Great video. Question: if you have a foam roof and need to install retrofit drains, how do you adhere it to the foam and flash over it? The roofer who did my foam roof did not install the drains and now I have leaking. I found the drains I need, but I don't know what I need to flash around it and get it to stick to the foam. Any help would be appreciated more than you know.
@@DaCake2 you can't ever put the drains over the foam. Foam absorbs moisture. You would have to cut and scrape out the foam to the base of the drain, install the drain, and foam it in. If you're referring to a clamping ring, you wouldn't use that on foam.
Overall great. But there's never been a 30 year TPO Roof. As the system is only just reaching 30 years since it's initial release, and the vast majority of TPO failed from 03-09 causing it to be reformulated. SO modern TPO is realistically under 15yo.
@Sak-zo1ui statistically, over half of all TPO has been installed in the last 10 years, by the manufacturers own admission. So this is factually inaccurate just based on manufacturing. It's also i accurate based on every study and survey ever produced by an independent organization, as the average recorded lifespan is 7-11 years depending on area. The largest major change, a near nationwide alteration of the formula with the exception of a single manufacturer who was bought out, changed in 2007-2009. By the admission of GAF, Carlisle, and JM, who formed a committee for the study of TPO due to the major failures of the early 2000s
A "mil" is one thousandth of an inch, or 0.001". 40 mils is 0.040", and is very close to 1 millimeter.

No. Realistically the newer products have been lasting up to this 15 year point. Not that it lasts under 15 years.
