Great reaction. Joel! But you nailed it. I am not a fan of growling either but with Mayu it is very very different then she comes in & kills it with her clean voice which is like no other as well. Surprised you didn’t mention the new bass part. I to hope Nemophila stays together & crushes everyone🤘🏼🍺

Yea when I watched this I realized that "Evolution" version means... 4 members remaining and doing everything themselves... So the big thing? No Saki, only one guitarist, both she and the bassist are handling WAY WAY more of the song than before... BASS SOLO! Totally new rendition

They've discussed their plans at length: they're continuing as a quartet. They have a brief domestic tour beginning more-or-less now (I have a ticket to a show in a couple weeks up here in Sapporo), which tells me they've already got new arrangements ready for enough material to cover off a decent-length set (the shows are what are called "two man" shows here in Japan with one opening band). There's also a more-extensive domestic tour planned in the Fall (yes, I have a ticket to one of those, too!). I had some misgivings about the quartet plan, particularly given the challenges involved making new arrangements for their extensive back catalog. But what I've heard so far makes me think they're going to make it work. If more of the guitar solo trade-offs involve Haraguchi-San bass solos, then as much as I love Saki's playing, I'll be just fine with it! Both she and Tamu seem to be subtly enhancing their parts to help Hazuki fill the gaps. Interestingly, another band that's moving forward in quartet form that previously had another guitar is Hagane. They just dropped a 5-song EP a couple-three days ago, and it's straight fire. Doesn't hurt that their new drummer is Junna, of course! And Sakura Yoshida is a generational-level shredder, so having a single guitar is not problem in the studio. How they handle the multi-tracked guitar parts live remains to be seen. Nemo were using backing tracks in this one, but not for guitar: the extra tracks were synth parts, which they've always done (since it's usually Tamu who plays them in the studio)..
You think Nemophila's going to uncage Tamu. Allowing her to put on a drum program and play keyboards, xylophone &/or saxophone?? Kidding. I just hope they don't drop Zen from their setlist. Song already puts Haraguchi-san & Tamu to the max. But Zen is clearly a two guitar driven song it's kaos. I'm more worried about Hazuki will leave Nemophila for her side project KOIAI. Seems prodigy Li-za-X is getting the playing live bug. She will or did two opening shows. KOIAI did get a drummer for a member. Hazuki & Li-sa-X does mesh very well. Their music would have a wider appeal than Nemophila's. Hope this quartet works out. Love to see this band flourish with Saki. I'm disappointed with Saki. Not that she left Nemophila. It's a supergroup with super egos. Basically she left Mary's Blood to be in Nemophila full time. But what happen to her. I know she's a temporary member of a covers band. Plus she's putting out these cover shorts of her at random places playing her guitar. I don't get it. Is Mary's Blood having plans of a reunion?? How Eye's solo career going?? Heard drummer doing UA-cams & teaching. Bassist nothing. About that time for a reunion.
@@kevinthetruckdriver353 Yeah, KOIAI has a mix of very proggy, shreddy stuff and some songs that are typical poppy J-rock. The latter have more mass appeal...but aren't my thing, really. Bringing Kanade on as a full member (apparently) adds a literally world-class drummer to the mix, and what I've heard so far from that live performance is outstanding. Those "guitar noodling over J-pop and mainstream J-rock" shorts Saki is doing so many of are real head-scratchers for me, too. But "Germinans" is a gem, so I'm still hoping her solo project takes off. I coudl see a Mary's Blood reunion happening...but I haven't heard any stirrings to that regard. I'm still gutted over Saki leaving Nemo...for all that I understand: sometimes you just find it's time to move on from a project. Been there, done that. Best new release lately in this niche for me is that new Hagane EP...but I also heard a teaser from PaleNe0 that was absolutely superb (particularly the fantastic mix).
Némophila is one of your favorite groups on the "Japanese scene" ???? For me it's one of my favorite groups on the "WORLD scene" and it's well deserved. Talking about the Japanese scene is very simplistic for these young women!
Nitpicking. They are a Japanese band and still have their main audience in Japan. Most people where I live have not heard of them. True, they are aiming at international fame, with some success. But still, they are most known for the Japanese scene.
@@rolandkarlsson7072 Success is certain for Némophila, Band Maid, East of Eden, Hanabie and other Japanese female groups who have all toured at the Sates and in Europe like the 3 Mexican sisters of The Warning and soon the best group in history metal (and yet at 72 I have seen practically all the biggest groups on stage and with all due respect, none of this breathtaking talent) namely Lovebites who I am going to see on June 28 in Clisson (400km from Paris where I live). Lovebites which has already toured Europe (France, England, Germany, etc.) in 2018. All this to say that Japanese female groups, and not just Némophila, have a global resonance and not just Japanese. And I am not picky but lucid.

It is excellent to have Haraguchisan highlighted more but I am hoping that they invite another great guitarist to join them.
