Great Tutorial Phill thank you, quick question, have you notice any difference in sound quality while playing standalone with usb Drive vs laptop using recordbox? I was playing the other day and notice that stand alone sound better than with my laptop. Any idea why?
Great video covering the Opus Quad Phil. I have a quick question for any Opus Quad owners. I am looking to use my laptop connected to the Opus Quad at home so I can connect to Pioneer's CRSS 12's (Rekordbox controlling the turntables). Is it possible in Performance mode to use the new Pioneer CRSS 12s with the Opus Quad (both can read each other's decks)? Would I have to go and buy a Reloop FLUX to get this connection working together? Probably so but wondering if Pioneer will allow turntables with timecode to work with the Opus Quad in the future - thanks everyone.
Question Phil. When you mention adjusting the beat grids on the opus quad, you mentioned pressing the -2+2 buttons or whatever, those move the beat grid one beat forward or backwards they don’t double or half the BPM. Can you tell me how to do that cause I can’t figure it out on the opus itself.
@@digitaldjtips reason I’m asking is because they’re grid correctly in RB, but loading them after on the opus, some tracks load at half bpm, when the tag writes it correctly. It’s weird so that feature would be clutch for me atm.
Much appreciated OQ tutorial video, thank you Phil! Watched it 2 days before my OQ arrived and when I unpacked the OQ I could immediately use it thanks to your video. Have you ever had some small glitches with the OQ? For example, cued loops sometimes start, sometimes not (then I have to activate "reloop"). Beat position with beat sync sometimes doesn't work (while beat sync is lit, not flashing). Not critical as I hardly use it but I don't like software glitches on such a DJ device. Great video! The only thing I am missing is the FX frequency selector that's on the djm900 / A9. I want the FX to target HI/MID frequencies which I use often in Tech House mixes. It's kinda weird they didn't put it on there considering all the (software) advancements they've made.
Honestly this is a huge issue that will deter me from getting this instead of the A9. I love pioneer fx and I like the idea of this being more portable than a club set up but I often use just mid and high frequency for fx. It would be surprising if they can’t add this through software but I am not willing to take the chance given this is almost $5000 in Canada
Exactly. You can 'sort of' work around it by just removing the low end from the channel before applying the FX. But that leaves a lot of unused creativity on the table. @@darrinbisson8914

Secondly on the Xdj rx 2 with the single cable connection you could switch from performance mode to export mode. However despite using a usb to Ethernet dongle I have been unable to connect the laptop with the quad on export mode. The touch screen not working when connected to the laptop is something that is not made apparent in the specs of the quad are provided. It should be made clear as it is a limiting aspect. In the mobile iOS rekordbox app you can add songs to a playlists from another. In the quad while you can create a tag list and convert THAT into a playlist I was unable to find a way to add to a playlist from another. when using a USB by itself without cloud play the search for a song seems only within a playlist rather than the across all the music on the usb. That is very limiting. Finally my version of rekordbox 6.8.5 doesn’t show the devise plus library in preferences as a lot of videos show. Did you know you could still play music from a hard drive or USB stick that has since been physically disconnected from the Opus Quad? Check this out here if you think I'm telling tall tales > ua-cam.com/video/zRiJ9ocGWw0/v-deo.html
Isn’t possible cause is not a slip mode version.
Hello friend, I enjoy watching your videos. I use xdj xz. How can I stop the music from starting when I press hotcue? Thank you.
Just got one 2025. Am I stupid
No, what makes you think that?
i need to train my partner to let me buy one.
Ha ha!
Pioneer back at it again with shitty overpriced products no one asked for instead of delivering the things we actually want 👍
Says you! apparently this has sold very well.
Price needs to drop to $1,500.00 if they wanna sell any. 🤦🏽♂️
They have sold loads apparently
I think they are fine. Solid unit. I’m enjoying mine. The ddj1000 is still up around the price you’re talking about. I believe the opus is fairly priced for the piece of kit that it is
Found that guy that doesn't understand running a business 😂
NOT WORTH THE COST
Buy something else then? What's your point?
Ive had my opus quad for some time now and i love except one thing my mini headphones jack somehow is now loose and i need to have it fixed 🥲
you could just spend $2 on an adaptor and use the other one!
