This past season, Randle played with JB initiating the offense before he got injured and they had figured it out. I have confidence Randle will fit with this group great. As for the Bridges trade, essentially they traded 2 extra high 1st rd. picks so JB would sign and save them 100 million dollars, and if Bridges resigns on a team friendly contract than we didnt sell the farm, we sold some future seeds so we can plant a flourishing crop the next 3-5 years. The Knicks future bright!
fair, i didn't expect JB to take the reduced contract he did which i'm not sure many folks expected either. to me, NYK has cultivated the closest chemistry to OKC in how its core has (or is) growing together as a unit. that simple fact brings a swath of upside that's virtually impossible to replicate other than what OKC was able to do. not only on the court either, as it enables what you're talking about: guys trusting the franchise for trusting them so they take team-friendly contracts. so it's entirely plausible bridges follows suit and gets me interested to see how far the strategy can go especially when you think about impeding financial binds coming down the pipeline for young cores like OKC, HOU, ORL, etc. it'll be interesting to see what's possible or if everyone's owner jumps ship once it reaches a breaking point like BOS' lol.
