I AM VERY HAPPY TO SEE YOU SMILING AT THE BOTTOM OF THAT TREE, YOUR SMILE WAS WORTH THE TIME, THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR THIS GREAT VIDEO . OREGON AND B.C. SHARE SIMILAR NICE TIMBER IN AREAS
Buckin' I'm with you on that smile. It seems like life has ruff our friend up lately. I think I can speak for all of us when I say I'm glad to see his spirits lifted once again. Thank you Buckin for who you are and what you do.
I'm glad I watched this...I used to watch Buckin' Billy all the time...Too much, really...and got burrned out on him. I've had a bit of a break and you reminded me to go back to his channel. Good job on that tree...laid it right where you said you were going to.
Hey august. I work for the post office at a mail processing plant in Maine. Although it seems counterintuitive sending the axe that way will insure it's well cared for. Generic boxes blend in with each other of which I see 100,000 a day. But an axe stands out and also would be hand processed so it doesn't break or cut a machine. Your partner is also correct that someone will inevitably take a few mock swings. I am a hobby arborist and have learned much from you and billy. Thank you very much for all you do. Stay safe. Mike "mailman" from maine
Hi Mr Hunicke - Im a big fan of Buckin Billy Ray (he made me a monster of an axe - a double bit wood splitter hung on a 36inch handle that is my pride and joy - it was his own axe head that he used for years that makes it even more special). I just watched this video and it made me feel on top of the world seeing you get that axe. All the very best to you and your family - wishing you much joy with the Buckin Special. And yes that packaging is unique - took me hours to unwrap mine - haha
Nice work! Great axe made by a special guy for another great tree man. The comradery that exist amongst tree brethren is amazing and what a show you two guys put on. All I could think about was how many board square feet where in those large logs as you guys dropped them and how much your saw mills pay for timber in your area but I know anymore most mills don't pay what they used to do it makes it almost not worth the time to get a load to them for pennies on the dollar so to speak. I love the sound of that 880 too August. Keep up the good work!
Yup. You gotta know when to play it safe. And good onya for not leaving that Oak with a hanger! I lost a lot clearing job a couple of years ago, to some guy who never climbed a single tree in his life, but had a lot of capital, and started a "tree business" with random workers. So this guy broke a huge limb in a perfectly healthy Oak, which left a hanger that still dangles over the newly built house till this day. It still irks me, every time I drive by, to have lost work to a guy who simply couldn't care less...
you are a gifted man now you are unstoppable with that fine buckin special . lol He put so much into it i can see his smile from here and i am in upstate new york !!!! once again you and your crew have done a super good job .
I thoroughly enjoyed that video from the beginning to the end!! Was not expecting to hear the shout out at the end in Billy's clip :-) Great explanation of your plan of attack as always Mr. Hunicke! As always, looking forward to the next one! Have a great week :-)
Hi August, hard heads and a buckin special, the only way to go!!!! Ausome job August!!! Love it man. Can't wait to get mine. Love to you and your family!Your friend Al.

I'm late to the party but its great to see the connections between you and Buckin, Treeson and Gordy, Big Mike ..Easten made, Walkerized. You probably have no idea how important it is and how your knowledge spreads around the world. Well done you all deserve a beer. I'm walking out to make up a square chain on my Simington 451C and getting into a big pine. Many thanks, the knowledge and help is infectious and goes around again.
Once again some good felling there August Never hurts to have a bit of "insurance" when your dropping a tree that size. . And that is a VERY sweet axe! Be safe brother. Randy
I am essentially bedridden so it isn't like I'm watching these for educational purposes. That being said, I appreciate the sped up sawdust throwing. Keeps me from dozing off in the middle. Great job on the tree and the video.
Gotta love that breeze in the tops that holds conifers up when their cut and have been wedged over 15 to 20° always holding never seems to be at your back.. That's why you have a winch extra wedges etc etc, always nice to drop em and leave them. Nice Axe Bucking Billy Ray, love that expansion pipe on the '088 August has it got in the way yet?... would be nice to make a old work saw into a speed machine for close to the truck work👍
Always, love that hinge wood groan, snap crackle & pop, the amazing sound of all that air being displaced, and then that thud that makes the ground jump!!😆👍👊 And then doing a few more & walking away, no cleanup😆😆 My favorite words👍..
what a wonderful video - just great! Love to see that unboxing from Dr. Buckin ... I have got a double bit from our friend and I love it. Stay safe out there - Thomas / Mach Daddy 1, 2, 3 gooooo
This is a special video buddy wow glad you had yur axe one sweet axe rite there got to get me one too, always enjoy yur videos take care and stay safe out there
This is what my foster dad called an Alley Oop axe. It was the only style axe we had for wedge poundin on the upper Calapooyia out of Holley, Oregon. We felled big second growth and old growth in th e70s. It was a great way to grow up. Hard work, great rewards. Enjoy!
"More candy from Germany." LOL!! Just last Saturday my new 36" Stihl bar cover arrived, looking just like a 36" bar cover! Love the cameos of Buckin', you guys have some stylistic tendencies in common! An "unboxing" video with half a dozen tree drops, Buckin was telling us about his ancestor Quesnel and the lake named after him on a video about splitting firewood! Stay safe y'all!
love it (if someone bet me alota money) usually involves a drink or 2 also . great job you have been watching BBRS vids , like how you toss the Buckin special as if you have had it for years. be safe all ! TheTreeGuy
bill ambrose thanks, ya I Wanted to just cut to the stick for the sake of saving the viewer's time, but let the camera run (cut-free) to show the authenticity of first throw. I knew it would stick 👊😎
just watched law's call. im in how mutch vid do you need make the call we are made for this. billy's being billy. good promo see you from tree brother in Mi. ps found a plumb a3.5lb
This is a fun cool video ! I do have a question though, how many people including myself, want them selves a bucking Billy Ray Axe . with his signature branding .. I have monkey beaver climbing harness, n just got two made for this T-shirts . As the fan that I am would be COOL to add a bucking Billy Ray Axe to my toolbox ..
* Question please August: Is that a butterfly knot (or bowline on a bight) Damien used to attach the carabiner to in the rigging connecting the two spars up in the first tree? * Lamppost in woods looks like reference to C.S. Lewis's lamppost in Narnia book. * You appear to have self-corrected a false start in the top notch cut of the first tree... more insight into thought process going into felling cuts.... very helpful info for novice. * All felling cuts and your (e.g. careful) behavior while making them --- learn a lot from watching! * Please to give more stump analysis for novices... and/or anyone with less knowledge and experience than you :) * August, thanks for all the detailed, technical explanations and your thought processes which include safety comments!!

Great video August that was a big tree. How are you finding the pants instead of chaps?
Buckin has that same right leg lift that you get swinging a sledge hammer driving circus tent stakes.

* Please to give more stump analysis for novices... and/or anyone with less knowledge and experience than you :)
* August, thanks for all the detailed, technical explanations and your thought processes which include safety comments!!
