being appreciated. He's had a long career and is still relevant in MMA. CONGRATS.
He wasn't appreciated because McGregor embarrassed him and made it look too easy
@@rickdiculous5655 can't deny how easy Connor made it look but he also made Dustin Porirea look easy to bear and he turned his career around.
@@lamaurprice7756 Dustin is a very special fighter though. He demolished Alvarez and mcgregor
@@rickdiculous5655 I agree he beat them both but Alverez has been beaten by alot of guys and Dustin didn't beat Connor at his peak. He beat him after a 2 year layoff. Still he won but it's better when you beat a guy when everyone thinks he's unbeatable.
Conor was a puzzle that took a little while to figure out. Still a great MMA force, but not like when he first arrived.
There’s not a doubt that EDdies wife is his biggest fan. I have seen almost all of eddies fight and wife is always there in the crowd screaming “EDDIE!!!!! EDDIE!!!!!!”
Yup. Lmfao. She's like world-renowned for that BANSHEE-LIKE scream. Hahahaha
It’s the reason I can’t watch his fights anymore. Imagine being the dude next to her that bought a ticket.
@@BartRunning 😂😂🤣
No he's hater.
She’s not screaming Eddie, she’s screaming edddieee! Lol.
Man that calf kick landed so hard it looked like Eddie got rocked from it as if he took a punch to the chin. Looked crazy.
I had to watch it 3 times ahah
He did get rocked, only it was his ability to stand on it was. Kicked prob hit a nerve and he just collapsed. Not a smart move to ground and pound when he wasn’t rocked by a punch his and mind was completely conscious.
@@drestarman it was a good move in that eddie isnt the best of his back. But with his chin you better hurt him immediately ot that American wrestling will get you
lakay guys they kick like mules... 1 kick
@@drestarman Folayang gave his back too. Horrible technique.
.
Eddie gets super hurt in almost every fight he’s in and recovers really well. His heart is incredible
Yes its a testament to his heart and durability as a whole.
The rocky of MMA
Both you guys need to chill.
Hes 30-7 now.
That's a great record in MMA.
He beat a prime RDA and possibly Poirier in their first fight which ended NC. But over a petty rule which was new. To knee a man bent over is a petty rule. Dustin needed an out so touched the ground with his finger and got ko'd. He wasnt down.
Fight 2- Eddie also was stood up while mounting Dustin for no good reason. Elbows on shoulders while he was mounting Dustin? Thats not illegal. Herb Dean screwed his chance to show he couldve possibly beat Dustin.
But Eddie isn't washed up if he's still winning fights against former champs. He beat Chandler 1x and Chandler beat him 1x. He has lost to only killers.
@@too_sturdy Marc Goddard was the ref that night. 12-6 elbows are illegal. Google is your friend.
@@aayushgurung8656
Only to the face of an opponent. But that opponent has to be downed amd and mounted to make 12-6.
Example-Jon Jones vs Matt Hammil
I've see 12-6 elbows to ribs and body, thighs recents from halfgurd.
This includes shoulders.
Google is your friend.
And if Marc reffed the rematch. My mistake. But he was not hitting Dustins head.
Guy rushes with wild ground and pound, wastes energy, then panics and gives his back without a plan. All he has to do was stay up and keep breaking Alvarez's legs.
Dude he gave up his back like it was a paid move
Dude rushed him as if he had knocked him out with that leg kick lol silly move by him
Yep, was definitely a bad move by Folayang, being the veteran that he is.
JetBlackThreat it definitely looked scripted
@@melancholypuppy3595 nagbintang pa. Talo talaga utoy, ikompara mo naman skill ng ufc fighter sa one fighter, ex- champion ng ufc yan. Mga laos na UFC nag chachampion pa sa one.
You can’t underestimate a ufc

Bellator champ also, i hope alvarez win a belt here in One that's a record, becoming champ in 3 major promotions in the world.
I still think that it ws bcos of Eddie alveras connor bcame famous.
Shelem.... Conor had great ppv number before Eddie alverez..... In fact before Eddie alverez, conor made more ppv fighting nate
@@johndiengdoh4332 what i still believe is that connor wudnt have held two belts simultaneously had there been other fighters likes of RDA or cowboy at that time in LW. Ofcours Eddie beat RDA to bcame the champ but it ws just a lucky night for him.
@@shelemwangsa9973 conor was the biggest draw in MMA before he fought Eddie and he was going to fight RDA for the LW tittle than RDA dropped out and Nate stepped in, plus Eddie beat RDA fair and square you can’t say nothing is lucky in the cage these guys deserve every win.
if you're not good on the ground dont go there, make your opponent stand up
this shouldve been an easy win for Folayang if he used his head
Yep
Indeed...
You should consider going into coaching full-time
its common logic even for viewers but I guess you've gotta take risks
@@snayperkill6218 nope, its a mental lapse on Folayang, he got carried away and thrown away the gameplan
That sweep was beautiful and perfectly executed
He would have been better off just letting him stand up. Was too eager to end the fight and got choked out.
Yep, Eduard made a bad mistake. He was winning the fight standing but made a wrong decision and a wrong move.
Yes he was winning with the standup, but he rushed in for the kill and showed that he needs to work on his ground game, and also shows his fight IQ needs to be worked on. He’s a really good striker though but Eddie’s ground game is high-level. I’m sure if they everything rematch , Eddie would use a lot more wrestling and I don’t know if this guy could handle the ground with Eddie. Because the difference between him and Eddie on the ground, it’s like a white belt grappling with a black belt. But like I said the guys got really good stand up. Would love to see what kind of adjustments, they both would make for a rematch.
Facts
foloyang got so many clean hits that i think he was expecting the ref to back them off. was kind of a shitshow from the ref and foloyang letting his guard down to check the ref constantly, big platypus play by eddie, he was waiting for him to engage the ref to reverse.
@@tommyraccioppi7100 team Lakay literally does not have any legit BJJ black belt or wrestling instructor. Wushu/Sanda stand up can only take you so far in MMA, Filipinos need to invest and import BJJ and wrestling instructors from Japan, Brazil and Russia.
The Filipino got hyped up by the crowd never realizing he's on a trap.
What power Eddies got from his back hooks the leg flip over his opponent finds his way to his back to end it with a rear naked choke , what a master of martial arts
Nice reversal Eddie from half-guard!
Too early to stop..
Not an easy fight for Eddie, that guy had world class power in those kicks. Great win, absolute beast.
Bad decision of Folayang by following Alvarez to the ground.
😂😂 jijedsu

Eddie is more comfortable on the ground than Folayang.
Eddie is still there grinding, respect from Canada
You can always hear Eddie's wife in the crowd at all his fights. That's real love right there.
Folayang never learned from his past loses always the same situation.
Tama ka never learned.
*Loses*, Jesus wept learn the difference.
I argee
Ang tawag dun ay TANGA. my skills, my lakas pero walang utak.
Need to add a ground game to folayang. Obvious yung hole na yun sa game nya.
That low leg calf kick is something!
And ended up with a L
Even in singapore, we can still hear eddie's wife in USA

She is a keeper
Eddie getting rekt with leg kicks AGAIN, Eddie's wife screaming non-stop AGAIN and Eddie coming back after a slow start AGAIN.
SOUNDS ABOUT RIGHT
EDDDDDDIIIIEEEEEE
LOL Again
Well done Eddie. The oponent was naive in the grappling game. So the experience from Eddie was so much for him.
His wrestling is crazy !!!! He literally lifted off him and put him in his back and mounted him 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
If you're talking about the sweep Eddie did, that's a very common move from jiu jitsu, nothing crazy about it. He traps Folayang's right arm so he can't post on it then hooks under the left thigh and it's practically effortless. Folayang should have recognized the threat and sprawled/kept his hips low and heavy but he was too busy trying to hammerfist Eddie's face into the mat. Excellent move by Eddie. Very poor ground IQ by Folayang.
@@borisumanov9308 there's absolutely something special about it, he wasn't fighting a weak man and he wasn't in the most ideal position, this was a super impressive feat of strength aswell as technique
You can hear Eddie’s Parrot wherever he goes.
Wonderd what you ment?! Then.. i heard it😆
EDDIEEEE!!!
man, eddie is huge. that upper body frame makes him look like a welterweight.
All of one championships weight classes are a class higher than other promotions. For example alvarez in the ufc lightweight division was 155 pounds. Alvarez in one is 170 pounds.
Also the ufc bulled him at 5'9" but one bills him at 175 cm or 5'7.5"
its welterweight here by ufc standarts
Alvarez is a veteran and a legend
A 2-time Bellator lightweight champ
A UFC lightweight champ
A welterweight champ in two different organizations
And has beaten the likes of Michael Chandler, Gilbert Melendez, Anthony Pettis, Rafael Dos Anjos, and Justin Gaethje.
That's a veteran right there... he never got panic...he take time and boom folayang got choke....
Its like watching Rocky. Loved seeing how pumped he was after that win. ONE isnt a consolation prize for "ex UFC" fighters. Its legit.
We miss Eddie in the UFC, but love that he is fighting in the best promotion in MMA, One Championship ❤❤❤❤❤
One championship isnt the best promotion in mma lmao
@@user-jp3hc4ux4e you're not making any sense

Makes sense now, but I disagree
if he comes back he need to cut again cos he will not want to fight at WelterWeight 77kg but here he si fighting at 77gk limit
Damm guy rushed in with the G&P like he rock the guy. Eddie fully conscious with one bad leg is still dangerous on the ground. Wish he picked his shots or let ed stand up with a bad leg.
What a comeback. How do you been fighting for a long time a long time. I remember when he was considered amongst the top of the light weight division him, and Frankie Edgar back when Frankie was a lightweight champion of the world. His ground game is very good.
If you hurt the leg, make them get back up. Don’t follow them down. Keep the advantage when you have it. Nice ground control and reversal. He slipped the legs in quickly and squeezed with everything he had. Great job Eddie!
folayang should’ve just let alvarez stand up and carried on with the low kicks...
Agree Folayang ground and pound was so weak
Very technical cradle into a RNC by the king Eddie!
Eddie silenced the crown real quick 👏🏽
Eddie’s wife be screaming down arenas since the beginning 🤣
To filipinos, this is painful to watch. Eduard is like our Manny in MMA. He's the people's champ. We love him so much.
To Asian MMA fans this is hard to watch, happy for eddie but still, goddamn
Its a sport, you win or lose but he will always be respected for the rest of the world. Scary dude i would love to see him fight Gaethje
Seeing your favourite fighter get choked out is 10x less bad than a KO though
As it was awful to watch but Edward rushed in too much and had a big gap in wrestling...
Gave that back up like it was his first damn fight lol
I'm surprised Eddie was able to sweep him like that. What a beast! Lol
Always excited to see "Eddie Alvarez" fight
Eddie's wife keeps screaming,
*"Eddiieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!"*
To survive that onslaught of punches and then go and win by submission is nothing less that impressive.
My guy eddie shall prevail once more.
Never underestimate the former bellator and ufc champion alvarez
The main problem of most team lakays is submission..
Is that the best mma team in Philippines?
What a beautiful sweep!!!!!
And that is a very basic sweep too, beautifully executed
Folayang never learn about his ground defense, he rattles when he's in ground position and give up his back when he thinks he's no way out of the position..
Eddie is a top athlete 20 years in the fight game n still fighting at a top level hats off 2 u sir
Biggest tactical mistake I've seen in MMA. Eddie went down from a lower leg kick. Should've been made to stand up. He was at least 75% finished with only one good leg. Instead he made a bad choice.
The crowd hyped Folayang so much that he went chasing the lion into it's den.
Fight IQ is very important, all that power ,speed and muscle memory is nothing if you don't use ur brain. Dude thought he rock Eddie, when really he just hurt Eddie in the leg. Therefore , it was pointless to go all crazy with his ground and pound. Eddie literally just grab the dude leg and did a quick switch move on the him.
From cripple to success
I know no ones gonna believe me but Eddie is actually a cousin of mine😂 I’ve never even met him though

@@voxxxxx68 plastic fantastic
I was not expecting that!!!🙌🏼 damn Eddie still has that fight in him
I bet that was his whole adjective from the beginning of the fight... submitting his opponent.. he never really got his leg hurt and if his leg was hurt it was nowhere near hurt enough for him to fall on the ground like that... I think he lured him in faking his leg was hurt because he knew he had a more sophisticated Advanced ground game than his opponent.... and from that very ingenious thinking he won the fight
That’s an insane hypothesis!
Yup Filipino fighter was fish out of water on the ground. Literally does not know what to do or defend the choke. This was a black belt submitting a white belt.
That kick sounded like a baseball bat, it’s definitely landed lmao. Eddie’s foot was fully planted too. So if Folayan was smarter and didn’t follow him to the ground, what is the next part of his plan lmao?
@@Yumm... Should've let the ref stand him up and continue the fight on the feet. Folayang was the superior striker but fell to the trap by Alvarez due to lack of fight IQ.
@@gentilewarrior definitely agree. That’s why I think the comment I replied to is wrong

Superb performance from Eddie. What a fighter
One of the best comebacks in MMA. Eddie came back from the brink to choke him. What a warrior.
Now that is why grappling is super important in MMA.

What the heck, unbelievable, very strong performance from both men. Fighters~! ♪
When was this fight?
Question? If the opponent is doing a choke? Can the other opponent do something to stop it or escape or is there a rule that if there is rare naked choke one should not escape ?
What a Comeback! Didnt expect that wow.
I can tell that ONE takes really good care of their fighters
Technique over strength 💪
Eddie Alvarez is 175cm
Eduard Folayang is 170cm
Still Eddie looks shorter
Folayang was so excited, he engaged in ground fight with the world class BJJ. He should fought Alvarez in stand up position. Hinintay nya dapat na tumayo, lamang na sya eh,nasaktan na nya si alvarez.
That was so close! Respect to the former ufc champ!
Eddy and Demetrius look way more jacked then ever!! Especially their last couple years in the UFC.

Wow!! What a reversal
The way he picked him up and through him over is incredible power.
Happy for him
well done, congratulation.. I like Folayang but Eddie is the better man in this fight.. good fight!
Wow great fight
Watched the live telecast and was sooo shocked that Folayang followed Eddie to the ground. Corner should've advised him against it. smh
Ever since the bully beat down episode I’ve been a fan.
Ganda ng pagkakaluto. Great job Folayang for losing the fight and winning the money
Is it just me or are they the same height? But apparently Alvarez is 5 cm taller, about 2 and 1/4 inch taller, but the way it looks Folayang is maybe even taller by half an inch.
Exactly, Eddie is insecure about his own height
I think the one that deserves praise the most in this fight is the referee. He did a great job reffing this fight imo. He recognized that Eddie was still in the fight defending himself intelligently and he didn’t stop it prematurely like I know happens a lot. And it’s not an easy thing to be on top of either. Olivier Coste did a great job.
Way to go Eddie, nicely done.
