Ok so I get to the part that you are entering the pin but my phone automatically goes to sign in with your Gmail account??

If send you to sign in in your G account that means that your phone has never version and The loophole it got patched

When you are on settings before creating a pin you can try to disable google services , gmail and play store . Maybe will let you create a pin or you can go all the way back to the activation process and try to activate without data maybe will let you sleep the activation process
