- Join me as I prep to make trouser pattern Simplicity 9647. Trousers are the top garment sewists approach with fit challenges, waist, hips, and especially the front and back crotch(rise) areas. We begin with measurements, reading the back of the pattern envelope to determine size to cut as you compare body measurements to finish garment measurements.
- determine size to cut (what's your body measurements and how much ease is comfortable for you as you review the finished garment measurements?
- measure the front and back crotch lines on the actual pattern and compare to your body measurements
- make adjustments to the pattern- most commonly the back crotch(rise) - all on the pattern before cutting into fabric

You’re so welcome! Love sharing the good stuff
WoW thank you so much. I haven’t sewed pants before but I am going to try this month.
Love this! I saved the reel that you did on this on IG. I use your exact instructions and have been getting a good fit and when I forget to make the adjustments...it never works. This video will help me get a great fit. Thank you.
Thanks 🧵🪡🧵🪡🫶
Okay I like the way it fits can you show us the the instructions of the pattern how did they come out is it another video
Thank you so much, you’re a very good explainer! I do have a question, why did you measure the cut line on the crotch curve and not the seam allowance line? Thank you!😊
Hey Barbara - I measured the line without the seam allowance on each end seam. I always think there’s nothing wrong with a little ease in your measurments, especially in the crotch area
@@NikkiGSewingMyStyle that makes sense! Thanks 😊
