  • According to the Voice of America website, Pakistan witnessed the launch of its first lunar satellite on May 3rd, accompanying a historic Chinese mission, Chang'e 6, aimed at retrieving samples from the rarely explored far side of the moon.
Is this true? Dear viewers! Welcome back to our channel! It's a pleasure to engage with you again and discuss today's topics: 1. Why did the successful launch of Chang'e 6 garner so much attention in Pakistan? 2. What significance lies behind Sino-Pakistani space cooperation? 3. How does international space cooperation contribute to technological development in various countries?
In the vast expanse of space, the friendship between China and Pakistan shines with new brilliance, transcending the boundaries of Earth and leaving behind an inspiring historical chapter. The successful launch of Pakistan's first lunar satellite alongside China's Chang'e 6 marks a new height in space cooperation between the two countries. This feat not only showcases pinnacle achievements in science and technology but also vividly illustrates the deep and close friendship between China and Pakistan.
Reportedly, on May 3rd, China's Long March 5 rocket lifted off from the Wenchang Space Launch Center in Hainan, carrying the approximately 8-ton Chang'e 6 probe. If successful, this mission will make China the first country to retrieve samples from the largely unexplored far side of the moon. The Chang'e 6 mission carries payloads from Pakistan, Italy, France, and the European Space Agency. The Space Technology Institute in Islamabad stated that Pakistan's cube satellite carried by Chang'e 6 will be sent into lunar orbit, flying around the moon for 3-6 months, capturing images of the lunar surface for research purposes. The satellite's mission also includes "obtaining lunar magnetic field data, establishing a lunar magnetic field model, and laying the foundation for future international lunar cooperation." It is reported that Pakistan collaborated with a university in Shanghai, China, to develop the ICUBE-Qamar satellite. "Qamar" means "moon" in Urdu. This satellite is equipped with two optical cameras for capturing images of the lunar surface.
The Long March 5 rocket, carrying the Chang'e 6 probe weighing 8 tons, lifted off from the Wenchang Space Launch Center in Hainan, China. If successful, this mission will make history as China becomes the first country to collect samples from the mysterious and unexplored far side of the moon. Notably, the Chang'e 6 mission not only serves China but also carries scientific equipment from global partners.
Specifically, these international partners include Pakistan, Italy, France, and the European Space Agency. Through this platform, they hope to jointly achieve new milestones in lunar exploration. Taking the example of Sino-Pakistani cooperation, the Space Technology Institute in Islamabad announced that Pakistan's cube satellite, carried by Chang'e 6, named ICUBE-Qamar, is expected to orbit the moon for 3 to 6 months and conduct detailed observations of the lunar surface, providing crucial data for future lunar research. This small but powerful satellite will focus on mapping the lunar magnetic field to construct an accurate model, which is crucial for the success of future international cooperation projects. It is reported that Pakistan's ICUBE-Qamar satellite was jointly developed by a renowned university in Shanghai and Pakistani experts. The satellite is equipped with two advanced optical cameras specifically designed to capture high-resolution images of the lunar surface to support extensive geological analysis.

Pakistan has made a lunar satellite in cooperation with a Chinese university. This satellite has been carried as a payload in chang’e 6 rocket together with other payloads from France, Italy and the European space agency, a great example of a global scientific cooperation with China’s lunar exploration mission at the far side of the moon.
