If you analyze the Wittebane brothers, you can see that the unnamed brother shares a lot of resemblances with Hunter. Face shape, hooked nose, the hair strand falling from his hair. Even in that picture of the two brothers that the curator showed, the unnamed brother has a cardinal on his shoulder. In hunting palismen, the Bat Queen says to lil' rascal "You finally found someone *after all these years* ". It makes sense to me that the cardinal on the shoulder of Philip's brother *is* Lil' Rascal. If we're going by the theory that Belos is Philip/descendant of Philip, if he made a grimwalker with the remainings of the brother's body, it makes sense that Hunter would bare these similarities and that he would call Belos "uncle", but it also makes sense about *why* lil' rascal liked Hunter. He's a clone of his previous owner.
Everyone before this episode: Creepy Luz is trying to take over Luz's life and may hurt Camilla when she finds out the truth! Everyone after this episode: PROTECT THE SAD SNEK BABY AND HER ADOPTED MOM!!!!
This episode was heartbreaking to me for a whole number of reasons, but I think the biggest one is that it highlighted the true underlying tragedy of the entire series That while Luz was able to make a new family for herself in the Boiling Isles, she ended up losing the one she already had.
This reminds me a bit of the movie of Guardians of Ga'Hoole the Owl movie. The family dynamic involves a father, a mother, two boys, a girl, and the nanny. They are all owls except for the nanny, and the nanny happens to be a snake. So yeah I am pretty sure there are more examples that have a great deal of truth and fact to them but yeah.
@@wolfkitty42Well yes it is, the movie came out quite a while after the book series. However I was not talking about the story simply because there is a movie of it, I brought it up specifically because I wanted to point out that there more examples of relations between snakes and owls in other stories.
I'm freaked out by the fact Belos was able to revive an extict species. I suppose it makes sense if the Grimwalker is what everyone thinks it is and he found some bones. Still, the level of knowlede and power this guy has...
I love that Zamber was immediatly protective of V once she found out about what she was. She‘s like a protective mother. This is exactly why this is my favorite reaction channel. XD
Well at least Camilla now knows about the situation, Imposter Luz is actually a Basilisk but she’s actually nice, and seems Luz found a way to see into the human realm.
I reckon Hunter is a clone or grimwalker of Philip’s brother. If their relationship echoes that of Belos and Hunter, it could be why Luz doesn’t know about him from the journal.
@@jbcatz5 That is fair, but I am pretty sure then at some point that Luz would find the name of Phillip's brother since the journal is quite detailed with his journey through the Demon Realm. I am pretty sure at some point it will mention them.
The moment that I heard V's voice, I heard amethyst saying "I didn't asked to be this way!.... I DIDN'T ASKED TO BE MADE!😢" cause it was the first time that I cried with SU😂
Wow this episode was amazing. I completely understand Camillas worry and beinng upset about Luz being in the human realm. Her line “did you hate living with me that much” really broke me. Wow season 2 has not disappointed so far, I excited for what’s in store in the next half. I just know it’ll be great.
I think the witch who lured the brothers is also the collector. I feel like the witch was trying to “collect” humans. I also think that both characters are Azura or who she really is. I would love it if Luz’s fictional role model not only turned out to be real, but is actually one of the antagonist in the story and Luz herself is the hero.
That sad moment when you see Vee interact with those high schoolers and realize that Luz could’ve ACTUALLY made friends if she had just stayed and gone to camp like she was supposed to
But at the end they might have never even been Luz's friends. Because they're friends with Vee and even though she's pretending to be Luz, she's still Vee
To me, that moment showed that Vee managed to fit in in the human realm better than Luz ever did. Luz's initial instinct when approaching them was to note all possible exits, which is a learned behaviour when dealing with bullies. Luz has been bullied before. Probably a lot.
I'm glad the Camilla finally believes Luz went to an unknown fantasy world with witches and demons. I thought she was going to be angry with her when she learned the truth her daughter never went to summer camp but no she was really scared what's happening but she was compassionate for both V and Luz.
This poor woman tried so hard to take care of her. She took time out of her work schedule to drive her to camp, played along with her interests even when she didn’t understand them, and above all, took the time to tell Luz just how much she was proud of her. And yet, in spite of all that, her own daughter still chose to run away from home, to run away from HER, to pursue her fantasy life. What’s even worse is the fact that she seems to actively blame herself for this, believing that Luzs decision to leave her was a direct result of her bad parenting, when that couldn’t be further from the truth I can’t imagine how heartbroken she must be feeling right now and I hope that we are able to see her once more before the finale, because there is obviously a LOT that those two need to unpack
First of all, everything you said is truly legit; Camilla IS going through some heavy stuff. Second of all, when people use the phrase "living their fantasy life;" it makes it sound like they're just pretending and fighting at shadows (like Don Quixote.) But Luz's life on the Isles has given her so much; a place to learn TRUE magic, TRUE friends that accepted her for who she was (eccentricities and all,) a supportive/devoted girlfriend, a best friend in King and a mother figure who works just as hard as her own on Earth. It's not that Camilla is a bad mother or that Luz hated her, she Luz just HATED the fact her mother wanted to send her to a place that could've done something horribly drastic to her personality. You saw how frightened she looked when "Creepy Luz" (or Vee) seemed so determined to throw Luz's stuff away, right? You're right, Luz shouldn't have run away...but the truth is she didn't ACTUALLY run away. All she did was chase Owlbert through the portal so she could get her book back. Then, when she learned who Eda was; she CHOSE to stay at the Owl House to learn how to be a witch...but she WASN'T running away from Camilla. As it stands; Luz probably intended to return home, at some point...but Belos destroyed the only way TO there. In short, contrary to what Vee might think; Luz isn't really running from her issues. She just wants to be in a place where she can receive the proper balance of being true to yourself AND taking responsibility. Until we see what that camp looks like, I stand to believe its purpose was to force individuality and creativity out of kids; forcing them to grow up (like St. Olga's School for Wayward Princesses or that camp Phineas and Ferb ended up in.) In closing, Camilla had good intentions...but the way she acted upon them should've been thought out a bit more thoroughly
but im still annoyed with how it was approached, she wasnt weird she was disruptive and problematic with her actions. She didnt really take anything seriously and only wanted to live a fantasy life, so of course her mother wanted to be a lil but more strict. I mean shes literally the one who chose to stay in the isle
The fact that you don't consider that Luz is still a child is quite questionable. She came to that place by mistake and don't expect what was going to happen, she was just curious, but she never had any intention of leaving the people she loves, she is not like that. Sure, she's not perfect, and I share the same opinion as the first answer. There is something very painful in not feeling comfortable in the world, changing your personality, it's nobody's fault! They just make mistakes, that make them bad people? Of course not, they are human after all.
@@sadlobster1 It didn’t help they weren’t on the same page. As much as Camila liked Luz’s creative side, Luz didn’t always show it in the best ways. She brought fireworks and live snakes to school for a book report. Luz needed to do some growing up for sure, and did that on the Boiling Isles because she was engaged on her level, in an environment that didn’t fight her nature.
I watched the episode last night on TheOwlClub site, and quite honestly after finding out the truth about Luz's "Doppelganger", all i could think was-"Welp, that answers that question" and as for Luz's mom well even though she'll now be living with a demon, it's clear that when Luz returns to the human world they're still gonna have some issues to work out.
Vee got really lucky in that the first thing that happened when she got to the human realm was getting sent to a place that specifically taught folks how to behave like a standard, normal human.
This episode was...a lot! So first off it all but confirmed that Eda is Stan Pines ex-wife with that "Marilyn" reveal (plus she's also a doomsday prepper, come on). Second, there were two humans not just Phillip and the other had a cardinal bird and short hair. That's the connection I think between Hunter and Belos.
I mean you can't say it's confirmed since both Dana and Alex said their universes aren't connected, it's just an easter egg. I agree with your second theory tho
Phillip had a brother who disappeared at the same time. Based on the book, it seems Phillip was shaking hands with a witch while the brother was holding what appeared to be a glyph and Belos's staff
actually, it was actually the brother shaking hands, while Phillip was the one holding the staff. If you look at the statue of Phillip and his brother in an earlier scene in the episode, and then compare outfits, Phillip is shown to have a belt, while the brother does not. Also, in both the statues and the drawings, Phillip is always shown to be standing behind his brother (in his brother's shadow, even?) What's even more interesting, is that when looking at the statue, the brother looks similar to hunter, and he also has the same bird as hunter in the drawings...
Luz telling her mom that she chose to stay, she should’ve worded that better. And since she promised that she would stay with her mom when Come back to the human realm is going to make it a little complicated. Especially since she lied to Etta and King about her mom being excited to meet them. I feel like everything is complicated it’s going to bite luz in the butt later in the season.
@@sadlobster1 Very true, I think it will work out. But I do think there still will be a little bit of drama with her mom. Then after will get a happily ever after. I also want her mom to meet at Amity and get all happy. And embarrass luz in a sweet mother way.
Yeah, I think that is probably the thing will pan out into a whole issue by itself. However, it is not out of character for Luz to say things in fragments like that in a manner that may be misinterpreted. The main part though in terms of character is that we see though is that her chosing to stay did bring enjoyment to her to live out her fantasy and Camila is very well correct on that part. We see something different though in Luz, when she she recalls about making the decision to stay in the Boiling Isles we as the viewer realize the sense of carelessness that Luz had started out with when she went there. This is not to say that she just throwing herself aimlessly towards only what she wanted, instead what we have here is a person who had a cushion of comfort with the comfort being the portal. The portal is the comfort because it is what allows Luz to travel between worlds, in season 1 she knows about it and is not worried at all about it until the finale of season 1. She never questions it because up until that point she did not think someone would take it and she would lose access to it. The carelessness though starts to shift over to Luz becoming more alert of the situations she is thrown in. This show is a joy for the growth of characters and their development as people.
@@numbernumber25 Yeah, Luz really did take for granted that she'd have easy access back home when she decided to stay in demon realm instead of going to camp.
I swear when Luz said to her mom that staying in the demon realm was the best decision she ever made I thought Luz, to quote Thanos, "You should've picked your words more carefully." In all seriousness though, that was one the biggest gut punching endings in this show to date, and to me, that's saying a lot!
They could have had a beautiful partnership. Eda helps with Mystery Shack displays (without using actual creatures of course, since even Stan draws the line at customers being eaten) and Stan supplies her with human objects she can sell. Her customers would have loved his I [he]eart kids balloon.
“Staying here was the best decision I ever made” While yes Luz could totally word it better I must ask... was she wrong? Some people say Luz could have made those friends at the camp but that is kind of a hard assumption since they made friends with "a girl named Luz" that was shy and nervous but not the dorky, awkward, bookworm and cheesy Luz that we know and sure maybe they could still bond but we are talking about 2 different persons. Camilla was trying to be a good mom sure but she hurt Luz making her think she had to "be normal", in the end I hope either Dana pulls a (much better executed) "Star vs" world merger or better yet makes Luz stay at the isles after her mom realizes something my mom told me: "sometimes your children's place is not close to your house but to your heart"
While I do partially agree with you, Luz clearly states that it was never Camila. Also, we have to note that her mom seems to enjoy Luz' quirks and interests and only started considering summer camp when the principal told her that's she's disturbing the other students and in some cases even their wellbeing (sending snakes and spiders out etc.). So I don't think Camila would've ever sent Luz to summer camp if her impulsiveness hadn't actively messed with her and other peoples' lives.
So we have an adorable baslisk little sister living at home Fun fact: I don't know if it was the inspiration but there's a short film called Foxed about a girl trapped with foxes who enslave her and she comes to a window where she can see her home and there's a fox immidating her voice and face for her mom
Here’s a random thought! There’s a theory out there that the secret symbol message from Season 1, may also apply to season 2 in some way Now, based on this episode, we know 2 siblings were lured to the Boiling Isles. So since Belos is cursed, and if he is one of the brothers, it would fit the “betrayal of blood” line from the secret message pretty well if Phillip (who we can assume is the other brother) cursed Belos.
Fun fact - From episode 9, when the diary is talking about how the others in his group were killed by Fool's Blood there was another set of footprints aside from his that looked like they were using 'human' style shoes; with deep cleats. The third set of footprints (of the two sets that weren't coming back) were bare feet.
You know, it turns out that creepy luz, aka, vee, isn't really scary at all, she's so nice and shy. And what a great flashback she told luz. I felt pretty emotional on that.
There's actually a statue of the two brothers shown when Vee was about to walk over to the coffee shop. One of them matches the silhouette of Philip Wittebane, and the other looks an awful lot like Hunter.
The coffee shop is called Robin’s Roast. Given the illustration of Philip shows one of the men with a bird on his shoulder, and Hunter’s Palisman is a small bird (who was noted to have taken a good long time to find someone by the Bat Queen), could be significant.
When I heard people talking about Luz crying, I thought something tragic would happen; like her getting stuck in the "in-between" area Phillip mentioned in his journal entry from the one illustration. But while Luz's moment with her mother WAS heart-breaking...for me, it wasn't to an extreme level. The main thing I like about this was the fact that Camilla FINALLY knows what Luz has been doing all this time...and she took it surprisingly well, which shocked me
2 brothers? I am so intrigued. With my current headcanon being that Belos is one of the brothers, and the other brother being an ancestor to the Clawthornes.
One thing that I've noticed is that Luz have been making QUITE a few big promises. A lot of which I don't think she will be able to keep without hurting someone. - "I promise to help the Bat Queen find her owner" - "I promise to help King find his father" - "I *MAY* have promised to have a life with Amity?" - "Now I promise to stay with my mom once I find a way back to the Human Realm" I may have missed a few, but......eesh.... Luz. My friend. I love you. But you are digging a grave...
13:51 That black ooze the portal was turning into before it collapsed and disappeared from existence 😰🤔, it's similar to the substance that the black amorphous horned form that Belos transforms into when he's gone so long without consuming Palismen 😰🤔. A possible connection between the two, maybe 🤔😕🤷♂️???
If you pause at a certain point you can see the statues of Phillip and the brother. The brothers features look a lot like Hunters, And Phillips features looks like Belos.
I think that Belos is actually Phillip's brother. Here me out - cause I have a couple of reasons : 1) Phillip's accounts of the Boiling Isles were all POSITIVE and full of WONDER. Belos hates it there. 2) We thought "A curse of feathers and mud" referred to the Clawthorn sisters since they were born witches, but there's no real proof that Phillip and Belos didn't become witches (like Luz) - and WHO have we seen take a mud-like consistency? and there seems to be a glyph in one of the brothers' hands and a cardinal that looks like little rascal on the other's shoulder. I think Belos betrayed Phillip - " a betrayal of blood"
One of the two brothers in the picture had a cardinal on the shoulder, giving stronger credence to Hunter being a grimwalker of the brother. Hunter's Palisman may have originally belonged to that brother.
10:55 Why is this such a surprise? Belos himself said that he was *once* in the human realm, and he has a nephew(Hunter), and a nephew is the son of your brother. Meaning for Belos to have a nephew(who’s clearly part human since he seems to lack a natural magic sack witches have), atleast two humans must’ve made it to the Boiling Isles before Luz did
When Luz lied at the end all I could think was: please don’t let this fester for the entire rest of the season. The next episode has to follow up on these events. Seriously though, this episode was art and beyond my wildest expectations. I never expected a “creepy luz” to appear, and when it did I certainly didn’t expect it to turn out like this.
Well that's quite the cliffhanger for now. I'm personally happy there was never a creepy/evil Luz doppelganger and Luz mom is truly one of the best cartoon mom's I've seen
This is episode 10 of season 2 there is supposed to be 21 episodes. How are we going to survive the rest of the season if we can hardly survive the first half. And god knows when the rest is coming
Anyone else notice how similar Graves Field is to Gravity Falls? Not just the name but also the fact that they are hotspots of other world phenomena. Even the idea of two brothers discovering weird shit whom one of them also keeps a journal.
I like how both of Michaela Dietz characters both were "never supposed to exist." An overcooked quartz not living up to the image, and an extinct species brought back to life. Both through experiments, and both, like you said, wanting to run away from that life.
I love how this episode made me ask a million questions but also answered almost all of them in the same episode also I realized that Vee is probably going to end up adopted by Eda. Cos Eda's gonna have an empty(ish) nest that'll need filled once King and Luz aren't living with her full time anymore, and Vee needs a mama.
The rats from the resturant's dumpster sounded just like Rat King from Hilda. Hope you'll react to it one day. It's really adorable but also adventurous. :)
Remember the first secret message in season 1 "Two Witches Torn Apart Now Alone Two Hearts Of Stone A Curse Of Feathers And Mud A Betrayal Of Blood" what if instead of Eda and Lilith it was talking Philip and his brother.
Another fun VA in this is Masha, Vee's camp friend who is the same VA as Azula/ Monster Girl/ Shrinking Rae/ Delilah Briarwood One thing I've seen a lot of people talking about is that the letters and Vee's camp friends "prove" that we were silly to be suspicious of the camp or that we were so stuck in Luz's perspective to not see the camp clearly. And while I definitely agree that Luz needed to change her behavior, that it might have been good for Luz to go to this camp and that she might have made friends, just like Vee did. I disagree that we were silly to be suspicious of the camp or that it was just Luz's POV that made us so. I personally don't trust any camp whose purpose is to "fix your child" in some way (because even if that isn't how it was phrased and the camp in actuality taught life skills, that is the purpose it was advertised to have). Camps that say they will "fix your child", or "scare your kid straight", or "straighten your kid out" are usually scams, that are run by unlicensed adults and usually get shut down due to abuse charges. This camp, was fine (it would seem) and taught life skills, but the way it was marketed to us at the beginning did not show that. "Reality Check Camp", "thinking in the box" and the image of a kid contorted to fit in a box, doesn't give off the impression that it isn't supposed to be like those camps that will use any method to normalize your kids. So, I am firm in my stance that I am happy to be wrong, but I was right to be cautious because there is very little to indicate that this camp wasn't bad news. Also, camp was good for Vee (thank goodness, I would have been very sad if Vee left the Isles to escape abuse and ended up in a bad situation), but we don't know if camp actually would have been good for Luz. And, like so many others have said, Vee is not Luz and so it isn't a guarantee that she would have made friends if she went to camp. 10:52 Hey, ya'll notice a little birdy on the one brother's shoulder...looks kinda familiar? You cut out the line of Camila's lines in this episode: "If I ever catch who's responsible [Stutters, gestures hands.] I'll el pa-pow!" (I think there is spanish I missed here, but I can't find the line mentioned anywhere that has it) and "Is this the only way I can touch you?" Edit: Also, how sad is it that Camila was so happy when she thought Luz was LARPing and inviting Camila into her game? She was so happy that Luz was "acting like her old self" and having fun.
I agree with your theory. When I saw the statues of Philip and his brother, the aspect of that brother reminded me of Hunter…so, maybe he is a Grimwalker of that sibling as Philip couldn’t handle the loss and not finding a way back home 🤔
Did no one realize the bird on the one of the brothers could be hunters palasmen it was probably belos brother and it can with them when they teleported and belos and the bother (sorry forgot his name) were in a fight with a someone or with each other which would cause belos to get hit with natural magic? Belos brother and his would get hit to but they die cause of this the birds soul would be turned in to a palsmen with a scar on its eye it was so heartbroken about what happened to the brother so it never found a good owner till it sees hunter a clone / grim walker version of a young belos brother and joins hunter. If you like my theory please credit me 😀
My thoughts after seeing this episode were that Belos is a Grimwalker clone, made by Phillip, to replace, or bring back Phillip’s brother who was lost at Eclipse Lake, and this could also be why Belos may have lived longer, and has odd defects. I also think Phillip found a way to place “Brother’s” memories, which is why Belos recalls that he has been to the human realm. A little similar to Zamber’s second theory, but that’s what I took from this episode.
I gotta give credit to the episode that it subert my expectation! I was certain that Vee was going to be an antagonist or that she lie to Luz that she will "help" her only to betrayed her in some shape or form! Now it look like Luz got a sister/ new family member when she returns to Earth!
When Vee appeared for the first time I already felt like I was gonna adopt that baby, look at her goooo 😭😭. Also I need to point out you look gorgeous in that shirt 👩🦲💞.
Ok so when Ronaldo guy was telling the story he said two brothers and the one with short hair had the same bird as Hunter. What does this mean. Also there is a statue that looks like Phillip and the brother. Is the brother Hunters dad if you look at the statue with short hair Hunter and the brother look very similar and if that's the case then Phillip/Belos would in fact be Hunters uncle. Also Luz, King, Hunter, and Vee would be the best of siblings
Honestly I love the mothers "she's trying to be supportive but doesn't understand and is scared" angle. I approve. Also my heart almost broke in half when Luz's mother said "I don't understand, but who knew I had such a strong girl living under my roof" Team Vii! She needs to stay with that family!

I'm freaked out by the fact Belos was able to revive an extict species. I suppose it makes sense if the Grimwalker is what everyone thinks it is and he found some bones. Still, the level of knowlede and power this guy has...
My thoughts exactly, Belos is straight up evil...
I love that Zamber was immediatly protective of V once she found out about what she was. She‘s like a protective mother. This is exactly why this is my favorite reaction channel. XD
Mine too!
YES SAMEE
Well at least Camilla now knows about the situation, Imposter Luz is actually a Basilisk but she’s actually nice, and seems Luz found a way to see into the human realm.
True
Not to mention the fact that Camilla knows where Luz has been living now, which was our girl's biggest fear during Grom
Yeah found and lost. Don't think we'll be keeping in touch unfortunately
@@sadlobster1 at least she got over it, except the fact that she has a girlfriend.
In the meantime Vee can provide more information about the Demon Realm to Camilla .
The fact that this episode may even slightly imply that Hunter was involved in live experimentation genuinely freaks the crud out of me
Most likely hunter wasn't really involved in the experiment and that just bezos was
I reckon Hunter is a clone or grimwalker of Philip’s brother.
@@opbossgg b-bezos?
Why does every mom in this show adopt every child they see?
I love it
The moment that I heard V's voice, I heard amethyst saying "I didn't asked to be this way!.... I DIDN'T ASKED TO BE MADE!😢" cause it was the first time that I cried with SU😂
Episode 40 will forever be imprinted in my heart
Same
I didn't ask to be made is such a mood tbh.
Now THAT would be an interesting turn of events!
they can´t be Azura because Phillip and his brother are both male. Also the explanation of how the Azura books ended in the isles was already given
Damn, this was actually a pretty good theory, too bad it wasn't true tho
That sad moment when you see Vee interact with those high schoolers and realize that Luz could’ve ACTUALLY made friends if she had just stayed and gone to camp like she was supposed to
I didn't even realize that
But Luz's friends on the Isles or even better, when you think about it
@@sadlobster1 Well, yeah! Plus the card scene definitely foreshadowed Luz's destiny
Probably a lot.
can't believe camila really hit that dude with the "chancla" , really nice episode as always
I'm glad the Camilla finally believes Luz went to an unknown fantasy world with witches and demons. I thought she was going to be angry with her when she learned the truth her daughter never went to summer camp but no she was really scared what's happening but she was compassionate for both V and Luz.
Seemed accusatory to me, but meh.
@@watertommyz She seemed to blame herself more than anything
The barista at the café called Eda 'Marilyn', I do believe that confirms a certain fan theory. 😉
Wait, is it the Stan's wife theory?
@@47ratsinahoodie Yep, I double checked Grunkle Stan's wife's name was Marilyn.
Don’t forget that Eda also matches the description
This poor woman tried so hard to take care of her. She took time out of her work schedule to drive her to camp, played along with her interests even when she didn’t understand them, and above all, took the time to tell Luz just how much she was proud of her.
And yet, in spite of all that, her own daughter still chose to run away from home, to run away from HER, to pursue her fantasy life.
What’s even worse is the fact that she seems to actively blame herself for this, believing that Luzs decision to leave her was a direct result of her bad parenting, when that couldn’t be further from the truth
I can’t imagine how heartbroken she must be feeling right now and I hope that we are able to see her once more before the finale, because there is obviously a LOT that those two need to unpack
Olga's School for Wayward Princesses or that camp Phineas and Ferb ended up in.)
In closing, Camilla had good intentions...but the way she acted upon them should've been thought out a bit more thoroughly
but im still annoyed with how it was approached, she wasnt weird she was disruptive and problematic with her actions. She didnt really take anything seriously and only wanted to live a fantasy life, so of course her mother wanted to be a lil but more strict.
I mean shes literally the one who chose to stay in the isle
@@blitz4506 what are you annoyed about? The show addressed all of that
The fact that you don't consider that Luz is still a child is quite questionable.
At least Luz has an adopted sister now!
@@HenshinFanatic Might as well confirm Vee is now Luz’s sister, indeed.
Vee got really lucky in that the first thing that happened when she got to the human realm was getting sent to a place that specifically taught folks how to behave like a standard, normal human.
Lol I never thought about it.
@@LoreCatan I hope we get a surprise Stan cameo just to spite everyone.
The end was a heartbreaking moment we’ll get more in the next months after the hiatus is over
The wait is going to be torture!
@@victorhernandez8723 It still is!
Also, in both the statues and the drawings, Phillip is always shown to be standing behind his brother (in his brother's shadow, even?)
What's even more interesting, is that when looking at the statue, the brother looks similar to hunter, and he also has the same bird as hunter in the drawings...
After learning the truth, Camilla might actually BE eager to see Eda; you never know
@@sadlobster1 Very true, I think it will work out. But I do think there still will be a little bit of drama with her mom. Then after will get a happily ever after. I also want her mom to meet at Amity and get all happy. And embarrass luz in a sweet mother way.
Yah i mean, it IS called "Yesterday's Lie", the lies are so gonna catch up to luz
I swear when Luz said to her mom that staying in the demon realm was the best decision she ever made I thought Luz, to quote Thanos, "You should've picked your words more carefully."
In all seriousness though, that was one the biggest gut punching endings in this show to date, and to me, that's saying a lot!
The quote is "You should have aimed for the head."
...and Thor did indeed aim for the head.
@@watertommyz ...you do realize I was refering to the beginning of the movie and not the end of the movie, right?
Stan: My ex-wife still misses me, BUT HER AIM IS GETTING BETTER!
I really don’t think “Marilyn” Pines does miss him but she does have in fact have great aim. Maybe Eda just needs a frog to call her husband.
@@caseyp5861 Or a bard to call to call her spouse
They could have had a beautiful partnership. Eda helps with Mystery Shack displays (without using actual creatures of course, since even Stan draws the line at customers being eaten) and Stan supplies her with human objects she can sell. Her customers would have loved his I [he]eart kids balloon.
So that’s how Eda was able to get a bullseye
That Secrets of Gravesfield thing probably isn’t junk, Luz....
Ugh...do not want a rushed word merge....again. dana seems a lot more creative and promising tho.
Zamber at the beginning with Vee: *awful, weird, I hate you*
Zamber at the end with Vee: *baby, baby girl, gorgeous*
Wasn't that all of the fandom?
So we have an adorable baslisk little sister living at home
Fun fact: I don't know if it was the inspiration but there's a short film called Foxed about a girl trapped with foxes who enslave her and she comes to a window where she can see her home and there's a fox immidating her voice and face for her mom

Here’s a random thought!
There’s a theory out there that the secret symbol message from Season 1, may also apply to season 2 in some way
Now, based on this episode, we know 2 siblings were lured to the Boiling Isles. So since Belos is cursed, and if he is one of the brothers, it would fit the “betrayal of blood” line from the secret message pretty well if Phillip (who we can assume is the other brother) cursed Belos.
Maybe not curse. Maybe other kind of betrayal
Just spitballing here, maybe the blood in question is Titans’s blood
Fun fact - From episode 9, when the diary is talking about how the others in his group were killed by Fool's Blood there was another set of footprints aside from his that looked like they were using 'human' style shoes; with deep cleats. The third set of footprints (of the two sets that weren't coming back) were bare feet.
You know, it turns out that creepy luz, aka, vee, isn't really scary at all, she's so nice and shy. And what a great flashback she told luz. I felt pretty emotional on that.
Next thing you know, Evil Morty isn't evil
"witches from Mars building a time machine", i watch many cartoons but that was most ridiculous and "WTF" moment i ever heard.
Now that the owl house train has left us time to clean the swamppools and welcome in the frog train. Amphibia season 3 here we come HYPE
That ending hits hard, but I just cannot seem to cry at anything sad anymore, and that honestly makes me sad.
Or Hunter.
Welp, that turned out to be true in all regards
The inside of the portal reminded me a little of how I used to imagine the lakes in The Magician's Nephew from The Chronicles of Narnia.
One thing that I've noticed is that Luz have been making QUITE a few big promises. A lot of which I don't think she will be able to keep without hurting someone.
- "I promise to help the Bat Queen find her owner"
- "I promise to help King find his father"
- "I *MAY* have promised to have a life with Amity?"
- "Now I promise to stay with my mom once I find a way back to the Human Realm"
I may have missed a few, but......eesh....
Luz.
My friend.
I love you.
But you are digging a grave...
I like that the mom immediately called out the fact that Luz was playing out a witch fantasy.
I just watched the episode and I was waiting for Zamber's reaction! Honestly, I don't think any of us are/were mentally prepared..
Same but I was a bit disappointed because I did not cry but it was hart touching
1:42 Omg Pearl's voice always gets me LMAO
remember when dana said we could expect "pain" this season? it seems that she was not joking... (💜)
If you must know, Vee is voiced by Michaela Dietz, aka Amethyst from Steven Universe. We met at a convention a few years ago. Nice girl 😌
That went from "YOU DEMON, GET AWAY FROM CAMILA" to "if anything happen to him i will kill everyone in this room and then myself" really fricking fast
If you pause at a certain point you can see the statues of Phillip and the brother. The brothers features look a lot like Hunters, And Phillips features looks like Belos.
Everyone who was saying Camila is a bad mom can have a good slice of their words now 😁
I think that Belos is actually Phillip's brother. Here me out - cause I have a couple of reasons :
1) Phillip's accounts of the Boiling Isles were all POSITIVE and full of WONDER.
I’m getting Luca vibes out of V’s inner struggles and troubled nature.
right when vee spoke i was like NO WAY IT’S AMETHYST, i love her voice actor so much
10:55 Why is this such a surprise?
Should be noted that the statue of Philips brother (Yes, there's a statue of both of them in the episode) looks just like an older Hunter.
I love the reference to both pilot and beta luz with vi.
I love the fact that Mama hit him with a shoe. lol
Bro the "imagery" in the end with Luz "floating" made me cry
Anyone else notice how similar Graves Field is to Gravity Falls? Not just the name but also the fact that they are hotspots of other world phenomena. Even the idea of two brothers discovering weird shit whom one of them also keeps a journal.
Do not want to meet the Owl House version of Bill.
I like how both of Michaela Dietz characters both were "never supposed to exist." An overcooked quartz not living up to the image, and an extinct species brought back to life. Both through experiments, and both, like you said, wanting to run away from that life.
Its really cool how much zamber like thinks about the episode and like catches on to what's gonna happen.
This is the saddest yet sweetest episode ever
Did anyone else realize that V is voiced by Amethyst’s voice actress
Michaela Dietz, that's who it is people don't seem to look up her name a lot.
I love how this episode made me ask a million questions but also answered almost all of them in the same episode
also I realized that Vee is probably going to end up adopted by Eda. Cos Eda's gonna have an empty(ish) nest that'll need filled once King and Luz aren't living with her full time anymore, and Vee needs a mama.
That opening scene where Luz is trying to activate the portal looks to be a reference to the Amphibia/Owl House crossover!
The rats from the resturant's dumpster sounded just like Rat King from Hilda. Hope you'll react to it one day. It's really adorable but also adventurous. :)
We all judged a book by its cover
Also the way the basilisk stuck that landing
Remember the first secret message in season 1 "Two Witches Torn Apart Now Alone Two Hearts Of Stone A Curse Of Feathers And Mud A Betrayal Of Blood" what if instead of Eda and Lilith it was talking Philip and his brother.
Another fun VA in this is Masha, Vee's camp friend who is the same VA as Azula/ Monster Girl/ Shrinking Rae/ Delilah Briarwood
One thing I've seen a lot of people talking about is that the letters and Vee's camp friends "prove" that we were silly to be suspicious of the camp or that we were so stuck in Luz's perspective to not see the camp clearly.
You cut out the line of Camila's lines in this episode: "If I ever catch who's responsible [Stutters, gestures hands.] I'll el pa-pow!" (I think there is spanish I missed here, but I can't find the line mentioned anywhere that has it) and "Is this the only way I can touch you?"
Edit: Also, how sad is it that Camila was so happy when she thought Luz was LARPing and inviting Camila into her game? She was so happy that Luz was "acting like her old self" and having fun.
7:45 vee is real name is number 5 that sound like already got name same character as netflix umbrella academy
The door looks like an hour glass. Which is fitting as it’s use is limited compared to the old door.
Camila used the most dangerous thing:
THE CHANCLA
Did anyone realized that her name is Vi, which is the pronunciation of the Roman number for 5, number five
I THOUGHT I KNEW THAT VOICE FOR THE SECOND LUZ! Now that you said it it sounds exactly like Amethyst. Maybe with a little dry throat.
That Baloz guy is right we need to connect the realms
I agree with your theory.
When I saw the statues of Philip and his brother, the aspect of that brother reminded me of Hunter…so, maybe he is a Grimwalker of that sibling as Philip couldn’t handle the loss and not finding a way back home 🤔
The thing is.....The voice actor for Vee is the exact voice actor for amethyst from SU. That's why she sounded so much like her. Michaela Dietz 😭
I love how Michaela Dietz now voice two nonhuman shape-shifters that are both runaways and both like munching on her snacks.
In the way how that family picture was shown, I think Luz's dad was gone, and that makes the scene even heavier to me.
If you like my theory please credit me 😀
I feel like this episode serves as a “HA! YOU THOUGHT! GOTEM!” episode
Ah, one of the oldest enemy of the protagonist. Poor communication.
Luz's mother is a refection of many of the traits in our goofball. Kindness, Passion, sigh and Cowardness.
2:06 and here we have a perfect imitation of pearl's famous "what?!" scream
I gotta give credit to the episode that it subert my expectation! I was certain that Vee was going to be an antagonist or that she lie to Luz that she will "help" her only to betrayed her in some shape or form! Now it look like Luz got a sister/ new family member when she returns to Earth!
When Vee appeared for the first time I already felt like I was gonna adopt that baby, look at her goooo 😭😭.
Also I need to point out you look gorgeous in that shirt 👩🦲💞.
I like how V has the same name, backstory, & name-backstory as V from V for 'Vendetta'
I approve.
Also my heart almost broke in half when Luz's mother said "I don't understand, but who knew I had such a strong girl living under my roof"
Team Vii! She needs to stay with that family!
