Woot! Another one done! I wanted to get another one up since I missed 4/13! Here's the thing I'm gonna say every video in case ya don't know: -I am not PhemieC! I just made the lyric video as a fan of their music!!! And also the low quality videos that were done in WeVideo are being remade for higher quality versions!- Anyways, thanks for welcoming me back! I really like the comments where some of yall talked about your initial homestuck days and when you found these PhemieC's fansongs(which are up for purchase in their bandcamp linked above!). It makes me feel really nostalgic~I was only 11 back then and I'm 16 now~ lol. Hopefully I can get Ugly Story out tomorrow! See ya then!

Gotta love how even when Vriska is apologizing, she's doing it in the most back-handed way possible.

- BetBlood - because shes still saying things like "Pity you couldnt fly!"and "with those two broken legs youve got!" which is pretty snide and backhanded since shes the one who mind controlled tavros to jump off the cliff and paralysed him in the first place. But I love how its slightly backhanded and snide but I can still feel the emotion and remorse. Its a very 'Vriska' apology and i love it. Im obsessed with both this and "Ugly Story" and love how in character they feel and how much depth they give to the characters!
the way I see it the song is some from two different perspectives: the old, pre devvelopment vriska, and the post-death vriska

this is why vriska is the best worst character ever. she's not as bad as gamzee, and she's not as like clingy as eridan so she's still an evil-leaning antihero but we don't have to kill her for it
I love how it captured Vriska perfectly. She’s apologising and still defending herself the whole time because of her pride
really it is worse, she ie hypothetically apologizing and fantasizing about how if she just did that then everyone would love her again while the whole time dimly aknowleging that it is so much an insane fantasy that people could love her she doesn't bother.

I really think, besides pride, she's done all these things because she really believes it's for the best for everyone, she created her own utopy were everyone is happy and brave and independent
And she was so emotional and desperate to make it real in any way, and ended messing up a lot and she knows it very well canonically
Still, she holds her point
you're entirely right. she knows she did wrong but she's trying to justify it. I love her and I relate to her the most out of all of the trolls but she really fucked up trying to help him. she tried her best in the only way she knew with the information she had and I don't blame her for that..... kids take in so much influence from their parents and unfortunately she has a very bad one, but I'm proud of her change throughout the comic.
"Twice I got the wind knocked out of me," is that a pun because she fell for two breath players and neither relationship was very successful?
I'm pretty sure it's actually referring to when she got her arm blown off and her eye fucked up, and when Aradia quite handedly kicked her ass, but that's an interesting perspective.
I think it could refer to both things. Double meanings aren't unusual in these songs.
I think she means when kanaya punched her and when Aradia beat her up-

Something i just noticed is that in both verses vriska greatly understates the injury that she gave the person shes talking to/about. "With those two broken legs youve got" when tavros is actually paralyzed and "shortsighted" when terezi is completely blind

His legs actually have been broken due to the fall, and later again in order to be replace, so that's not that wrong
And Terezi can still see see in her own way, so being shortsighted is somewhat a fine description
@@g.poupin1700 But I seem to recall Tavros being paralyzed completely from the waist down. If he were to have broken legs, he would still be able to maintain a bit of movement or feel pain in his legs. He was only afterwards given replacements because of conventionality.
Terezi can 'see' in her own way, yes, but note that she remains, for the most part of homestuck, blind in general terms.

I'm assuming this song is about Tavros and Terezi. I don't really like Vriska but the one thing I admire about her the most is her persistence and determination to get the things she wants/needs. I think she saying to Tavros and Terezi that their disabilities shouldn't hold them back.

i love how most of vriska's arc has her wrestling with her pride and the violent ways she was raised into adopting, and her actual regrets and remorse for the things she's done. She cares about everyone around her, and its the ones she cares about the most who get hurt the most, either from her "evening a score" or in her misguided attempts to "make them stronger", and she feels bad because even though its her own fault all of this happened, she never intended for it to go that far, shes just too proud to admit that she was wrong, and that enough is enough.
I thought I was going to be content enjoying this song without any context for the rest of my life, but guess what

@@channelnolongerinuse7148 the other characters def suffered for it, especially gamzee. gam was used as a joke and was given no development, and then was shoved in a fridge for something he was not able to really control (being treated like shit, eating sopor pies because he wasn't taught how to handle himself, heartbroken). Homestuck is disappointing in that way.
Ace Of Hearts true, i also thought other stereotypical characters like Eridan, Equius, nepeta, Feferi, and as you said, Gamzee, had way less character development than they deserved.
@@channelnolongerinuse7148 I havent finished homestuck, only on act five act two, but even now I see Vriska improving drastically compared to the other characters.
Nepeta is kinda shoved aside in this, only to become the first real victim of Gamzee. Sometimes I wonder if Gam was used to get rid of the characters that couldn't be used/developed.

Personally, one of the only things I like about Vriska is that of all the trolls, she was willing to do whatever she had to in order to get what she needed/wanted. Her sheer persistence and determination is really admirable
I don't feel bad. She's really cool and she did what she had too to do. (along with somethings that were less necessary :p )

I wouldn't worry about it too much, the vast majority of the fandom grew out of the cringe and are pretty chill now. The story itself is definitely worth reading

I'm not going to lie i actually got into the fandom in 2016. My freshman year of highschool. Its. Now 2020 and it's been months since I've finished the comic. I love it still and currently now on the train of updates with Homestuck^2. I wish I was on the first train of updates with the original one but I was in elementary and middleschool. I currentlystill see Homestuck peeps/accounts/cosplay active to this day and it makes me so happy because i though for while i got in late and was alone but then finding there was newcomers too and peeps like me made me feel less alone. Homestuck is awesome
I love how homestuck just continually has people constantly joining the fandom and making new content its truly one of its best points.

Vriska was my favourite. I hated her from the start, but I feel terrible for her. Yes, she's a bad person, but I really identify with her and the fact that she just wants to fight for her friends, even if they don't always stick by her.

I didn't like Vriska at all when I first read Homestuck. But after I read it for the second time I understood why so many people like her. Though what she did to Tavros and some others pisses me off, I understand that she genuinely though she was helping people. I like that Vriska is one of the only characters that didn't let people get in the way of her completing her goals. She was harsh but I guess someone had to be and she accepted that people wouldn't always agree with her.
