When I was a child in the early 1960s, I envisioned a Dodgers-Giants opposing pitchers matchup of Jack Sanford vs. Sanford "Sandy" Koufax. And since there was no DH back then, at least one would have likely had a plate appearance.
Around the same time in the AL, also with no DH back then, we had Arnold Earley (sic) and Early Wynn.
Each of the above matchups includes a future Hall of Famer against a much less remembered pitcher, although Jack Sanford was a Rookie of the Year.
With much fewer televised games back then, it would probably be unlikely to find video of either of these matchups. Maybe the Sanfords had an encounter in the 1962 tie-breaker playoff series, which may have been televised, at least in parts of California.
Dodgers Will Smith is a total stud.
