    Great video. I 100% agree we should not feel bad for this guy or fall for him playing the victim card. He seems like a jerk and very rude to customers. I love how these resellers call themselves “business owners” but this is how they handle customer service.

    No lie, on Mercari I ran into a potential reseller selling a stack of random SNES manuals for like $14 or something. Thought Id shoot an offer of like 2 bucks off to keep it under $20 with shipping and everything to add to the collection. Guy denies it and starts whining that he'll lose too much money on the sale and was more than okay to just delete the listing since no one else would buy from him after being smug and rude to me. I'm so thankful I called him out and mentioned the negative reviews he gotten from past sales as being a pretentious douche and got him to go off on me and block me on there. Screw people like him that make collecting games and buying stuff online in general a total buzzkill, especially when he could have been nicer about it and not be pretentious and greedy over a couple bucks off. BTW still up on his page after scrolling through earlier this week, what a chode. Keep doing the great work, man!

    WOW. The no cancel order around 2 minutes is appalling. For goodness sake, I never want to make someone buy something they don't want, or regret. People tell me "I had a few drinks last night and got on when I shouldn't have," or "I accidently bought it," or "I have a PROBLEM and changed my mind," I cancel it no hard feelings. As long as they reach out, then of course I would do that for them-it's just a human thing to do. It's really no harm to hit the relist button. But these people are of a different, scummy mindset. Good riddance on that one.

    Judging from this guys feedback and responses I’m genuinely surprised his account hasn’t been terminated yet, you can’t respond like that as an eBay seller, calling buyers names etc, he definitely doesn’t have the right attitude or personality to be in the sales business, one thing I’ve learnt from eBay is the buyer is always right, wether he likes it or not that’s just how it works, he’s gonna loose that account soon if he’s operating like that

    Like the new intro man. The many faces of Steve 😅. This guy must just bring everything home, list it, and throw it on the shelf until it sells. Sounds like a lot of his problems could be solved by inspecting his goods before listing, being honest in his item descriptions, taking good original photos, and using some bubble wrap.

    • @steviefreakinc
      @steviefreakinc  Рік тому +1

      Yeah he certainly doesn’t inspect items very well if at all. Just sees the money and not the person spending the money that wants the item.

      Not all the time, which is why insurance exists. I sent a DVD once and it was received smashed, wet, and with a friggin' footprint on it! It's not my fault as a seller that the mailman was stomping on it in the snow. 😅

    Seems like he does a lot of sales but damn that's a ton of negative feedback by Ebay's standards. Usually anything below 99.6% is reason for concern. If you sell enough items odds are eventually that even if you do everything right you'll run into one person with a bad attitude which can lower you below 100 but with all the feedback seen here he's definitely a bad seller. I wouldn't be surprised if all of the packaging issues are because he doesn't actually buy packing material. Like rolls of bubble wrap. Probably just uses whatever he has around. Whether that's newspaper, recycled packing peanuts, or probably in many cases nothing at all. Definitely avoid that guy.

    • @DP12321

  • @ophidianmind333
    @ophidianmind333 Рік тому +3

    It seems like Philly Phlipper has some room for improvement on the item descriptions in his listings and his customer service skills. If you want buyers on a site like eBay to be happy with what you are selling them, then you need to be very upfront about any flaws the item has and to show pictures of those flaws so people can know whether that is actually something they would be willing to buy. Maybe this might surprise sleazy resellers, but making an honest listing like that won't prevent you from selling an item and people might buy an item with a listing like that over ones that are more vague for the same item because they will know that you are being honest with them so they will find you to be more trustworthy. When people know exactly what to expect, then they will be happier with what they get when the condition of the item matches the condition they were expecting.
    When I had sold items from my collection on eBay in the past, there was only one time that something I sold someone didn't work. It was a DVD that I had resurfaced and while it worked when I tested it in my computer DVD drive, it didn't work in the buyer's DVD drive. I believe what the buyer told me and it is possible that my drive was considerably more powerful than hers and that it still played for me even though the disc may have had a surface flaw that prevented it from playing for her. How I responded was telling her that because the item I sold her didn't perform as I claimed it would in my listing, then I couldn't in good conscience make her pay for it so I gave her a full refund without her having to mail the DVD back to me. After all, I didn't want to cause an extra burden for her due to my screw up. I seriously doubt this was some kind of scam attempt because this was for a DVD I sold for $8 with free shipping and this buyer had 100% positive feedback. In response to this, she gave me very glowing feedback praising my good customer service. Actually making things right with a customer instead of giving an angry all-caps response is how you retain customers and build up a good reputation.
    Also, the chronic problem he seems to have with damaged packaging probably means that he isn't packaging the items he is selling very well. He seems like the kind of person who would just put a game in a bubble mailer and when the game arrives with a broken case, he'd just blame the postal service. If he'd just wrapped some scrap cardboard from a box that he could get for free around that game case before putting it in the bubble mailer, he'd greatly increase the chances of the game arriving with an unbroken case. It actually isn't difficult or expensive to securely package items that you are shipping because so many material you can use for that can be obtained for free. If that many of his packages are arriving damaged, then he is either just being really lazy with his packaging or he never learned how to securely package something, either of which is really negligent if he is going to be shipping packages as part of the way that he makes his living.

  • @joshuawick5382
    @joshuawick5382 Рік тому +1

    I’ve heard of eBay sellers that don’t package items well. When you try and start a return and refund, they start guilt tripping you to suck it up and accept the item. Then they start blaming the shipping company and say “it’s not my fault that your item was mishandled.” It really pisses me off when sellers say that when you start a return. They need to stop playing the blame and guilt game and help you out.
    Most of the time, when you ship something and it gets damaged, it’s because you didn’t package it right. Not because the company destroyed the package but it does happen in rare circumstances.
    These eBay sellers that only care about 50+% profit and what it goes for need to own the fact that they need to offer refunds and returns and respect that there is another person on the other side of the purchase.

    lol @ 6:40 I knew there was something about the best offer thing. I figured they give even less of a crap when asked for a better deal, package it worse, don't clean it etc. Just for asking for a better deal "which they could have countered"....ironic. I was gonna make the comment 2 minutes in, but decided, ya know, maybe not, but now, yeaaaaa- that's how this seller works.
