A22 is unmistakably in the intro for R.Type Delta. I love the sound of this synth (and of course the OG). Very FM-ish. Synths that aren't glorified fart machines ftw.
Thanks for NOT playing the same old redundant riff on every patch. I've got a Wavestate (which is simply amazing) but I think I wanna grab a JD 08 to plug into my MPC One. Everyone seems to whine about the polyphony but with the MPC you get 128 notes no matter the sample! Good video!
@@kimdiez2681 Yup. An incredible sampling workstation with 7 synths built in AND you can turn any sample into a polyphonic synth. It's such a beast. Don't see myself ever making music without it. (Used from Guitar Center for $600.)
Have had mine on pre order since December when sites said they'd be shipping in early January. Now, no one is getting any in until March. This supply issue is a real problem! I'm about ready to buy a Hydrasynth instead, I'm so tired of waiting.
Still waiting for my HYDRASYNTH EXPLORER from B&H ordered it beginning of the year Jan 2022 Idk why the don’t send it but they have it on back order - but i have the first HYDRASYNTH here i got last December so I’m ok on the wait
@@klownaround5464 Did you want the explorer for it's portability/gigging or are they able to be easily linked for expanded polyphony? Or just fake the deluxe version with stacking?
Hi there ! Thank you for this video which has made my decision to buy the JD 08 much easier. I notice all switches - knobs and faders are in the same position for all preset sounds. Do you have to set them this way when choosing any of the presets ? Thanks again - Best Regards - Eddie ( a UK follower ).
Hi Eddie! All knobs and sliders stay in the same / last position when you change the presets. They are not moving by themselves;-) So I whish you much fun with this device! By the way I bought the original JD 800 last month....for some kind of collective reasons.... Greets
@@st1012Hi there ! Sorry I don't see your name anywhere to address you more politely. Thanks for your quick reply. ( I get the faders etc not being motorised ! Lol ! ) 🤭 I've just received my JD 08 and all controls are set at their lowest position out of the box so I'm having a bit of a problem getting the nice rich Preset tones as in your video as they all seem to sound very similar ( out of the box ). 😥 Any advice would be most appreciated to save me hours of knob twiddling. I'm totally new to Synths and would really appreciate your advice. Thanks again for being so helpful - Best Regards - Eddie the Newbie !

Hi Paul i'm looking at the JD-08 - already have the SE-02 and SH-01a and several boutiques look interesting but wondered if you have any thoughts on what would work next for me ?
@twiglet2214 - Hi there, I have my SH-01A, TB-03, TR-06 and TR-6S and the Roland cloud stuff so I'm pretty much covered now for Roland (i might get an SP404mk2 but Koala sample does me fine) my JD-800 I got working and is now back in the cupboard with my Alpha Juno so I couldn't recommend the JD-08 as it is really just a collection of 108 short and outdated PCM sounds, they could have included all the additional sound sets but they didn't, what I would recommend and what I noodle on most days is the Korg Minilogue XD as it is a true Analog Poly synth, I have mine and my NTS-1 x2 loaded up with Sinevibes (and other free ones) Oscillators, Odds is especially good.
You can really hear from where the jv-1080 got its legacy listening to these patches!

@@jesusrocks7500How do you feel about building songs on the MPC? I own a Force and it's great but always wondered about the other Akai workflow.
Bro, thank u so much for posting the presets name and sets. I've been looking for a module with drum kits.
You are welcome....
I wasn’t going to get one of these, I thought it would be helpful using the jupiter synth on the INTEGRA 7, and does sound great!
I'm not big on offering my opinion but you're pretty talented. You should record an album!
Thank You very much!
Actually I am already working on it!
Bank A Sound like JD800 original patches. Bank B are all new and not the same as Bank 2 in the JD800
But they stll sound good and are based on up to 4 tones per patch.

Very different synths buddy

I don't get the idea of tiny sliders, but the sound is wonderful.
Tiny knobs still turn 360 degrees, don't they?

Is the jd 800 considered a fm synth?
Yeah, I was wondering that too tbh.
How do I change the pitch bend to -12 down and +2 up? Thank you
You van find this at the reference manual at the roland.com internet page (now there is a pdf version!) on page 41: setting the key tone range.

That is because you are not Jonn Serrie and not writing space music for planetariums, lol
