This is basically all that's on my mind these days. I'm in an international marriage, and frankly I think we are safer overseas. I'm not worried about nuclear weapons or terrorists. I'm thinking one 'wrong move' and we are evicted, homeless, in poverty. Even the richest Americans below the oligarchs are one bad life changing experience away from food stamps. Our government, even these news programs, are primarily concerned with how we can maintain wealth for the wealthy. Every economic crisis is really about how much it's going to 'hurt' the super rich and secondly their minimum wage employees as if the latter were just a dressing or topping. I just don't feel economically or socially safe in my home country, the United States, not for at least a decade now. I want to go home spiritually, but practically that would be a bad move for the forseeable future.
