The AG Don't quote me on where I read/heard it (think it was on the forums years ago), but rumours were that the two actors didn't get on very well. Wouldn't be surprising, considering Neil Morrissey slated the show in the papers not that long ago!
She should have stayed with Eddie rather than married Adam. There's something about Adam I don't like, he just seems a bit creepy to me. Didn't the actress who played Rachel say that their marriage wouldn't have lasted?
Jack Rimmer was a fantastic character in his own fight but in terms of actual headteacher capabilities Mason was streets ahead of the rest (especially in her open impartiality). I want to say that Waterloo Road would’ve worked best with Mason as headteacher and Rimmer as deputy but then I consider that they were probably too-different to have anything like a compatible working relationship. Semi-liaising with Treneman (another great character) was enough wahala for the guy.
She is basically this show's version of an Over Powered character. she can essentially solve any problem. How do you ground that in realism? You make it very clear that it takes a toll on her which makes the audience love her more. Rachel was the best head and character to be honest. I hope she comes back as a guest star in some way.
Remember being vexed she didn’t end up with Mr Lawson. They would of made a lovely couple, if it wasn’t for her sister having to ruin it. Rachel Mason was such an icon tho.

I was looking at this thinking that I recognised her from something else, possibly that I watched more recently (I watched Waterloo Road when she was in it, but I thought I was going to see another show I watch now, and would be like "Wait, that was her?!"), but I checked the actress (Eva Pope) on Wikipedia, and although I saw some shows I watch, none of them were really noteworthy enough roles for me to have taken notice of her, if I saw her. It's possible that I still had a clear image of her in Waterloo Road in the back of my mind, and it resurfaced, but acted as though I should recognise her from something I've been watching lately, instead of simply remembering that I knew what she looked like in this show.
In an interview she said that she stayed for 3 seasons because she was contracted for 3 seasons. But then I remember she also said the filming days were 15 hours long and she didn't want to do it anymore :)
Christine and Jack were almost as good but with Christine she was head teacher in a time where none of us really cared for the other characters and the show had already gone downhill so she doesnt get as much credit
