Restoring a Willys Jeep in 10 Minutes

- 3 years of hard work condensed into 10 minutes. This Jeep started life as a 1947 CJ2A. Around the Vietnam era, the owner installed an M151A2 waterproof drivetrain. I fell in love with the idea of a waterproof Jeep, and completed a full restomod. After tearing into the project I realized I needed to re-do all the modifications. Don't let the video fool you, it was a very difficult project with hundreds of hours in custom fabrication.
Calm down keyboard warriors. This is a 1947 CJ2A (civilian Jeep) produced 2 years after WWII, thus cannot possibly be war surplus.
MuddOxRacing what’s the difference? I own a 2014 Jeep but dig this little cjs...greetings from California
Hey there, i live in Bloomington too and just bought a 48. Engine is stuck, got any tricks besides Kerosene?
@@jasonsims8794 I only lived there during school. Check out my video with the yellow Jeep on the trailer for info on rescuing.
@@TurnNBurn oh gotcha, well it's nice to chat with you fellow Jeep lover. LOL
We just restored a 1942 Jeep that spent a few years vacationing in Europe
We take it off road put it through its paces
Thats what jeeps do
Does a great paint job...immediately goes mudding. I love it

That’s what your supposed to do in a Jeep.
@@jamesmylife6578 thank you
@@Harrowder22 I was talking to S Johnson.
@@jamesmylife6578 ok disculpas
Nice job. I'm glad to see some young guys working on vehicles. 40 years ago we all did this stuff but now they're few and far between.
Very good job on putting it back together in 10 minutes. To rebuild it tear it down fix it up back together and running would have taken me good two years. You did it in 10 minutes!! And as fast as you went you're faster than the roadrunner! But in all seriousness. He did a hell of a job! Looks very nice when you got it all done. Thanks for taking the time showing us what all you did!
The fact that it is more than 70 years and still runs is amazing
YES, but today ownwer´s of carcompanies, mostly are thinking of how to make shit people´s pay for, so that we can overloaod our pocket´s 🤣
I love the onest quality of older cars, today (for me), TOOOOOO much sick computers and Wiering(spagetti), that FUCK´s everything up !🤣

Good to see the restore is put to good use afterwards, and not left to sit all nice and pretty in a dry shed somewhere. Jeeps must have mud on them!
ua-cam.com/video/Wtnp7qE-hcQ/v-deo.html 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍1996 Mahindra Jeep Modification..😍😍😍😍😍😍 Kerala. Super work.. 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Chrysler was so dumb for making these trucks without roll bars, like if the car rolls over your dead! Can't believe they didn't know better
Impressive. Not many kids your age are this capable. Keep up the good work and most of all keep having fun doing it. You remind me of myself and my buddies when we were your age👍
Youre a master of resurrection
must be nice to have every tool you need. good job man looks great!!!!
What a ride! Great job! I swear it was paddle-wheeling in that deepest pond. Sweet!
This kid amazes me, great knowledge and skills.
Wow what a transformation! Love the Willys 🙂
Tell me you weren't smiling the whole time he's doing laps in the mud !!!! Awesome video!
I don’t see how these videos don’t have a million views what a cool little Jeep!
🙂 Nice job 🙂
nice work. a clean large space, access to good tools and large equipment no doubt makes restorations like this easier, of course along with know how and vision.
Top of the line contender for army jeep driver recruit in WW-3.. 🤩
good to see a willys jeep doing what it was made for
Nuts dude, crazy kid. Sure do know your engines. Cool brother man
Literally turned the thing into a submarine thats awesome

Men love Wrangler
Legends love willys 🤩🤩😂😂❤️❤️❤️
You sure get a lot of use out of that forklift 👍 great job buddy!
You need to put a free flow/bigger exhaust so that it can enhance its power when it’s taking a lot of oxygen while you are in the deep mud
That is an insane shop! I need a willys

My last CJ-2A I sold before completing. I had 27 coats of black laguer on the frame and rear ends. It was set up for a 302 Ford I had but put it in my 50 Willys Hi-Wagon.
An actual enthusiast
Superb... Job Dude
Congratulations on completing this project!
Nice! Mine is a 1948. It took me 5 years to get it on the road......still not 100% done. I'm converting to disc brakes this summer.
Awesome! Great work🔥
Hoping to get mine running reliably soon. Gonna change all the fluids and clean the carb, test vacuume and timing... see where I'm at after that.
thanks.. my family had a 43 MB from 1963 to 1985.. my dad forbade me from doing any mods.. it got sold to a local guy.. who restored it to army look.. i still see it when they drag it out on parade days.. i know it was ours as the shovel groove was filled with a flat panel.. the only mod i got away with . be sure to mod a garden hose with a 360 degree sprinkler nozzle to wash your frame rails out after dunking it.. or operating it in the snow/sleet..
You win. Awesome jeep!! I got one that needs same thing so if you get a minute can you come by this afternoon and get started? Mine might take 20 minutes though.
1:15 remind me of my one Freind..also used to do that in some kind of situation like that..😂✌
Nice! Congrats!
Very nice job!!!! Amazing!
What you doing during winter

All you need is money. Congrats!
The real question is how we're gonna get my own out to Annapolis/DC to take Dad for a spin.
Absolutely awesome!
"Jeep" the original quad, nice job

My dad just bought 49 jeep. He bought it fully restored already lol.
Man the lights and stickers
FORKLIFT CERTIFIED
we need the long version
I would say "Resto-mod" in stead of Restored... But mad prop's on an absolutely wonderful work of rolling art. This was probably the best use of a MUTT engine/Drive I've seen to date. What type of AG tire did you put on it? They look simply mad going pond diving...
BKT 7.50 my favorite tire I've ever had
Your motor needs a turbo, it lacks power. I have years of experience building Jeeps. I'm 74 years old and still love them.
Do you have any tips for me? I think of buying a used 2005 Wrangler and I want to set it higher because I would go Mudding and Crawling with it, and also do you have all terrain wheels that you would recommend?
That’s sick
Awesome! Great work!
great work brother
Good video
Love seeing these old Jeeps restored!
Amazing jeep
Good video ★
Молодец. Каждый добропорядочный американец должен и обязан восстановить такой джип.
Final clip was lit
I'm amazed how that only all took 10 minutes but I'm sure it took longer than 10 minutes as stated in the title of the video ????!!!!!
Actually 11 minutes
Beautiful jeep. 🤓👍
don't forget the diving suit
the first engine I ever rebuilt was with my Grandfather... an old Willys
Awesome build I have a 56 CJ5 I want to restore
I wanted to see your set up on you’re water proof carburetor and distributor ?
Ace :D Rad on the top next so it can run through the full swamp blerg? - the winch mounts were very neat :o)
GREAT JOB!!!!
Wish you didn't live so far away. I would come over and help. I live clear over in southwest Washington state.
Very nice build bit i wouldve painted the jerry can red
Como debe ser la ingenieria de esta máquina és genial.
awesome rebuild could you please send me a link or tell me what/where you got those exact combat tyres from ? cheers
7.50-16 BKT
Dude painted it white so the mud is even more obvious 😅
Excelente trabajo, ojalá yo tuviera los medios para armarme uno igual ,soy un fanático de los Willys
NICE garage, so big haha
Very very very good
Nice job 👌
I wish I could taks the body off mine and restore it that way but I have to settle for setting it on ramps and restoring the rust from the bottom.
How much was it?
So when the exhaust and air hose are at the highest point of the vehicle you can drive through water if everything is well sealed?
Correct
Thumbnail is a lie its lime white.
What was the complete cost
This is amazing, love those pizza cutters mounted on there!

I was upset to see so many RO-1 Land Rovers smashed up in the UK mud racing.
It's very cute
Bro awesome you alone in your work shop shall I also come to help with you 😍😍
Wow! If I can make like that ...👍
'

next time dont let jeep on the water...
better put 3 safety color lights on the rear taillights
nice jeep
Wooh guy u r great n talented
What are those tractor tread tires? I want some so bad for my 48 2a, hah.
BKT 7.50-16
very nice jeep! amazing work on it, congrats!
but why MUTT drivetrain? it was already in there or you choosed for some special reason?
Here i'm using GM151 engine with original gearbox and transfer case (soon I will put 5 speed gearbox 😈)
i can not tell if thats a manual or automatic 😂 i saw u driving hands on stick but then i saw u driving both hands on wheel
What a restoration job was really beautiful, but what makes a guy have all this work to restore a car like this, paint it, put new parts, etc. to then bog down the car in mud muddying it all with shit, clay, and everything For me it is the same as taking a diamond stone and shoving it into a pig’s ass, it doesn’t make sense to fix the whole car to destroy it with him again, they’re just stupid guys
Round steel bar does not look awesome but jeep restore is good👍
Very cool!✌😎👍
Looks like you don't need to use AWC to make that jeep waterproof!
