    I use canola oil spray. Spray the mould lightly, and the gum paste gets pushed in, wipe excess off with my thumb or cut with blade, and pop them out. Same with tappits. Roll the gum paste, spray the gum paste and tappits, cut out. Will never change the way either. I get success more than 99% of the time. I've had two letters in the past year not come out.. 😊 you should try it. Then there is no need to wait for freezer time.

      +Sarah Le Moignan Thank you for your advise:) I used to do it with oil when I was only starting with my caking, but I didn't like it because everything was oilly after that. Maybe I was just using too much of that oil. I think everyone has to find the method that works the best for them :)

      +cakezonepl yeah a very light spray and it dissolves. no oily residue. I should try the freezer method. :) Xx

      +Sarah Le Moignan the freezer method is good because the letters get hard (until they defrost) and they are easy to handle - they dont strech or change shape, so you can put them right on the cake or move them somewhere and leave them to dry hard :)

    Doesn't work. Fondant sticks to my fingers & won't go in the mold.

    do you need to put it in the freezer each time? what if you have to use the letters multiple times in a name or greeting?

    • @just_cake_it
      @just_cake_it  3 роки тому +1

      it’s easier to take them out when they are from the freezer, they are hard then and not getting stretched out. so yes, I would say you have to put them in the freezer each time. if you need more letter, you just have to repeat the process few times

      I used store bought modeling paste, but you can add tylose powder to your fondant to make it a modeling paste

    is the fondant not getting sweat after few minutes?

    • @just_cake_it
      @just_cake_it  7 років тому +1

      it will get sweaty after few minutes, so you have to work fast with the letters, but once you stick them to the cake and not touch them they will stop being sticky after a moment
