Hey Rick. Congrats on the new truck. Earlier I had posted a comment with a link in it that got deleted. I didn't know I shouldn't do that . I know how you like storage compartments and if you search f150 gun storage, several interesting sites will pop up.
Nice truck. I hate where they put that coolant reservoir. It's right in the way of everything. Do yourself a favor and get some Weathertech floor mats. They come up higher than the stock ones plus they don't have any holes. I had them in my old truck and the carpet still looked new after 5 years. Plus they are all rubber so they are easy to clean.
I sold my 2012 king ranch dually and bought a 2004 tundra and so far it's been a good truck. I would like to have a new truck but the way things are right now I just can't see having a payment. Those new f150s are really nice.
Did same thing. Tundra to F150. Tundra gave me 225K trouble free miles but my F150 is way more comfortable. I got a used 18 platinum using Carvana. Their service sucks but their prices are great. I’m waiting for Ford to deal in that all electric set up.
I have had both, both good trucks. But my fords just seem to be more refined. No trouble with either. Currently have a 2019 F150 pushing 80000 miles. Would get a 2021 F150 but will not be ripped off by crooked dealers. Will drive current one indefinitely. I maintain my trucks above and beyond manufacture recommendations
Rick, you can press and hold both bottom buttons on the door unlock pad (7/8 - 9/0) at the same time and lock the doors when you do not have the key fob near the truck. This allows you to access your cab with your secret code and relock the cab even if you left your keys inside your house. You can reset that door unlock combination any time you want as long as you remember the current unlock code. If you never reset the code then it is on a sticker in the back or front of the owner's manual. There should be a little "pocket" inside the center console near the back on the side of the driver that you can set the key fob in and start the truck even if the key fob battery is dead. The truck has an automatic idle shut-off so you can't just sit in the truck and let it run Willy Nilly. You can turn off (or) over ride the automatic idle shut-off from the drivers menu but you have to do it after 'every single' start up. In other words, if you are stuck in the snow and want to keep the truck running until you run out of gas (longer than the 15 minutes it is set to 'auto shut off' from the factory) then you must go into the driver's menu BEFORE it shuts off EACH TIME. You can reset the automatic idle shut-off run time from 15 minutes to 45 minutes and it will stay at 45 minutes until you go back into the driver's menu and change it back to a lesser time. But the automatic idle shut-off cancellation goes away every time you restart the truck. You only get three automatic idle shut-offs, in one sitting, before it will not restart with out contacting FORD on the phone. That 3 shut-off limit resets every time you manually turn off the truck (on purpose) then start the truck and complete a "drive cycle" (what ever the hell that is). I guess that means drive to the store or something. Also you only get three 'remote' starts at one sitting. PERIOD. It will not remote start again until you go out to the truck and start it with the key fob in your hand. You CAN set the "remote start" auto shut off from 5 minutes to run 15 minutes between remote restarts. That setting will stay at what ever you set it to until you change it in the menu as well. Follow me for more FORD hacks. lol
My 2015 Ford F-150 with the 5.0 just clicked 400k motor trans and rear ended untouched, I just have it serviced very religiously all motor-craft products.

That's a sweet looking truck, Rick. I used to be iffy about Ford too because I used to own a 2015 Ecoboost that also gave me a ton of electrical issues. Unlike the 3.5 EcoBoost, the 5.0 Coyote V8 is a great engine with tons of aftermarket support. You may have to completely dissable Auto Stop/Start, its some BS that car manufacturers are adding now to "lower emissions". If you keep it on, your truck will shut off automatically at red lights until you let go of the brake. All car manufacturers are adding it and its F***ing annoying.

FX4 is the offroad package, like TRD on Toyota or Z71 on GM products. the integrated brake controller works awesome compared to add on units I have used in the past, you've got more room in front of the engine because it has an electric fan, the antifreeze tank is just the reserve for the radiator, it should have a hot and cold mark on it for proper fill amount, keep in mind there is another fuse box in the cab, I hate the push button start, you will wonder how to turn your dome lights on at night, you should be able to hold our finger on the bright adjustment setting for your dash lights and they will just come on. Your F-150 is mostly aluminum, so it feels lighter. If you compare it to an older, steel body F-150, the difference is dramatic. Probably similar to how it feels in comparison to the Toyota...
Yes Rick the doors will be lighter on the Ford because Ford builds their truck body’s out of aluminum, that box under your passenger rear seat is the power inverter, turns DC power to AC so that you have AC outlets in the car. The antifreeze jug under the hood that you saw is called the expansion tank, their is a standard radiator underneath of it behind the fans but the radiator won’t have a cap to it, you do everything with the fluid from that tank that you saw, coolant expands as it gets hot so the level in that tank will be higher or lower depending on how hot the engine is, and if it’s super hot and you open that tank it will blast all over you just like a regular radiator cap would if it’s hot. Super happy to see you got the V8, Fords certainly come a long way with their smaller engines but I’m personally still not a fan of smaller turbo powered engines in a truck. Enjoy the new ride!
