  • I took my Mamiya RB67 and a few lenses to Yosemite National Park and shot some Ilford HP5+ around the valley. Ansel Adams would shoot around the park often and for many of his photos, the aperture was f/64! I cranked mine up as high as I could go (f/32 - f/45) and tried to have the same spirit of shooting!

    I adore this video. This is the kind of quiet attention I love from photography. Just you, your camera, the composition, and the shot.

      Thanks Blake! I kinda want to do another one but with 35mm and do 36 exposures and have the video be like, 45mins of nature and shutter.

    Dave, FINALLY! So glad you made a video showing the beauty of Yosemite, just taking images. The Brits show off their countryside all the time. Thanks for showing off some of our! This is the type of video that makes me want to get out and capture images! THANK-YOU.

    Love the video Dave, how satisfying is that beautiful analogue sound of the Mamiya RB 67 being shot and wound on. I miss mine, a great tribute to the Master Ansel Adams.

      Thanks! This was the 90mm Sekor lens, and one shot of El Cap with the 250mm Sekor.

    I've heard a lot about diffraction with apertures beyond f/16. Did you see any diffraction-related issues on your photos with those apertures?

      The whole thing is a hot mess. I honestly gave up and wrote this lens off once I saw the vignetting.

      My go-to is the 90mm Sekor C, and for this I also had the 250mm for that shot of El Cap.

      Thanks for the prompt reply. For landscapes, I usually take 50/90/180.

      @Narsuitus 90mm is my widest. I inherited this kit, and it was a 90, 127, 180, and 250.

    Don't know Mamiya, but I knew it was film based on the hat.

    I guess "Leica" in the title gives more viewers. But since this is not about Leica, and you wont title the video like "I used Mamiya in this video", I would suggest this title to get viewers: "I didn't use Leica, Fujifilm, Sony, Canon or Nikon in this video". Would be better clickbait anyway and higher search result. Nice camera bag btw.... I would have included the brand in the title 😉
