    Its mind blowing that a 1985 Chevy Caprice had a 165 HP 305 V8 but the best and most powerful V8 in any Cadillac in these years was a 135 HP HT 4100. And the Caprice was around 13K new versus well over 20 for the Deville/Fleetwood!

      Occasionally I see one for sale. They seem to sell higher than 4 door coupes. Anthony from Specialty Motor cars has a few he has collected and seen in his video's. One he recently got was an early 80's with blue velour interior.

    Loved my 85 Eldorado Coupe in Jade Grey, white leather interior and white cabriolet top. Wish I still had it. Best design of all the Eldorados, along with the Original Seville.

    Compared to today's vehicles where you sit in grey blob with an Ipad stuck on the dash. I knew two gals with the red Eldo convertible back in the day. It was a head turner going down the road because everyone knew it was, like, $36K to buy one.

    My father in law had a special edition eldorado from Bramen Cadilliac in Florida , it was one of only 5 made with the colors of Gucci. His was silver with gold accents of Gucci emblems. The landau top was Gucci signature material, as was the interior seating. Very nice.

    Standard equipment was an eventual catastrophic water leak. The Olds 307 saved GM's big car bacon after that mess.

    I once had a 1989 Brougham. It always drove me nuts that there was a blank panel just to the right of the climate control panel. It makes sense that the '89's carburetor 307 Olds would not have the ability to feed the fuel data panel, but I wonder if the optional diesel in 1985 also put a blank in the same spot? I would think so.

    • @andrewcolsen
      @andrewcolsen 2 роки тому

      Before those trip computers where put in those cars in 1981, that spot on the 1977 - 1980 rear wheel drive Cadillacs was for the rear window defog switch and/or the power antennae shut off switch.

    • @josephvetter7085
      @josephvetter7085 2 роки тому

      @@andrewcolsen Cool. My memory is fuzzy, but I think the rear defrost was moved to the climate control, and by the time of the trip computer maybe it didn’t matter if the radio antenna was controlled only by the radio.

    • @TeeroyHammermill
      @TeeroyHammermill Рік тому

      @josephvetter7085: Yup the diesel and V6 models had a blank panel there. It was supposed to be a sensor for an optional remote control for the climate control and radio but I've never seen one with that feature. Hindsight 20/20 they should've put a digital compass there.

    Was the 1985 Eldorado convertible done by ASC?

    • @timw8228
      @timw8228 2 роки тому +1

Wen I had 6ppl in it lord was it slow from stand still trying to reach highway nominal speeds. But, it was beautiful, I had da Caddy tru spokes & VOGUE tyres. White exterior, red leather interior. I wish I kept in in my garage
