Excellent presentation on a simple subject that many C5 owners are unaware of. The locking nuts should never be used. Better to replace with aftermarket ones that can replace lost lug keys. I am surprised how many do not realize the importance of using a torque wrench when mounting wheels. Thanks for sharing.
@andytaylor5712 Yes sir, I’ve used that spot. My plan was to find a second key to keep in the glove box and leave one in the trunk “divot”, but never found a 2nd key. I have a carpet and a formed Weathertech mat in my hatchback that makes getting into the storage area a little difficult but keeps the carpet and the napped surface below the carpet looking new. Life is about trade offs.😅
Good to hear from you again DKW. Any progress on finding your C5? I’m sending they are becoming a hot commodity for younger folks who want an affordable, reliable sports car that they can mod to make their own. Feels a little like Gen X saw the C5 as their Dad’s car (and it was) and Gen Y is determining grandad had a good thing going!
Hey, I’m not far behind you; so once you contort yourself getting in (stretching) and drag yourself out (strength training) you pretty much have your whole body workout in!
Thanks. Just bought an “extending 1/2” ratchet” from Hobo Freight today along with a dedicated 2” extension and 13/16” deep impact socket. Trying to put together a light dual scissor jack system I can store in the rear cargo area.
All in all I feel it’s a good swap. I know there is often a desire to keep everything “original”. I believe the better game with these cars is to make them better and drive them more!

My pleasure Nikki and thanks for watching and providing input.
Did you know, there is a "Special Place" to store the key in the trunk under the carpet in-between to the small bin on the left and large bin???

Well, I’m 68 now so I don’t think a C5 is realistically in the cards but I can dream and have one through watching your videos !! Thanks !!

Okay, more great advice !!!
The lug nuts look great. I usually take the locking and plastic nuts off before it gets serviced. Great video I might make a change
