Gold Rusher opened along with the rest of Magic Mountain during the park's grand opening in 1971. The old style Arrow Development cars are made so the ride operator has to open them up manually. The ride normally operates with one or two trains due to the low popularity. While the ride does not have a high attendance, it is still a favorite of many guests because the ride is not as aggressive as the other roller coasters in the park. Children who prefer not riding the park's most aggressive rides such as: Apocalypse, Goliath, Revolution, Superman: Escape from Krypton and X2 ride Gold Rusher because the ride itself is not as aggressive and gives the guests a good amount of thrill. Wait times are usually no longer than 5 minutes during the off-peak season. It was the first roller coaster at Six Flags Magic Mountain, making it a historic coaster. The ride has undergone little changes since it began operating in 1971.
The coaster was temporarily closed after Christmas in 2012 due to the park's latest roller coaster, Full Throttle. Full Throttle was constructed near Goldrusher's first drop where Log Jammer used to be. Goldrusher and Full Throttle are currently open for riders as of May 2019.

Just is not the same without the water from Log Jammer surrounding it..

💯
Agree! 💯
When Magic Mountain first opened there were only two rollercoasters; this one and the wild mouse coaster the Mountain Express. Since then the Mountain Express has been torn down but the Gold Rusher remains even as the park expanded and built taller and faster rides.

Nah man the dutchies crushed you
This might be weird but this looks and feels very similar to dahlonega mine train in six flags over Georgia
Awesome Ride
Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This coaster called Gold Rusher is like a mini roller-coaster at Six Flags Magic Mountain on Valencia, CA to Los Angeles, CA!
Fun Fact: Gold rusher opened with magic mountain in 1974.
A stoned cold CLASSIC!
Broke me in as a coaster junkie....this ride
FUN YOU FRONT ROW - ON GOLD RUSHER ROLLER COASTER - AT SIX FLAGS MAGIC MOUNTAIN !!!!
My Favorite ride at that park!
Holy crap, all the trees are gone
All I remember is this ride being so much more intense then I thought it would be , and the fact that I could go on it over and over
love that ridiculous lay out. they need to bring water back to the first turn. it seems weird with just all dirt. but iam sure that SFMM will invest no additional funds into this attraction. we need to be happy it runs at all...
My FAVORITE ride at that park !
Me too! I just went there yesterday! It was so fun.
Very entertaining and fun to watch. Thanks for posting this.

What does that have to do with coasters?
@@Mrbushbtalls837 I can confirm this coaster is in the United States.
Definite classic, this was the first real coaster I ever rode.
Same
Rode this when I was a pre-teen, when there weren't buildings all around the tracks, just greenery.
Why does the ride look so outdated? it seems like the coaster is falling apart and the rails look so old and dusty and dirty and losing paint. They should repaint it and make it look more nice and fresh.
Hello sir, how can I contact you?
Here, lol
How do you get your camera on the rides every time I try I get told to take it off
I see a lot of people use go pros attached to either their arms or headbands.
Nice to see the gum on the girder tradition is still in place! 😂
Yikes
It feels l 1:24like I was Superman at that point at 7 years old
Great classic
