[ADOFAI] Rhythm Heaven - Final Remix - Level by Me

Good lord I did not have a fun time beating this, so just be glad I can't upload it to the workshop. Also, I apologize if it feels like the audio is slightly off-sync. I'm not very good with figuring out the offset from the start, but it felt synced enough while I played it. I never know what to do with the background so I just picked a color that I thought fit.

I think in general this map could use a lot of work. For one, it's significantly harder than any song currently in the base game, which means the vast majority of people will never beat it or come close to beating it, even if it had checkpoints, which it seems you didn't deign to use. This wouldn't be a problem if it seemed like the difficulty was befitting of the graphics/music/context. I wouldn't describe rhythm heaven's final remix to be even close to the echelon of your level's difficulty. 2:54 and 0:34 are good examples of overcharting.
A lot of the sections are mapped very... simply, to use a positive sounding word. Simple to the point of being uninteresting to look at. 1:22 is a prime example of this. You've basically thrown adofai's main strength of turning rhythm into geometry into the trash. It's just a straight line with speed changers to facilitate the tempo changes. It's not sightreadable. And without checkpoints, unsightreadable sections are a sin. And to tie into the previous point about difficulty, complexity can be a way to make your map more difficult without resorting to pure difficulty of input. In fact, your map would probably benefit from being more difficult complexity wise, despite being so hard already. It just doesn't make a ton of sense having a map that is this hard but looks so simple. Maybe if the song fit that context better, it'd make sense, but rhythm heaven certainly doesn't put across that vibe.
Graphics would improve the map a ton, but it's understandable that you didn't feel like investing that effort for the map considering you can't even upload it. Still, for future reference, it doesn't need to be a lot. Even rudimentary graphics can make a difference. Background color changes, tile color marking, filters or indicators, all require little effort and don't involve drawing anything. A little variety can make something like this much more fun to play. Be careful of going overboard, though. Changing the color of every single tile would probably be obnoxious both to make, and to play.

Yeah all these old charts are pretty much garbo. I had barely any time in the game when I made them.
The overcharting was literally me just messing around because I knew I couldn’t upload it.
As for decoration, it’s insane how easy it is to get bored while decorating a chart. If I had gone any further with decorations I probably wouldn’t have finished the chart at all.
I may one day remake these if I ever come back to adofai, but at the moment the game has ceased being fun for me to play.
But thanks for putting the time in to make some thoughtful criticism. Most comments i get are from people who’ve never played the game.
