It's just my opinion, but every song that I have heard him cover, male or female, he sounds better than the original artist. He just has a voice that is absolutely beautiful!

I believe that Gabriel does not just sing a song and then whistle here and there. When Gabriel sings a song, he draws the listener into the storyline and he captivates them so much so, that they Become completely absorbed into the message he is portraying . The listener begins to get so wrapped up into the story of the song and they can literally feel the intensity of it all. When Gabriel henrique sings a song he makes you believe what he is singing is a message from his heart to us the listeners. This was a very powerful performance he just put on and the whistle notes fit right into place😍

GABRIEL COULD WELL BECOME ONE OF THE BEST COVER ARTISTS IN THE WORLD
First, thank you Charlie for knowing the background of this song and of the original artist. Not sure why Gabe didn't credit her as his cover. Second, I have followed over 200 reactors from first discovering Gabe. What I appreciate from the few of you who dig deeper into his performances is that you're really listening, not simply reacting to him singing. Gabe has come a long way in his English enunciations. He still could use just a bit more work here and there, just a bit, and he could achieve the goal I've set for him to become one of the world's best cover artists.

And the most incredible thing, after watching several reacts of this incredible music, is that the vast majority, mainly from the USA, had never listened to it, did not know of its existence, and as Gabriel has a flair for gospel music, many were induced to think that this song was Gospel. New to you so Hello! Let’s see if I can get this right without knowing what I am talking about? When he uses his whistle it is like a cry and used in the right places, adds emotion to a song. And he always seems to use it in the right places. As much as I am amazed by his whistle, his runs, the ease in which he moves in and out of them, when he belts in his lower register (since I honestly don’t have a clue where his voice would be just singing without all of the bells and whistles, I will just call it his lower register) and holds a note, then releases his vibrato, whew, the control. It is so powerful I have seen him back away from the microphone for just a second and you do not lose the sound that would usually go along with stepping off the microphone. He is special, no doubt about that at all. 💕

Absolutely. My concern wasn't so much that it would be different to Cynthia's version. More that it would be disrespectful to the message. This is a song about fleeing slavery and turning it into a vocal spectacle I felt would have been disrespectful. I don't think he did that too much though
yes, I believe Gabriel understood the depth and seriousness that this song conveys. I understand what you mean. In fact, this song conveys the whole message of endurance, struggle and hope, and obviously the responsibility is greater in singing it.

Breathing is key. Do breathing exercises and this will help your singing a lot. Also don't try and sing things that are too far out of your comfortable range. Not every singer was made to sing every song in every key. Find where your personal sweet spot is and really work on that while doing exercises to stretch your range if you wish to do so.
Other than that, just practice all the time. It's hard for me to give you specific advice on what to do because I've never heard you sing. But follow these tips at least and you'll have a great foundation
