Why Dilip Kumar REFUSED Naya Daur?

Dilip Kumar refused BR Chopra for Naya Daur movie because Dilip Kumar was already in touch with another director for doing a movie on a similar theme. Dilip Kumar mostly did one movie at a time and tried to avoid doing consecutive movies on similar themes. Dilip Kumar also had reservations with the ending of Naya Daur and that also one of the reasons why he didn't wish to do the movie. BR Chopra's Naya Daur movie was all about the change that India was experiencing in the 1950s and Dilip Kumar ultimately did a phenomenal job in the movie that also earned Dilip Kumar, his fourth Filmfare award.

Nice representation by you Rahoul , i have seen the another video where Dillip Kumar has given his loyalty towards Mr BR chopra and has gone against Madhubala and his father , for this reason their relationship has been broken up , that was so heart broken matter , because i am a dye hard fan of Madhubala so couldn’t forgive Dillip Kumar for his decision

A very lovely incident shared tonight on the podcast 👌
It was really interesting to learn that Dilip Kumar refused B R Chopra for Naya Daur as he was committed to Gyan Mukherjee who at that time wss making a somewhat similar movie on the subject of Industialization.
B R Chopra must have felt very very disappointed when after Dilip Kumar. Mehboob Khan too asked Chopra sahab to shelve the movie as he felt that the movie sounded like a documentary film without any entertsinment.
But, destiny had other plans & it brought Chopra Sahab & Dilip Sahab together after Gyan Mukherjee's movie was discintinued for reasonss unknown.
It was a very big thing said by Mehbbob Khan aat the suxcess party of Naya Daur who publicly admitted how he had discouraged B R Chopra from making Naya Daur in the first place.
