      I prefer Daymar because I am usually in Crusader. I mostly mine with my Prospector on Celin, so anytime I want to change it up and use the ROC I don't have to go far. Daymar has plenty of hadanite. It's easier to find on Aberdeen but it's still abundant on Daymar too. Also, you don't need expensive Pembroke armor and Daymar has very little atmosphere.
      The downside is that you have to worry more about pirates and stuff like that, but the C1 quantum drive is so fast that I have no issues getting away. I spool up my quantum drive and look for OM-1 before I even leave the mining facility. You don't have to go very high before you can QT to OM-1 so I am not a target for very long. C1 is such a good ship for ROC mining.

    I have been a ROC miner for many years now, and I got some serious issues with the CIG update to the ROC!!! They ruined the ROC completely ever since they messed with the ground effects in patch 3.20. Am I the only one who has dealt with these issues? Before 3.20 the ROC was a fast very manuverable vehicle, easy to steer, very quiet, climbed any hill or rocks and didn't shake and vibrate like a cold Chihuahua dog, I have posted so many tickets to CIG about the changes they made and how horrible it is, I wish fellow ROC miners would join me by making their own tickets of complaints to CIG to get these issues resolved and if any of you miners aren't experiencing these same issues let me know. #1 when you start the ROC its really loud, almost defeaning, #2 when you accelerate its gutlass, it can't hardly climb the ramp into the ship or over any obstacles. #3 it acts like the brakes are locked up, when you let off the gas it stops immediately, no coasting at all. Didn't even know it had brakes lol. #4 its almost impossible to get into ship straight, it wants to go right or left and climb the wall then gets stuck, don't have enough power to get it unstuck. #5 when you shut it down and climb out it sinks into the floor making it almost impossible to get straightened out then when restarting it and trying to back it out of ship straight it is almost impossible. #6 ROC is gutless, it can't build any speed, it just drags along like your pulling an anchor, let off gas and it stops immediately. #7 there is no steering range, its either full right or full left, you can't control it like you could before the 3.20 patch. I never had any of these issues before they screwed it all up in the 3.20 patch, and they claim they fixed the vibrating when it just sits there on the ground not running, well it just sits there and shakes like a cold wet Chihuahua. At least they did fix the issue mining Hadenite, now you can actually mine the rocks without it acting up, but still when you switch from laser to collection mode you still have to screw with it to get it to suck up the gems, I don't think CIG really wants us gem mining anymore otherwise they would fix these issues and its been months, I and others have been complaining about all these issues with no results or fixes, PLEASE if your having the same problems as I have listed PLEASE make complaint tickets to CIG so we can hopefully get our ROC back the way it used to be, fun to drive, fast and furious, manuverable and enjoyable to mine with again. By the way zirHaze, thanks for making this ROC video, at least now I can talk to my fellow miners and hopefully get these problems resolved, I mine GEMS and thats all I like to do in this game. Please for the love of GOD lets raise some hell or I will hsve to retire my ROC and move onto another game, but I like this game alot, I just want my old ROC back CIG. Oh they did fix the headlight finally, it actually shines on the ground in front of you now and not up into the sky lol. That only took two years to fix.

    • @zirHazeGaming
      @zirHazeGaming  8 місяців тому +3

      I will raise hell with you lol One of the things that grinds my gears the most (that you actually mentioned) is that when you switch to extraction mode it’s takes a a while for it to register and actually start extracting the gems. And I agree about the ROC physics. It’s quite impossible (kinda possible but painful) to ROC mine with a constellation. As soon as you get off the ROC in the cargo area, the vehicle sinks lol I’ve noticed that behavior with several other ships. Not the C1 or the MSR though. You made some really good valid points that we should all raise to CIG! Thanks Commander 🫡

    Hand mining tool will do rocks in the .1 mass range, no bigger. ROC rocks tend to be .75-.85 mass. When ROC mining, never try to bust a patch of little .12 rocks. It's too powerful, they'll blow up almost immediately.
    Also, try not to ROC mine on a server fps of less than 6. The lag can make you overcharge a rock, with no time to correct.

    It's kind of round about but you could potentially use the ships tractor beam to load the ROC, fly back to the mining station, tractor the ROC out, get in the ROC, call for a pad, get back in the ship, tractor the ROC to the pad, get back in the ROC, fix it and finally recover your gems. Tedious as hell... yes, but maybe.

    I own like 6 of the PEMBRO suits now, but with the last update you don't need it anymore on Ariel or Aberdeen since they did something on the patch eliminating the heat problem lol, I prefer to mine on Ariel or Daymar. The rock exploding never use to destroy the ROC before 3.20, so now if you overcharge rock and it explodes it creates an EMP that takes out the ROC which just really sucks, and of course you can't just fix it, you have to go get another ROC. But you can blow the ROC up with your ship then go retrieve the box of gems and put it in ship, make sure you have a multitool with tractor device to do that, so many changes I swear, also they totally ruined the way you scan for gems now, use to be really nice, now it just sucks the way they make you scan, used to use the TAB button, now you have to use the V button, make sure your in scan mode, your guns and missile screens with be off, also set your scan peremeter to 180 degrees with scroll wheel. Jeese what a pain CIG, I swear you hate us miners you have made mining a royal pain in the ass especially for new miners.

      @@zirHazeGaming it's not...right now anyway. There is a bug where environment doesn't affect anything. Go there in a flightsuit and walk around. Survival timer doesn't budge. I was roc mining for hours (after bypassing mining arm bug) without ever dying. There is a bug report on issue council about it.

  • @michaelfrieze
    @michaelfrieze 8 місяців тому +2

    The main reason I keep a multi-tool on me is to collect any gems on the ground if I destroy the ROC. Also, I always fill up my backpack with hadanite as much as possible because if the server crashes then you will wake up with your backpack full of hadanite. So worst case scenario you can at least sell that and not totally waste your time.
    Another thing to mention is that I don't keep hadanite in my ROC for too long. As soon as I get back to the ship I move the hadanite to my ship storage before I go back out looking for more hadanite. If the server crashes then you will not be able to recover hadanite that was in the ROC, but you might get lucky and it will still be in the ship.

      You'll have to take it over to the mining outpost (or anywhere with a local inventory) to move things around. Or you might be able to sell directly from the dead Roc once it's near the trade terminal, save a step?

  • @keyper555
    @keyper555 8 місяців тому +1

    Multitool will not crack these rocks, only the small ones in caves. If you overcharge the rock back away as far as you can to avoid the EMP, always make sure you have a clear path behind you to back up, shut off laser and reverse as fast as you can, you get far enough away and EMP will not destroy the ROC, always make sure you keep the laser in optimum range using mouse wheel, also you don't need to be very far from rocks, I usually am about 10 to 15 ft back, the rock exploding won't hurt you at all, only when its overcharged and then blows will it destroy the ROC. I wished they never changed that, the rocks never did any damage like the EMP crap they installed.

    Yestersay i did a 12h+session. First time ROC mining. I tried 6 moons incl. Arisl and Aberdeen. Several hours on Aberdeen. I like the miniing in caves but the Mining with the ROC was very disapointing. Sometimes there was noch Crystals for over 30mins and most of the time if i found one it was Doromite. After this longsession i earned 300-400k in 10h+. Its risky because of fog, pirates long mission on fragile servers and could takelong if no crystals appear. If spend the same tme ito the 20k mission to kill satelites i earn way more without any risk. A friend recieced a credit to buy a vulture and after 3-5h salvaging he was close to 1,X millions he need. Salvageing marks the target, earn big money without any bigger risk. I try to like ROC mining but it is hard , after flyinng 4h through the fog of Aberdeen an o ly find 2 small groups of hadenite, one of it i a vertikal wall without any chance to mine it.

    Aberdeen is okay, but I prefer daymar anytime anyday....the atmosphere is thin and visibility is always better, very easy to see as well even when the moon is on the darker side away from sunlight. Aberdeen is just pain the a$$ since the atmo is so thick with very poor visibility , I often time crashed into the terrain because I can't see shit and this is not when its dark but when there's sunlight, but to each their own I guess.

    • @roselynveren5022
      @roselynveren5022 8 місяців тому

      not to mention when you go to Aberdeen, you need special suit (that bulky armor) because the weather is so harsh and extreme, with normal space suit you wont survive that long, Daymar is more forgiving in my opinion

    • @StelzCat
      @StelzCat 8 місяців тому

      Regular Aril suit holds pretty well in these conditions despite having lower temperature threshold. IDK if it's intended behaviour, it just shows 1h 38m timer and no side effects.

    • @roselynveren5022
      @roselynveren5022 8 місяців тому

      @@StelzCat I still think using pembroke armor is the best if you mine in abeerdeen since you dont really need to even worry about the timer and the suite will resist the extreme heat, same with novikov armor if you are in extreme cold place, but the op suggested that his main gripe is mostly visibility which is very true imo. I know you can ping the terrain by pressing and hold V over and over but some players don't like that hassle of doing that.

    • @zirHazeGaming

    • @rio20d
      @rio20d 8 місяців тому

      @@zirHazeGaming I guess , thats the thing for me lol, when you are flying "near" the ground which sometimes can be quite dangerous at least for some players, myself included. You can crash lol. Now, I dont consider myself a very good pilot though. I might try to check on Aberdeen again, but If I compare the two, in terms of how easy to navigate safely , Daymar is still my choice.
      I also agree with the other comment about the suit you need in Abeerdeen, due to harsh hot environment and weather. I usually wear just normal medium or heavy armor which are mainly for doing bunker mission as that is my main gameplay in sc and roc mining is like the side activities when I need to relax and chill and get some more aUEC. Roc mining in Daymar is just less hassle, I dont need to change special suit like pembroke, just so that I can mine safely.
