Fantastic song! "All fall down" is my favorite The Sound album. I can't understand that some people (reviewers) describe it as hard to acces. It went right into my heart first time I heard it!
Great song! heard it first as a 15 year old, then 15 years later... I was in London in a train in the late nineties, a three hour delay.... someone had killed themselves on the track... me idiot that i am just being annoyed with my delay... not realising that one of my child hood heroes had just died
I recently discovered this band fuck yeah this Group is amazing i'm surprised I've never heard of them before rest in peace to the front man I can see why he was upset for not getting more of the spotlight they definitely deserved. I listen to their music and I hear a lot of the early 2000's post punk vibe this wonderful group was definitely ahead of curve.
I invite you to the party of my mind An invitation to the party of my mind Some talk, some laugh Some go out for air In the party of my mind They'll all be there All my friends will be there In the party of my mind There's a room for us In the party of my mind A place to be, a place to be found A room without light A room whith lights that blind These ideas I invite To the party of my mind Won't you come in and invite love Won't you come in, invite your anarchist friend Won't you come in, anything can happen Won't you come in, stay till the end There's a disturbance over by the stairs And her face looks round for me Her eyes say something's going wrong Some things aren't how they should be I invite you to the party of my mind An invitation to the party of my mind Some talk, some cry Some go out for air In the party of my mind We'll all be there Everyone will be there Everyone will be there
Dammit. I lost my speakerset. There are too much flies in my house. Dont know where they come from. The door is closed, the other one is open. In the Window they twirl, not to be catched. I got to get out of here but I cant concentrate to find my stuff. The flies will not be catched. Will go out to buy some fly catchers. I cant concentrate.. I will just put on this music on my Phone. Then it oversounds the annoing sound that doesnt let me think!! Repeat, repeat, repeat.. Bliss... Thank you !!!!! My neighbor yesterday threw my watercooker that stood in my garden! He threw it, so he could cut the hedge. I put it back, but its just not the same.. It stood there perfectly, without moving for a month now! The leaves of the plants corresed its preacance. The peace now is desturbed !! I keep looking at it, but it is just not the same.. :-( Eating yoghurt with a fork. It works.. Its importaint to eat befor I go.
Knowing about Adrian Borland this song defines what he was living through. Which when asked about himself he said if you want to know about me listen to my lyrics.
This song is about attending one's own funeral. The lyrics appear to detail a gathering of one's friends, the gathering is fueled with separate emotions. (Some talk, some cry, some go outside for air. In the party of my mind, they'll all be there. All my friends will be there.)
Very good reading. When I heard this song for the first time I could not escape the conclusion that it is very, very closely connected to Borland's mental issues. It is beautiful, has a party feel, but is, ultimately, chilling, just like the ending guitar riff. Excellent piece. I don't care what critics and fans say, but out of the three first albums I find "Jeopardy" the most consistent and accomplished and "All Fall Down" truly experimental. I can't help, I don't care that much for "From the Lions Mouth." But I love this band and remain baffled why they didn't make it big, even for indie/alternative standards. Borland was right in out of his interviews - The Smiths were not exactly 's...t', as he out put, but more like a (fashionably troubled) boys' band in comparison with the Sound. Much more authentic than and musically superior to The Cure. And they dwarfed Joy Division (which I love too) on stage. Borland and the company were excellent live performers. Joy Division were not. Great music, heartbreaking story, and lots of satisfaction that I have finally discovered this band at the age of 50, having missed them 30 years ago (I am not British).
@Jack D'Ripa I am afraid it is you who are arrogant, Jack. People can write whatever they like about songs they love. Why bring this offensive shit? Borland wouldn't approve.
you are all right. This album is one of my fav. Dont no why they (revieuwers) slamp it down. Borland (God hs his soul) thanks for my own party in my mind
7 x LIVE gezien en Adrian Borland 1 x solo. In Zoetermeer in 1987 allerlaatste concert The Sound ooit en in 1992 Adrian met The Citizens. Hij memoreerde voordat hij 'Winning' inzette aan het feit dat hij dat nummer op 5 december 1987 niet afgemaakt had!
Slechts 1x gezien in Paradiso in 87.
Maybe someone knows how do the do that noisy sound in the end of the song as does jonny greenwood in radiohead's morning bell. It sounds so sweet. So many words "sound" in the sound's video)
and the women voices at the end..mocking the man that invite someone to the party of his mind...its like saying you never going to make it, to love one person
That's one of the most haunting parts of the song for sure. Adrian suffered so much. I feel so terribly sorry for him. God, I wish he were still here, miss him dearly.
Don’t know if it’s just coincidence or not but I would wager James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem was influenced very heavily this song, particularly on the LCD songs All My Friends and All I Want - the feedback noises especially.
Sort of old new wave music.. not so strange ‘cause it’s a re-issue from the past. a bit dull mainly due to the voice of this guy who needs some music lessons. However, the instrumentation leaves a lot be be desired as well.
We are all here from different countries, we speak different languages, but we are still invited to this party!
I wish there was such a party
@@veroniqueboissacq3111 everyone will be there 🎶🖤🎶
I love the unsettling noisy instrumentation towards the end. Really gives it alot more meaning and irony in it and i love it
i absolutely love this song
Fantastic song!
"All fall down" is my favorite The Sound album.

It's a beautiful record. Naysayers be damned.
11 years ago response, I agree, it's my favorite album too by them.
Right! All Fall Down was released to generally negative reviews, but it’s actually quite great!
Critics opinions are virtually worthless
I wish I had been invited
+Ufuk Çelik Me too ;D
I was there
Really!? I'm green with envy! Tell us all about it :)
So you are green with envy can understand that for 100%. Can write a book about that time we went to see The Sound. Hug for you green envy person.
i would have never left if invited ... better late than never
What a haunting song...
My favorite song, thanks to my best friend who is in heaven🙏
First time I've heard it is tonight, absolutely wonderful. Best wishes.

That's an insane story. We never realize how interconnected we truly are with one another.

still one of my favorite songs! takes me back....
Never realised this was from 1982, sounds a lot more contemporary!
I invite you to the party of my mind
An invitation to the party of my mind
Some talk, some laugh
Some go out for air
In the party of my mind
They'll all be there
All my friends will be there
In the party of my mind
There's a room for us
In the party of my mind
A place to be, a place to be found
A room without light
A room whith lights that blind
These ideas I invite
To the party of my mind
Won't you come in and invite love
Won't you come in, invite your anarchist friend
Won't you come in, anything can happen
Won't you come in, stay till the end
There's a disturbance over by the stairs
And her face looks round for me
Her eyes say something's going wrong
Some things aren't how they should be
I invite you to the party of my mind
An invitation to the party of my mind
Some talk, some cry
Some go out for air
In the party of my mind
We'll all be there
Everyone will be there
Everyone will be there
👍👍👍
Thanks for the lyrics!! 👽
rest in peace, adrian
One of the most tactful songs about mental illness ever written.

This song gives me life!!
Como essa música me deixa bem..só boas recordações !
E a mim, igualmente...
The first song I loved by The Sound was "I Can't Escape Myself". Then "Coldbeat". But this song eventually eclipsed them. I think it's their best.
what a corker best song off this album and right up there amongst best Sound songs..i reckon
Mr. Borland Fan, the Sound was a fantastic band. Their albums were great. I can understand very good why yiou call yourself a Borland fan. Thank you.
i think its obvious that the sound influenced so many bands including the strokes
LOVE...THIS ...SONG!!!!!!!!
Omg .. 49 years ago i did the opening act in Ghent Vooruit ...talked to the man and then...
I agree. This is a great album. More experimental in sound than their previous two efforts, which were also great.
wonderful song
First Sound Album I bought, one of the best! USA
Great album - such a clever bright song

or the most simple explanation: he is talking about the many voices in his head bringing him down and up and everywhere.

This was a perfect single. Unfortunately not even one was extracted from All fall down...
Pure Class 👌
This is a very safe party. Enough (covid-19) space between the comments! More than a month on average. ;-)
" All my friends will be there"
But Adrian didn't have any friends! 😥
Heb alles van The Sound. Wat was dit een schitterende band. Helaas 1x live gezien. Bij Vera in Groningen.
Geweldige band heb ze ook live gezien zal ze nooit vergeten

A very positive song, I like it.

For some reason I hear a lot of this song in The Strokes sound?
