Finally I find on UA-cam someone with a fashion style I adore and matches my own style. Please please please post more Videos. I absolutely adore your style. 🙏 😊 I am a new subscriber already ❤️
Hello “myopinion”. Thank you so much for your sweet comment. It means a lot to me. I’m working on few videos right now so keep your eyes peeled. Maybe some suggestions from you?🥰
@@SlowDownInStyle it was a pleasure commenting on your video. I rarely send comments, but I had to do it for you 😃 as for a suggestion, I have seen quite a few videos about how to style the different types of jeans/trousers with shoes/boots/trainers. However, I could not find one that is really explanatory enough and that really teaches how to combine the different types of jeans/trousers leg cuts with the different shoes/boots/sandals/heels... especially for petite women. I am still struggling to style my shoes with jeans. For that reason I am still stuck on the skinny jeans 😢 but would love to really learn how to style differently. If you can, please make a really explanatory video teaching about this topic. I would be forever grateful ❤️
So glad I found your channel aged 60 I adore your fashion style and you encourage us to shop our wardrobe
Hello my lovely. Thank you so so much for your sweet comment. I’m so happy you enjoy my content and YES, let’s be more creative with our wardrobes 🥰🫶
Great combinations of clothes, simple, but they work so well.
Thank you so much Ewa. Simplicity IS the key but it took me years to understand it😜
I love linen, it keeps me cool and dry. Cotton is much warmer, and only cooling once it gets damp, but I don’t like to feel sweaty. I wear a lot of cotton in the mild winters where I live. I always iron my linen items well, then forget about the creases when I wear them. Ironing gives a smoother, softer finish, and smooths out the seams and other details, as well as wrinkles. To reduce ironing, use a gentle spin cycle, remove items immediately and shake wrinkles out and hand-press as needed, then hang to dry; they will be drippy, but linen dries fast, especially with a fan on. Blends of linen with viscose, rayon or lyocell wrinkle less while wearing, but need ironing. I always tell people, though, who refuse to iron, then don’t buy linen and most cotton shirting fabrics, they will never look good and ruin your style. You can’t have it both ways, great fabrics need attention, stick to synthetics if you’re not willing to put some effort into garment care.
You’re so right about how to care for linen and cotton. Such a great piece of advice. The first iron after the wash is an absolute must. Shirts look so much better with ironed collar and cuffs. A good chic look needs some attention and little of extra time
Another amazing video. Got a LOT of inspiration! Absolutely looking forward to the video about how to style blazers.
Thank You so so much for your kind words🥰 I think styling blazers will be perfect in Autumn👍
Dresses. I have a long, white shirt dress. I like it because I can wear it on its own. I can wear it over trousers, jeans or leggings. I can wear it as a cardigan. I put a sweater over it. It is very versatile.
Thank you for sharing with us, Latisha. I agree, shirt dresses are very versatile. I also love them over denim shorts😊
Just found my first long white dress and a black dress this year love
So lucky, please share the details😁
Yes please, a video on styling blazers

Hello from Istanbul, you got the black fitted dress from Turkey!
hello Ilknur, I’m so happy you liked the video. I hope you're gonna stay for longer😊 So nice to have someone from Istanbul🇹🇷 the dress was actually from a British brand The White Company, but I always look for some nice clothes when visiting Turkey🫶
Mariola, it’s always a pleasure to watch your videos, they are so inspiring! I have a question about how you care for your wool trousers. I have always wanted to invest in a nice quality pair of wool trousers but the labels always indicates dry cleaning which I would like to avoid, because of the chemicals and also it’s just a hassle 😅
Hello Dear!! thank you so much for your lovely comment. I’m really happy you enjoy my content🥰 As for wool trousers. Most of the time they are gonna be dry clean only and for that reason I only buy them in darker colours, like black, grey or “safe” beige and avoid whites and creams, because I would have to take them to dry cleaners a few times a season. There are some brands (in my experience either men’s or more pricey) that can be machine washed or you can also try some wool/poly mix as some of them are machine washed😊
@@SlowDownInStyle Thank you for your advice! And good idea, I never thought of peeking into the men's department :)
Would you put your height in the information box, please? It really helps me determine how items will look on my petite frame, thanks!
yes, of course. I need to remember to put that in the description box next time. I’m 170cm tall
Excellent video. Love your style!
Thank you so much. I’m so happy you like it. Something new coming veeery soon😊
I find silk easy to maintain, I just take care not to get any stains. I wash my silks in the “handwash” cycle in my machine, in cool or lukewarm water, depending on the colors, and hang to dry. Most simple silk items can be washed, except those with structural elements, like interfacings, in jackets, etc., they must be dry-cleaned. Silk does not need frequent washing or any ironing, except after an initial ironing to remove the packing wrinkles, steamers don’t always get them out.
thank you so much for sharing. It will come in handy when I decide to get some silk pieces xxx
Thanks for sharing. It would be nice if you share links to the brands where you purchased the items.
Hello Lisa, Thank you so much for watching and your comment. Yessss I’m adding the links today. Don’t be disappointed though, as lots of things in there is not new😉 but I will find some alternatives.
I love your style, don’t stop wearing your midi skirts and dresses!
Thank you so much, I really appreciate your kind words☺️
I love very much yours videos!
I Don't speak English well, but I want to send you my thanks!!
Hello and thank you so so much for your lovely message🥰 It’s so great to see that you enjoy my videos despite the language barrier🫶
Excellent video - thanks. Great info about linen.
A great video. Thanks! I subscribed.
Hello and thank you so so much🥰🙏
Loved your video! Wondering what height and waist measurements you are? I think we are about the same size and want to better understand why things look “sharper” on you. Love your style.
hello Nancy, Thank you so much for your comment, that’s so sweet. My waist, funny thing, I had to measure for you because I didnt even know😜I’m 73 cm but fyi I’m smaller on the top of my body than the bottom (legs and the back side).
@@SlowDownInStyle yes just like me. 😀
Height? I’m 156cm.
Uuuu petite. I can imagine shopping for your clothes is not too easy. But I always say there are no limitations only because you’re shorter, taller, bigger etc. You should wear what makes you feel your best xxx
I have just found your Chanel and love all your outfits combinations, they match my style, just minimal and elegant, my question is the blazer from Arket in which size is your? You look just amazing with it not so oversize, because I am petite and Arket blazer is just too long and big for me.
Hello and welcome to my channel. Sorry for my late reply. The blazer is a size 34 and my usual size is 36. This is my most fitted blazer but I’m happy I got this one in black because I can wear it both casual and dressed up. I’m not sure the Arket will be the best fit on your petite frame. But maybe worth trying a size down😊
@@SlowDownInStyle Thank you so much 😍
Love your style 😍😍. Can you make style in august for summer holiday in europe to next video... 💓
Thank you so much😊 this is a very good idea!! I would like to make the video this month, but cant promise. xxx
Your summer must be rather cool.
Our summers are never too hot, but in this video I’m talking about my spring capsule, so of course there would be some layers😊
Really inspiring thanks 🙏
Great! I’m so glad you you found it useful. Thank you😊
I life in the north of Spain
🥰
The more videos of yours I watch the more I realize that maybe I am buying my shirts too small. You seem to buy everything oversized or menswear and it looks great on you. What are your thoughts on petite ladies with a normal build (not slim) wearing oversized shirts, blazers, and pants?
Sorry Dear for the late reply. I can see many petite women (slim or normal build) wearing oversized shirts, wide leg trousers, long skirts etc. and looking absolutely GREAT. I personally dont understand why you need to wear something only, because you are petite (just like very tall women couldnt wear heels). I never aimed to look shorter or taller. I think its all about proportions and if you feel something swamps you, just show your wrists, décolletage, accentuate your waist. Maybe dont pair 2 oversized items (top and bottoms) together. Start with a wide leg trousers and more fitted top (not tight), an oversized mens shirt and straight leg trousers or a midi pleated skirt. Blazers are always my go to, because I think they can do whatever you want them to: if you choose an oversized blazer, try pairing it with bermuda shorts or straight leg trousers and a tank top to balance your silhouette. wide leg trousers would work here too (in my opinion), but again dont forget the tank top or a body and roll up your blazers sleeves. Also dont forget your footwear, something dainty will be best. Sorry about the long message, but I can talk about it for hours😁 maybe a video on the subject would be useful?
Hello…… I know this is an old video , I have only recently found you🌷 I am now looking at my husbands wardrobe …. He has high quality beautiful shirts that I can’t wait to try. I have a question though….. how do you deal with the stiff collars and front pocket.
Hello Wendy, old video but I still love mens shirts😊 most of the time I roll up the sleeves (sometimes they are crazy long) and leave some buttons open. Mens shirts usually have one pocket in the front which I love and structured collar which I also like. I prefer the standard collar and avoid the spread style but I recently thrifted a shirt with such collar and I love it. I don’t know if it helps at all. I think you just get used to it while trying on and experimenting and by the time it feels very natural😊
@@SlowDownInStyle thank you so much for such a quick reply,….. I love your style so much and already have most of the items….. I also have a lot of patterned and more colourful clothes that I thought I should own. Don’t like them and don’t wear them. You have made me feel so much more confident in the fact that it’s ok to wear what I like ….. which also seems to be what I like. Thank so much for all the inspiration I hope that you make many more videos.
Absolutely love the videos you have presented . Love the simplicity of style and styling of items many of which I own . You have demonstrate some new ideas to follow ,so thank you .However I cannot find you on You tube in order to see other videos that you may have posted despite typing in Slow Down . Are you using an alternative title or name ?
Hello Steve, first of all, thank you so so much for your kind words and I’m very happy you found some inspiration🥰 and second, I don’t have loads of videos, because I really just started, but if you want to search my channel tap on the name slow down below the video that you’re watching and it will show you everything there is (the same as you would tap on “Steve Cross” if that makes sense😜). Have a lovely day😊
Thanks so much for the reply. It worked . Just thought there may have been a back catalogue . Am subscribed and look forward to many more videos . Enjoy the sunshine .
Which brand is the knitted black dress ? Beautiful shape, I like it so much 😍
So sorry Dear, the black dress is an old one from a White Company (around 3 years ago). It’s a really hard piece to find on the high street🤨 in good quality.
@@SlowDownInStyle thank you so much 😍
I thought I was the only one who buys from the mens department.
Haha! Well, then we must be the only two awkward women roaming around mens clothes🤣 My favourite are the thrift/charity shops👍👍
Hi, I very like your style, where is your big beige bag from? ☺️
Thank you Anna for your lovely comment😊 the bag is from a Polish brand Lasocki and I’m afraid only available for delivery in Poland. But I put the link in the description box just in case🫶
@@SlowDownInStyle i know this brand, I live in Estonia, though can order from Poland too. Thank you so much 🫶
Woooow that’s great! Happy for you😊 and you have a 40% discount now with a code WOW😁
@@SlowDownInStyle excuse me, I cannot find the link in the description box, if it is possible, please, repeat it in a comment 🙏😚
I’m sorry for a late reply but here it is ccc.eu/pl/torby/torby-damskie/torebka-lasocki-mls-k-013-80-01-bialy?
Thankyou for sharing - a style that matches my own with lots of ideas 🙂 Can you tell me where your gorgeous earrings are from please? TIA
Hello Tricia, I’m so glad you enjoy my video. Thank you very much for your kind words. The earrings I’m wearing (the big ones) are actually old from H&M (maybe 4 years now). When it comes to such big interesting earrings I tend to go for High Street because we don’t wear them as much and they really last. TK Maxx (or TJ Maxx in America) has some cool pieces too. I hope that helps
@@SlowDownInStyle Thankyou 🙂
Your style reminds me of Emma Hill
aaaaaaw that’s a compliment for sure. Thank you Dear🫶
