I can’t overstate how much this vid helped me with properly understanding herd management! I’ve watched how-to’s from all the top COTW content creators but this one filled in a lot of gaps. Thank you for the tips, great video!
Amazing guide as usual 👏🏽 Question 1: what do I do with zones that have 4-5 males with a couple of them being high levels (not diamond potential) Question 2: what do I do with zones that have one female? Or only females?
Great guide crow I just started my Layton moose grind this morning so this will help me a lot as I’m so used to fallow being so easy moose is a whole different ball game
I’ve considered setting up a moose grind on Layton but ultimately never did because I have one already well established on medved. I was going through the 5 stages of grief since my second great one moose (first with a fur type) took nearly 11k kills and I didn’t know what to do lol. I’m gonna be leaving my Layton available for a new grind since I have a very strong suspicion that Rosevelt elk are the next great one. Along side the muntjac being a hint to the new map on that survey Rosevelt elk were oddly absent from the next great one question.
what do i do for my fallow deer i feel like i’ve managed them down a lot and idk what to do now most of my zones and managed down including my favorite
I cannot wrap my head around how to only get high-level animals to spawn at a lake. Every heard management guide video says at one point, “shoot the lower level animals, so that they won’t spawn at that lake anymore!” but then literally two minutes later they will say “only shoot high-level animals at a lake, so that lake only spawns high-level animals!” I really don’t understand. Does shooting an animal make it respawn in the same place, or does it make it respawn somewhere else?
Hey crow, How do you get your animals to look so good in the harvest screen? I need mine to look for thumbnails but they look super soft and dont have much detail, I have my settings for fur quality on high but it doesnt seem to help.
If you use the base game .338 do you get full score on animals bigger than Class 4 I still have the very first version of the game on Xbox 1 with no DLCs and the 338 says it's only rated for Class 4 animals but obviously Moose are bigger than that so using that gun getting lungs or heart would I still get full score for it
So when you get big males in solo zones you want to shoot those basically as you find them because you’re gonna have to go out and find it again when it respawns. The end goal is to have all small males in solo zones and your big males in the zones with 4 animals in them 2 male 2 female. Once you have that it’s just jumping from tent to tent shooting 2 moose at each zone then once you hit every zone quit to menu and select reserve to go back in. That triggers the animals to respawn. Rinse repeat. But it takes a LONG time to get to that point. I have months and months into a whitetail grind on rev and I’m just now getting it to where it’s managed the way I want it. And it already gave me a G1 lol. I swear I think he’s right about herd management having affect on G1 spawns 🤷🏼♂️ both my grinds so far following his guides have gotten me G1’s
The zone will disappear but the animal will respawn and create a new drink zone somewhere else most likely. This is for solo male zones btw. If there’s other females using the zone with him the zone won’t disappear and the male should respawn back into that zone so long as there’s at least 2 other females to hold the zone. If a zone is ever shot down to a single animal (male or female) it won’t receive any new respawns and will essentially die. Hope that answers your question.

having main zones does not work and has never worked for me. i do every single step that you do. i manage my ENTIRE map and find every single zone, and i confirm this by using a tracker now (boo hoo) because i cant take not knowing if im doing something wrong, especially when u guys consistently get great ones every 3 days, then i set up main zones that i WANT and shoot down zones i dont want. well heres the issue. every god damn time i shoot a zone down to ALL 2s and females, and LEAVE that zone forever, i get RANDOM respawns in the OLD zones that i left, despite checking them over and over and over to make sure they dont respawn there. this has absolutely killed grinding for me because it makes it impossible to get a set up on anything that isnt on te awaroa. why does the content creator maps not have this issue? i dont know but im tired of going 12,000+ kills between every single great one because nothing works. ive spent 2,000 hours solely grinding great ones on pc alone with very VERY little result

what does it mean to manage all the solos

Does anyone know if you shoot the only male at a drink zone if it will get rid of that male or if it will respawn
