Would like to say that as of a few days ago I’m now 1 year gambling free! It goes to show that if you want to beat this horrible addiction you can and will. Make sure you have good people around you, use the tools available and keep your life busy with new hobbies and friends. I’ve found having these things has helped me to conquer my demons.
Sending my best wishes to you all.

    I can fully relate.
I gambled my business away and lost everything I have ever worked for. I lost over £1 million pounds in total over the last 10 years and its a complete disgrace, with me being a further £100K in debt now and having nothing left to generate any income anymore.
Gambling ripped my life apart. It made me lie to everyone, all the time. It affected my friends, my family, my partner, and took away everything I ever owned. Now nearly aged 40.
This video is an absolute truth bomb. Fuck casinos! Kick them forever!

I think there’s a small part of a gambler’s mindset that gets a buzz from losing as well as the high from winning. It seems like they feel they deserve to feel bad and tortured because of the guilt from gambling all their money away. The feeling of winning only lasts temporarily but they can’t savour the moment. It’s a very dangerous addiction to have and the ending was really sad but so real for too many people 😢

Shit, I just started taking up some bonus offers on websites and went up about $250. I then had to look at myself in the mirror and yell to say stop because the itch is non-stop to keep going. Coming from a family of addiction, this video and countless of others need more broadcast time than any of the ads that play non stop on TV. I am a lucky one to see it. If anyone needs help, look yourself in the mirror each day and smile. It may be hard, but a smile goes a long dang way. Heads high, sun will always shine. Amazing work, truly amazing

Gambled on all and everything for years. Stopped and started over and over again. The worst is when you're single with only yourself to look after. The best advice is get help, face your demons and live a better life. Restrict your urges by handing over control to someone else until you recognise the demon and slay it with honour, truth and courage. It's a long life, full of different lifetimes. Believe me I have lived multiple different versions until this one. All the best to you and your fight. A massive congratulations to everyone involved with this short film, well done.

@@thomasmcglone754 It's a lonely existence, I've found, I remember all of those fake friends at the casino. Who never want to do anything that doesn't involve gambling. I've met women, attractive ones, you take them to dinner. Shortly fterward, "lets stop by the MGM," or whatever the biggest venue happens to be in your town. It's a medication, a way of distracting yourself from reality, the reality you aren't willing to face. I've known well off women, nice houses in gated communities, gamblers of course, always single in their 40s and 50s. The fridge has only the minimum, the basics. Isn't that a truism. Big house not too much furniture. Last house of course was the one repossessed, or the one the game was up at. Lost to the lawyers, who like the Don Henley song, sorted out all the details. Where's your furniture? You guessed the response, "oh it's in storage at the moment. I haven't had time to retrieve it." Meaning she's behind on the payments. The doorbell that doesn't work mysteriously. "Oh Helena had the Sheriff after her for her Mercedes, she was a few months behind with the leasing company, she disconnected it." She's gone now, of course. "She lost 200K, and the loan sharks were after her." She'd gambled her company payroll over a few days, lost it all and the police had taken an interest. This is advanced gambling, high limit play, attractive women with complicated debts. Access to cash via family assets, property, investments, payroll. You see them in high limit rooms with diamond rings and bracelets. It doesn't matter though, the casino will eventually take it. I've had women offer me rings in the past for cash. As Robert de Niro says in the film, Casino, "in the end - we get it all." I could write a book, at this point. I remember one woman who had worked within the music industry on the Pacific Coast ten years ago. Guitars on display stand, she couldn't play a note. I picked one up and she told me it was a replica left with her at a hotel. I played it, it was no replica, it had been professionally set-up, slight damage to the base near the strap knob. "Oh that's Keith's." I assumed a former tenant or friend. "Keith who?" "You know - Keith Richards." I did a double-take. "Steel Wheels tour, a lifetime ago. Left it in my hotel room, I was running the merchandising for the tour." "Do you have anymore?" "Maybe in storage, I have a lot of stuff. Not any use after the tour ended." This is the level. Imagine it. Unbelievable. Was she telling the truth? You never know with this demographic.

I quit for 2 year’s and decided to place a bet on the super bowl. I won- worst thing that could have happened to me. Since February I have wagered around 300k of profit and savings. I cleared my debt 3 weeks ago. I won 65k at sports and I was on cloud nine. I thought I wouldn’t gamble again. I went on a bender drunk, I lost 82k in 19 days. I lost my gf. My job is at risk, my family is torn apart. Worst than the money, I lost myself. I haven’t eaten a proper
Meal In 3 weeks. I don’t care about my relationship ajd that’s why my
      Gf left. I was a fitness freak and I don’t workout anymore. I don’t sleep. I don’t care, I don’t care if I died
Tomorrow. Best of luck, this is a monster. No one understands.

Gambling addiction is brutal. Emotionally and financially by far the worst addiction. There are no limits. I ended up choosing heroin addiction as a means to try stop the gambling and manage the emotional pain of the fall out. There was a physical price to pay if I gambled. It is such a deep rooted addiction, your money represents a lot of your opportunities in this World, it hurts to know you’ve thrown it away. The longer you go the harder it gets. It also hurts everyone that cares for you.

Waw, this video actually hit hard. I've been gambling for 3 years but never felt like I was addicted since there were periods where I didn't gamble. But now I'm starting to realize that I keep coming back eventually. Overall I've won more than I've lost but it's really not worth the time/stress and I'm sure I'm one of the few who actually has a positive balance from it. I know that in the end I'll lose more than win because the house always wins. I just closed all my betting accounts. Just don't gamble guys, not worth it.

Theres no way you've won more than you've lost if you've been doing it for 3 years. Not a chance, unless you got extremely lucky and hit one mega bet, then never did another. Of course you'll say you're telling the truth, but only you know if its the case. Most gamblers don't win. Only the pros win 5% more than they lose.

It will create a vicious cycle where you are constantly chasing loses and then it gets to a stage where you have lost so much that it really doesn’t matter anymore and that is where it will take you my advice is if you have a bad session and lose badly just walk away don’t go back
And accept that the moneys gone its only going to get worse the further you go ahead.

On line gambling is worse than going to a casino

The unlocking from Great Britain Parliament of gambling on every media will take its toll. It's tragic & they seem to think they are the 4th Emergency Service! Ye Gods - take a break, set limits. What! Gambling doesn't work like that. You lose, you gamble more to get it back. You win (rarely) let's bet more I'm on a run. The monster is out - but you can put it back in by legislation.

The other thing is, after a decade of doing it, your family eventually finds out, your friends find out. I won a significant amount one year, and bought a new car. Eyebrows were raised immediately. You are a subject of interest as gambling is an interesting topic to talk about, especially by those who don't do it. Most players talk about their wins to one another, their losses elsewhere such as sites like these. Winning, however, is quite a strange experience also. At the cage the girl will ask if you want cash, no matter how big the win, she is trained to give you as much cash as possible and reduce the printed cheque size. Like a car dealer, she will negotiate with you. Imagine 80,000 in 100 notes, no matter if its pounds or dollars, that's not going to fit in your inside coat pocket. You need the pay-out page you signed, but these days they won't copy it for you. The bank will be your next problem if you make it to your car and home without being followed. You need paperwork for a significant (out of the ordinary) cash deposit. You don't want it under your bed or in a shoebox. Once you deposit the amount (60-200,000) then the calls from the bank and the messages. Suddenly you have friends there who want to chat with you about investing it. At car dealerships, the price on the vehicle hardens the second you mention cash-purchase. You never say that during the process. Car dealers want to give you a loan, it's more profitable for them. You thought that arriving at a dealership with cash available - that the sticker price on the BMW or whatever - is the price you pay. Not so, my innocent friend. It's much higher. Taxes, dealer fees, you name it. Anyway - gambling is an experience you won't soon forget. It's like the lyrics to Hotel California, suddenly they make sense. That long drive to the brightly lit casino in the desert, cool wind in your hair, the doorman, the attractive women with their Mercedes - valet parked of course - surrounded by the manicured lawns and shrubs. It's a lifetime of experience - you can check out anytime you like - but you can never really leave. Even if you've kept your secret with James Bond precision, it only takes an observant girlfriend or wife to find that players card from a major casino in the glove box, or for it to slide out from under a seat at a stop light. "What's this?" Similar to her finding a long blonde hair, when she's a brunette. That innocent question, "what's this honey?" Or the lipstick that rolls out from under the passenger seat, that's not hers. Better have your answer ready. Why would your friend have left his players card in the glove box? The questions, the endless ferreting out of information. Even if you win money, you have to keep it low-key. You have to have a false-narrative. But the truth my friend, the truth has this way of slipping out from behind the most cleverly constructed facades. The long shadow of the casino - it can extend as far as the grave.

Just like an alcoholic where 1 drink is too many and 10 drinks isn't enough. 1 bet is too many and 10 isn't enough.

you think you are in control at the beginning, when you are winning, everything is great... but when the bad streak comes, it completely ruins you... forget about compulsive gambling high stakes, it's the worst

As a current addict, this is sad. I am losing my house and don't have a single penny to my name. I'm scared to dearth of being homeless but I have nobody to blame but myself. I wishi never started gambling. It's ruined my life and my future. In all honesty, once the bank sends a foreclosure and takes my house , that I'm just gonna end it all. It seems it's the only way out.
